garrusvakarian304 Posted July 3, 2015 Share Posted July 3, 2015 I just installed Nexus mod manager but when ever i go to start it up it keeps giving me this error " you are missing C:\Games\ The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\Update.esm . please verify your game install and ensure C:\Games\ The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim\Data\Update.esm is present " i just installed skyrim so i don't get whats wrong could someone please help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
megageeklizzy Posted July 3, 2015 Share Posted July 3, 2015 (edited) Make sure your game is up-to-date. It sounds like you are missing the update file. I think it would give an error for the main skyrim file if that was the problem, because it would look for it before looking for the update. If I'm wrong about that, though, I guess it could be looking in the wrong place for your game. Change the game directory so that it goes to where your game is, if it's been moved. EDIT: Also, if you've never actually run skyrim before, try running with the normal launcher(no SKSE). It will make .ini files if it's missing any. I don't know if that actually affects the update.esm, but it's something I generally try when I'm having issues.
