Male hair and face pack!

Male faces are extremely tough to mod compared to female ones because of how the beards and face morphs have been set up. I've worked extensively with facial features in Skyrim and my experiences from my mods just make me not want to deal with male faces in Skyrim at all ever again. It's incredibly hard to do anything substantial and genuinely looks-improving without causing a billion clashes and clipping issues with the corresponding morph states in beards.

I know a few other people are messing around with this stuff but it takes a lot of patience, experimentation, trial and error and iteration to pull it off and produce quality content. Not to mention that good tools for this have only surfaced really recently.

And honestly, just saying 'make more stuff for men' isn't very informative to modders. HOW do they need to be improved? What do you consider a better looking man? For some people this is more effeminate guys with more sleek and symmetrical features, for some this is Conan the Barbarian, for some it's long flowing hair and for others it's short and raggedy stuff.

So please at least specify a lot more when you make requests for visual content. We're not mind readers and are influenced by our own personal tastes.

Hair:

Not many, I'm afraid.

Better Males (Warning, nudity.)

Oblivion hair pack

ApachiiskyHair

- For those who don't like ApachiiSkyHair because of how shiny it is, there is this retexture mod that makes the hair textures closer to the vanilla ones.

Male Dreadlocks

Faces:

XCE

Enchanted.

Geonox

- Black bug fix.

Better Males. (See above.)

Urshi's Fine Face textures

Younger Males

Handsome males.

Press Out the Forehead.

Other male mods that weren't exactly asked for but am including anyway:

Better Males. (Linked above)

- Also a mod that gives more variation with the male bodies. (Thin/fat.)

RibeenaNudeMales.

Den987 has some male only war paints.

Skull Warpaints.

Male idle animation replacer.

Male animation replacer.

Buffer Males.

There's also a bunch of armour/clothing mods, but kinda too many to list. =)

'All of them' isn't really useful information either considering the limitations of face modding, how much time goes into making just one complete hairstyle and how much ( = in the case of men, relatively little) can be done within a single asset batch.

A mod also needs to have art direction guiding the visual choices and it needs to stay internally consistent, and 'just do everything' doesn't work in practice at all.

This is why 'someone make more male mods' is not useful to work off of. It's completely vague and uninformative. I personally ignore nonspecific requests as I have no way of tapping into the general consciousness and absorbing what might be the most demanded solution without knowing what people actually want out of the possible changes.

Even just a picture with "I want my dude to look like this" is more useful.

Yeah, I feel the people wanting more male mods. I play mainly female characters, but even there, I consider most of the mods available as unacceptable for my characters. I don't want microbinikis or armor that looks like it was designed by Gloria's Secret. But at least there are some decent hair and body/texture mods.

That said, for males, I'm not a big fan of the Fabio look. And I especially don't like the typical male model girly hair styles I see. I look for more realistic stuff and shorter hair styles, as would befit a warrior of song and legend, both of which seem to be in very short supply out there. I think of Russell Crowe and Sean Connery as two men I've always found to have a warrior/general bad-ass look to them in a lot of their movies. So in general, hair styles for the bad-ass warrior. Here's a couple general expamples of things that are at least in the general vicinity of what I look for in male hair styles for my characters:

And here's a male character I'd love to play, hair, beard, and all... that's just a pretty, pretty man:

Another example:

Getting a bit border-line too pretty:

But for an older male character, you can't beat this:

I totally agree with whats going on here. i am a male myself and i always choose the male players. But as some have pointed out most of the "male hairs" look way too feminen for the male role. Now this is just my opinion and i have never modded before but i always wanted to see a hair replacer that fit the sort of nordic/barbarian touch that i feel belongs here. Maby something more dreaded and or thicker, more dried out; Now this could just be an added set to the originals. Never did i think the soft looking well kept, designer hair was the right aproach to skyrim. I mean no offense to the modders of course they do great work for us,i guess i should learn the trade so i could apply these ideas myself.
Edited by bennybeers

What I want(and, quite honestly, a lot of male players want) is a set of lore-friendly hairs that don't make us look "pretty". As of right now, most of the hairs I have seen have been long, flowing, unrealistic, and highly effeminate. Apparently, these modders are convinced that men want to be flamboyant examples of utter fabulousness. Or, they just want to turn guys into man-candy that they can gawk at while having erotic fantasies. My point being, we want a mod that has preferably short hair, is at least semi-lore-friendly, and won't make us look like something out of a low-budget shojo anime for lonely teenage girls.

...Vanilla Skyrim generally does that though? You have rugged, very much non-effeminate hairy muscled barbarian-grade men in badass armor already. As a character modder I generally want to work on things that have a significant visual impact. "Make more of the same but a little different" just doesn't quite cut it when there are a bazillion other things to do.

(It's funny though that your gripe with the 'man candy' is over a tiny subset of mods that for once actually put the shoe on the other foot with how female characters have been treated in the mod community since Morrowind.)

The hair thing I get, but if you want something specific done, the best way to get it is to pick up the tools and make it yourself (or learn how to if you can't yet) instead of grumbling about others not jumping to cater to your specific needs.

Some may like and want feminine males or skimpy females. It's their choice we can do nothing about it.

No offense to maker of ApachiiSkyHair. As a male character owner I prefer to be bald than use his/her male hair models. Or use skimpy female armors. I bought Skyrim to play Skyrim, not to play hentai game.

I searched for good hairstyle for men over internet but no avail. If someone make a real male hairstyle mod I'm sure he/she will get lots of endorsement.
