Every time I try to walk up to the Miraak temple the game either crashes to desktop or freezes requiring me to end it from task manager. It happens in the exact same spot each time and I'm clueless on how to fix it. Any help appreciated

I had a similiar problem with Dawnguard and then Dragonborn. Each time I de-activated the High res texture packs and the game worked fine.

I've noticed it tends to happen around Riften too. This is really ruining the fun of the game having to relaunch it every 5 minutes...

I bet Bethesda has released yet another buggy DLC right there, no wonder the unofficial patch for dragonborn was made shortly after release but even it hasn't solved these papyrus script issues.

I thought the CTDs came from weather mods or something similiar, but nope! It was the actual DLC.

Basically people with these looping errors will CTD in these situations as far as I know:

Moving to an exterior cell
Waiting and moving to an exterior cell
Saving and moving to an exterior cell

Also the CTD occurs randomly when the game feels like crashing too even if you didn't wait or save.

The longer you play on a save that uses the Dragonborn DLC the worse the script loop gets until you won't be able to play at all.

Sometimes I have noticed npcs sitting on invisible chairs in cities. I haven't been able to play Skyrim normally ever since I got Dragonborn DLC. Personally I haven't even got through the start of the new game because of the heavy script looping since the game CTDs only several seconds in.

On completely vanilla game the game doesn't CTD, but the script looping is still there, which is the cause for concern.

I looked for some answers to this problem in unofficial dragonborn patch comment section, and... well... people aren't experiencing this issue at all or just haven't commented about it yet.

EDIT: Lots of people have viewed this thread, how come there are only several replies in total?

EDIT 2: Apparently this isn't the only issue Dragonborn DLC is coming up with, there are other bugs around. No wonder PS3 release of Dragonborn is pushed back even more, the PC port is a good test bed for this DLC.

@Darkangelmn I'm having the same issues as you, I can mess around in ravenrock, but once I go anywhere near most of the earth stones or w/e the new stones are called in dragonborn, or anywhere near the temple, it will explode with an error similar to the ambush script or crashing with the error specifying something about the effects on the stones. Pretty much the game is useless for me, i am running pure stock skyrim no mods, fresh character and saves, so nothing is messing with it, Skyrim runs fine ,but once i get to solstheim everything goes crazy.

Unofficial high res dlc patch maybe its not so much dragonborn the issue as the HD dlc?
worth a shot anyways

I emailed bethesda, they know that the High Res pack is some of the crashing it, but it is disabled for me and still happening, I will see if bethesda can fix it, I have my hopes up, but we will see, if not I will ask for a refund due to the whole dlc more or less being useless.
