LE Rangers Apprentice mods

Greeting fellow gamers, I'm quite a reader of fantasy novels (and video games of course) and one of my favourite book series is John Flanagan's Rangers Apprentice, if you've read the book you already now about the uncanny skill of Rangers if not then read this: The Ranger Corps was founded during King Herbert's reign. King Herbert is also known as the founder of modern Araluan. The Ranger Corps was reformed by Halt and Crowley after Halt left Hibernia, to provide a service to the King. They are considered an elite intelligence and reconnaissance force. There are 50 rangers, one for each fief. A few of the most notable rangers are Halt of Northern Redmont fief, Gilan, Commandant Crowley, and Will Treaty of Southern Redmont. Rangers wear a grey-green camoflagued cloak. They are all best known for the long bows they carry and twenty-four arrows in their quiver plus an extra twelve on their saddlebag. They also wield a throwing knife,a heavy bladed saxe knife, and two brass bars with knobs on the ends called strikers. Rangers are incredibly stealthy and many believe that they practice dark arts. So basically Rangers are the law of Aruelen the setting of the books, Rangers where green and grey mottled cloaks and are trained to be unseen movers, they are master archers and can shoot with uncanny speed and accuracy. They also carry two knives, a heavy bladed saxe knife and a throwing knife, they can use both knifes together to parry incoming blows from swords.

 

 

I think some mods for Skyrim based on Rangers Apprentice would be great, a Ranger Cloak and outfit would look amazing, some archery mods would be cool to. Bow damage could be made realistic ect. So I ask anyone who likes the idea of this could make some mods, for reference I've included some pictures that are the cover art of the books so any moder can get an idea of the ranger cloak and knifes. I can't really do retextures, however I can jack up the damage of the Hunting Bow. I looks similar to the bow in the second picture. There is a type of Ranger Cloak mod already out there, but it is based on the Lord of the

Rings: (Will put up link later, Nexus is sluggish)

 

However, I find it too shiny to use, so I am currently using the Markarth Guard's Tunic/Armor. It has a darker green sash and a light brown tunic under it. It also has a chain mail undershirt and a small pouch on the belt. Personally, I like it and there are many colors to choose from the different holds across Skyrim.

 

I have uploaded a .txt file. Put this in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim folder. When in the game, open the console with the "~" key (Above the Tab Key) and type "bat GuardArmor" without the quotes. This will spawn all the Guard Armors, Shields and Helmets to your inventory. When you find one you like, simply look up its ID and type "player.additem (ID goes here) 1" without the quotes or parentheses. Done!

If the damage were do be jacked up it would have to be for the longbow, the character in the pictures is only a Rangers apprentice, so he starts with a recurve bow. What I really want is a full proper mod, not a re texture the whole outfit, it might take some work but would be awesome if done right. Also with the archery I think some changes could be added to make it better like perhaps a slight auto aim feature to makes it feel like you were a great shoot, a Ranger, I mean let's face it Skyrim has terrible archery, the arrows are slow and the damage is unrealistic. So for this mod to be good (if it gets made) it might take a bit of effort. Although if someone where to makes mod with the creation kit I think a lot of people would like it. Thanks for the reply. i like this idea, perhaps even a small quest line where a ranger has retired and moved to skyrim. then you get a note from a courier leading you to meet him and become his apprentice. i read the books to, will does become a fully fledged ranger.

This is a picture of sombody who actually managed to make one of these that worked in real life. As described in the book, it seems to dissapear into the background.

I am also a HUGE fan of the Ranger's Apprentice series, and have thus found a few mods to give a little ranger feel.

I use this mod to make bow fighting a bit more realistic and diverse: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17196

I use this mod because the bow of shadows reward at the end gives you the shadow cloak of nocturnal when sneaking, making you invisible: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4301

Hope this combo works for you, I of course use other small mods to achieve things like faster bow firing and the like, but these are the main files i use for my Ranger's Apprentice play style.
