  1. Just getting back to the modding community. I wiped my computer a while ago, so I'll be starting completely fresh.
  2. Modders on Nexus can't make armors based off of other games, as Nexus Rules consider it Copyright Infringement, even if the object was made from scratch. The said objects would be immediately taken down, and the modder probably banned. It'd be best to ask around somewhere else. ESO is another game. There's a collection of TERA armors that's pretty successful on Nexus. The very popular Triss armor is from The Witcher 2. I don't know exactly what the rule is, but it is obviously not as strict as you are suggesting.
  3. I apologize for my lack of communication. I lost everything on my computer last week. I lost my work on your request and on a couple of other requests for different people. I'm letting everybody know today. This is entirely my fault, and I have no good excuse for not informing you earlier. Sorry. I am in college now and I have started working on a huge mod that I hope to release before Fallout 4 comes out, and I after losing all of my progress, I don't think I'll be able to finish your request in a timely manner. This post will bump your thread, and hopefully someone will see it and respond. Once again, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Feel free to send me angry messages or talk to other people about how I break promises. I feel bad about doing this, especially since I am still making another mod, but I ultimately think that my other major mod will contribute more to the community as a whole. I'll probably be willing to do your requests once I get done with my other mod, if nobody else has helped you by then. If you decide to make it for yourself, I will offer you as much advice as I can. I don't want anyone to be angry, so if you find these terms to be unacceptable, I will make your request sooner. Just realize that I have lost any progress that I made, so it may take a while for me to make it. I'm sorry for the long message, and I'm sorry for the situation. EDIT: Actually, I found the female tunic without pants in an existing mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1384/? Here's a version for CBBE: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4803/?

  5. EDIT: I figured it out. I should have just tried a little bit longer instead of asking. For future reference, use Triton if the Animation Tools' TriCreator isn't working for you. You can find Triton on Nexus.
  6. We have seen several sub-races of argonians, and none of them have wings. I'm pretty sure the wings make this lore-unfriendly in almost any way. I've gone through the list of creatures seen in the Elder Scrolls, and here are the things I've seen that are close but probably won't work. I didn't see anything that I thought would definitely work: You could maybe argue that dragonlings would be lore-friendly, but while they had a language, they never seemed sentient, and only appeared to have legs and wings, with no arms. Gargoyles are close, but their face isn't very human in any of the depictions. Homunculus are almost the perfect lore excuse visually, but they probably no longer exist since they were experiments, and they weren't shown to be intelligent. Imps could almost work, but they don't appear scaly in Oblivion or Online, and may or may not be intelligent. Winged Twilights are only female and only have legs and wings(no arms).
  7. It's kind of lore-friendly. Centaurs existed in Daggerfall, and while we haven't seen any since then, we also haven't been explicitly told that they are extinct. The Dragonborn being a centaur probably isn't lore-friendly, but if you use an alternate start or something, it might be okay. Getting through the initial Helgen sequence as a centaur would be a little awkward anyway, with the beheading attempt and jumping from building to building. I have noticed a folder in the vanilla assets labeled "centaur", and it contains a skeleton. I've never actually looked at it, but if it already has the bone structure, it would potentially save a lot of time. Unfortunately, using a skeleton without a mesh would mean rigging - something that is time-consuming and not many people know how to do. Starting with the horse and human skeletons could potentially work, but a lot of the animations would have to be recombined in order to look right...although...using the human skeleton's riding animations might work perfectly. It is definitely feasible, and I sincerely hope somebody with the right skillset will help you.
  8. Well, make a backup, first. I don't know how a normal that includes specularity works, but if there are white spots, try to replace them with the color gradient that would be in that area. I don't really know what normal maps in this kind of situation look like, as I've honestly only messed with skin textures, and they work much differently. I might be totally wrong. Hopefully if I am, somebody will correct me and give you a better answer.
  9. It's actually quite simple to find textures without even using the creation kit. Use BSA unpacker to unpack the texture BSA and any BSAs for DLC that you might need textures from, then just navigate through the texture folder to find the one that corresponds to the item you are looking for. For textures on items that are from a mod, find the mod's zip in your NMM mod folder, make a copy of it somewhere accessible, extract everything out of it, and navigate to its textures. It is possible that some mods may have weird names for their textures, but I would say most mods use names that you can actually use to find what you're looking for.
  10. Uh...crap. Okay. What does the _em look like?
  11. Find the _s texture that they use and make it completely black. I don't think the normal map(_msn) will need to be changed, but look at it if changing the specular doesn't help.
