  1. I can vouch for InAComaDial999, as I have a high-powered AMD dual-core system as well. I tried the tweaks and nothing apparently happened. The setup tweaks and OSR installation InAComaDial999 mentioned will most certainly work. Of course, if you must have high resolution, then you will have to accept some stuttering. I run with a very large HP monitor, and the video drivers are not what one would call stellar. As such, there are only a few video formats that will work with my system. I've tweaked it down as far as I can get, but I still get some stuttering when I move into new cells...especially ones with several NPCs or monsters. In fact, I can usually expect an encounter when I'm running through the forest and I get a stutter. The larger problem IMHO is the nasty unexpected CTD which rears its ugly head when I least expect it.
  2. majikmonkee, if I understand what you're saying, it sounds like you want an animal companion that you can control...just like many of the companion mods, but with finer control. AFAIK, that hasn't been done. Furthermore, I doubt that you would have much control anyway, since the game AI makes decisions on who to attack etc. I've seen control where you can basically adjust the level of aggression, but that only elevates or lowers the companion's rage. If it isn't directly scripted, I don't think that it is feasible to have such fine control over a companion (beast or not).
  3. Simple. Go down to Midas' basement, step through the astral portal, run straight across the plateau to the edge, and look out in the distance. You will see a small floating island. Get there and you will find astral beacon caps on the ground. Figure out how to break the crystals and go to the astral plane, and you will find more of them. Oh, and getting to the small island requires a super jump or a levitation spell. I've never been able to make the jump, so I have always waited until I can cast levitation.
  4. Cool. I think I missed the quest. Do you know which quest these black soul gem clusters belong to?
  5. Ok, I understand that black soul gems trap souls and that they are especially good for trapping NPC souls, but OOO adds an item called "Black Soul Gem Cluster". When I have one of these in my inventory, I attempt to trap a soul -- any soul from a rat to an NPC -- but I always get the message that I don't have an empty soul gem available. Azura's Star works great for all beasts, and the normal black soul gems work just fine for NPCs, but the Black Soul Gem Cluster seems to be rather useless since it won't grab a soul from an enemy that's been Soul Trapped via spell or enchanted weapon. So, my question is: What are they for?
  6. So, in OOO, we get these black soul gem clusters. The problem is that I cannot seem to fill them with a soul. Does anyone have any idea what needs to be done to fill them with souls?
  7. Well, I would like to create a book (or 10...) that speak of heroics and such from the plane of Oblivion. The only things that we really know about that plane have to do with Mehrunes Dagon and his immortal peers. Nothing like the equivalents of Garridan, for example, are in any book. One could write about many many things and not violate existing lore or contradict existing quests. It would be logical to write these in Daedric, but that would require too much translation on the part of the player to be fun. A possible solution might be that all the legible translations were done by someone or some group long ago and the books were scattered around Tamriel over the years. Another could be that I just ignore logic and write them in English. What do you think about that?
