A very excellent list you have.

Most of the track that I have are from the website http://www.ocremix.org/ which produces remixes of popular games that are free for download. The very excellent track out there, especially the Zelda and the Final Fantasy remixes. They also have an awesome Doom album.

hmm...

Well I only listen to heavy metal during anything :D

But my favorites are megadeth and manowar :D especially manowar in arena, matches the name...

from Manowar:

Hail and Kill
Hail to England
Blood of my enemies
Demon's whip
Black wind fire and steel
power of thy sword
Spirit horse of the Cherokee
Kill with power
Blood of kings
Warriors pray (Not a song but awesome to get in mood, a story actually)
Defender
Warriors of the world united
Hand of doom

From Megadeth:

Well all the tracks they have published actually :D (I kinda love and worship Mustaine) but for some taste of Deth...

Devil's island
Conjuring
Peace sells
In my darkest hour
Hook in mouth
Holy wars...The punishment due
Hangar 18
take no prisoners
five magics
posion was the cure
lucretia
tornado of souls (My favorite, the best deth song ever...)
dawn patrol
rust in peace...polaris
this was my life
foreclosure of a dream
symphony of destruction
architecture of agression
she wolf
vortex
FFF
and so on...

I also listen to MD45 the side project of Mustaine:

Voices
The day the music died
roadman

And some Blind Guardian for every adventurer in Cyrodill:

Mirror mirror
Bard's song (in the forest)
mordred's song
the past and the future secret
To France
nightfall
Time stands still

and a little Slayer:
Angel of death
raining blood

Iron maiden:

2 minutes to midnight
Aces high
the number of the beast
the children of the damned
the trooper
the flight of icarus
the ryme of the ancient mariner
powerslave
invaders
rainmaker
the pilgrim
blood brothers
wrathchild
ghost of the navigator
dream of mirrors
holy smoke

and many many many many more...

When I listen to them? all the time :D but especially at night times nightfall is great to get in the mood and of course the bard song :D

I find that lots of Clutch songs like 'Smoke Banshee' and 'Drink to the Dead' go really well with Oblivion battles. In fact if it wasn't for the copyright thing I'd have put certain songs into certain key battles of my mods giving credit of course.

You have to replace your default sound files with these, or there is an mp3 player mod out there but trying to control music in oblivion through script is buggy to say the least.

Make sure they're kbps is a value that oblivion will play. For example, im sure oblivion wont play a song that runs at 132kbs. So it needs to be converted to another bitrate. Also know that theres no limit to songs you can have in your folders, so i dont think you need to outright replace the originals, you dont even need to new ones, just convert them into a bitrate oblivion can play.

**I use Itunes to convert all my songs to 128kbps, and im sure any factor of 16 will work!**
(example, 16,32, 64, 128....)

Try doing that and see if it works.

On the other notes, I would add all my songs like cradle of filth and whatnot to their appriopriate folders, but i dont like having songs with lyrics in them for when i play.

Great playlists everyone, Keep them coming!