  12. Civil War overhaul allows you to switch sides in the middle of the Civil War, I believe. I only ever side with the Imperials, and never switch sides, so I don't have any personal experience with the mechanic. If you want to try it out, it can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37216/? Please don't be offended by what I'm saying next. I'm an extreme lore freak and like logic as much as Spock, so ignore me if either of these things would place me outside of the intended audience for the mod requested. Would the Dragonborn, a famous hero known for bringing victory, really be able to walk up to Tullius' friend and say "hey, I'm sorry I killed all of your comrades and ruined your life. Will you help me bring the Imperials back?" I imagine that Rikke(or whoever would be in the Bannered Mare) would take a good look at your face, recognise you, and run you through with an Imperial sword a few times. Also, why would the Dragonborn, after defeating one of the opposing factions engaged in civil war, decide to work with his or her enemies to undo all of the work done to kill them? I can't really think of any motive. I can understand being a player who wants to see the other faction's quest line, but switching sides after killing the opposing leader just doesn't make sense. If you don't want the Imperials or Stormcloaks to be killed off, don't join either faction, and just stay neutral in the war. You'll have to start a new game to stay neutral or fight for the Imperials, but Civil War Overhaul only works on a fresh save, and I imagine any other mods that affect the civil war as much as you want will require a new game as well. Basically, I'm telling you that I think you should start a new game. Take my opinion for what you will; I do not want to be offensive, and I understand that everybody wants a different experience in Skyrim.
  13. I can give some advice. It's been about a year since I built mine, but a quick google search or two can get me up to speed. Are you looking into a laptop or desktop? How much money do you plan to spend? What parts do you have already?
  14. It would help to know what game this is for, as problems with importing are likely specific to the game.
  15. You have to put new textures into the custom race folders.
  16. @Tsyras You will probably need to unpack the sound files from their BSA. There are a few programs you can download that will allow you to do this. Just search for "BSA unpacker". There are a few on Nexus. I've run into one or two that don't work properly, so if you have issues with the first program you try, try another one.
  17. There's one huge problem with this. You are the Dragonborn. You save all of Skyrim, almost single-handedly. Everybody is going to love you. That doesn't mean that you can kill several people before guards start to think about arresting you. The ability to become a Thane is pretty much a simpler version of this, and its simplicity allows it to work in most situations. I believe that if you do punch somebody while in a hold in which you are Thane, you have the option of telling the guards to leave you alone. The only situation in which another system would be necessary is one like what you mentioned, but bandits don't attack cities and people run inside when a dragon attacks, so they would be safe whether you are there or not.
  18. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56614/? You have to manually set weapons to not have the visual effect, but it should work.
  19. I'm working on a huge character appearance overhaul. I really like JazzJR's argonian textures, but I can't get them to work. I have only tried the HD version, and I don't plan to use the lite version because I am making hi-res textures, so even if it works, I don't want to use it. When I unzip the rar, the folder structure looks correct, but when I actually open the dds files in an image editor, all I see is a completely blank transparent square. It has the right dimensions, though, and the file opens, so I don't think it's corrupt. I've also re-downloaded it multiple times to try to rule out that the files were corrupt, and every time I download, I have the same issue. I have the issue with both the main HD file and the 'bright' HD file. What really doesn't make sense to me is that a few of the files actually work properly. The male head diffuse map is one that I know works, if you want to see if it is set up differently somehow. If anybody knows why this is happening, how I can fix it, or where I can find a mirror of the mod with working files, I would really appreciate this information. If this really is a problem with the files, I would also like to know so I can let the author know(if they're even still active). EDIT: Here's a link to the mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/7712/?
  20. I believe it is possible to make different races use different animations, but that isn't really necessary here. You just need the mentioned khajiit sprint mod and the mod 'PC Exclusive Animation Path'.
  21. Don't bump. Really. It's annoying, and there's a sticky that you can't possibly have not seen before. On a side note: I already did the "alternate request" for you. You could have told me if it wasn't what you wanted. I'm also going to be brutally honest with you. You make a lot of requests. You bump most of them a few times before they inevitably disappear into the void that is nearly four years' worth of Skyrim mod requests. A lot of your requests are just simple, two-minute texture edits. My suggestion? Learn to do them yourself. I'm not trying to be mean. It's not only better for the other people who want their requests to be seen, it's also better for you, because chances are that unless you do it yourself, most of your requests aren't going to be created. Here's what you need if you want to edit textures: Gimp or Paint.net the DDS plugin for either above program(paint.net has one built in, but it has limited capabilities.) a BSA extractor (if you plan to use any vanilla assets) reference images (if you use something like SkySight Skins and publish it without permission, you WILL get yourself into trouble.) You can find all of these things using the search engine of your choice. If you use paint.net, you will have to find the DDS plugin stored on Google, as the one on getpaint.net doesn't work. Please realize that I am not trying to be a bully. I'm trying to show you some tough love so you can learn to do these things for yourself.
  22. I'm not totally sure what that is. It says it's just a retex, but the images definitely look like they change the mesh. Anyway, if you want help, you would be better off asking on the site that shall not be named. Also, do not name the site that shall not be named. It results in angry moderators. You should probably edit it out of your post, too, just to be safe.
  23. Okay...so when you say you removed all your mods, you mean you installed fresh on a new computer?
  24. Find its textures and delete the (texturename)_s.dds.
  25. If you aren't using a mod for face textures, get one. I can't really tell from the picture, but the problem is likely actually a shadow rather than the texture. I have yet to find a good way to fix shadows that actually works, but ENBs are supposed to fix it, and you can try some ini tweaks that you can find by searching something like "skyrim ini blocky shadow fix" on your preferred search engine.
