  1. Yeah, I do use texture mods but it makes no performance difference. I also dusted out the case. Like I said, I get 50-60 fps in maxed BF3 (only 4x AA not 8x).
  2. Some users that have CFX working with good scaling and 60fps outdoors are using CPUs MUCH less powerful than a stock 2500k/2600k. You shouldn't have to OC. People are running Phenom IIs (significantly less powerful than i7 920) with very light or no OC and getting 60fps. I only gained 3-4 FPS out of pushing my i7 to 3.4GHZ from 2.66GHZ. Don't believe ATI.
  3. Using 2x 6870s and an i7 920 I get about 25 fps outdoors and in towns average. Going down to low settings from ultra + tweaks I get 35 average. Okay, read that the CPU can be a problem. Turned off hyperthreading on my i7 920 and overclocked to 3.4GHZ from 2.66GHZ stock settings. 2-3, maybe 3-4 fps difference. Don't believe the lies. And yes, I'm using 11.11C and Skyrim is being recognized by the drivers.
  4. Blades Armor is historically accurate far as I can tell. Maybe a retexture?
  5. NO. The worst that will happen is (if Workshop is REALLY, REALLY good) Nexus becomes a den of perverts (Adult mods here only!), pirates (can't use workshop w/ pirated Skyrim), and privacy nuts (STEAM WATCHES ME SLEEP THRU WEBCAM!!!!!!). And I think that'd be pretty funny.
  6. )-) that's huge! On a helpful note, you can have Winrar split it I suppose ... but wow. Any chance of just uploading the dragon one for now?
  7. Nexus allows adult mods. Bethesda bans for discussing them on the official forums AND has a big sticky. I can guarantee Steam Workshop won't allow adult mods. Hmmmmmm ... Would you rather Nexus gets rid of all adult content and bans anyone who uploads / discusses a mod that contains it? (Better Bodies for Morrowind included)
  8. Daedric Katana is lore-friendly. Morrowind had Daedric Katanas / Tantos in vanilla. Also, real tantos are gently curved. I have one right here.
  9. Mind uploading what you have? I think a camera positioned at the base of the dragon's neck but above the dragon would be a LOT better than what we have right now (camera in the ground). I'm also not too keen on unpacking my BSAs and copying bones over, etc. Also, the .ini (skyrim.ini in mygames/skyrim) has camera settings where the Y value is NOT ignored. I tried them and they affect playable races but do nothing for things like dragons and chickens. Perhaps the addition of the player third person camera bone to dragons will let those settings work there?
  10. Sweet God. Tried that and got less than 1 FPS in the main menu.
  11. I second the request for a mod that tweaks the camera for Dragons. And maybe chickens. First mod I make post-CK will be Nightmare Mode, where you play as Cluckiin, Chickenborn! Buck Buck BUCKAAAW! <trailer music>! Peck a dragon to death! Kill a group of bandits just by clucking! Sadly, chickens cannot equip armor or weapons, and so much rely on the Thu'um and their basic attack (which scales with two-handed and counts as an axe) Chickens also gain a small amount of armor per level, leaving them somewhere between a clothed mage and a person wearing light armor (no shield). Also, other chickens might challenge you to non-lethal fights if you step on their turf.
  12. Let's get controls, stability, shouts (currently have to messily add weird dragon-specific shouts manually via console), and camera down before we worry about plot-friendly implementation.
  13. Are you using the new 11.11A/B drivers? Did switching to those drivers massively increase your FPS?
  14. I wanted this and hardcore mode (NV) added to the game. Supported. Who knows, maybe Beth left some code from Fallout 3 in there.
  15. See attached image. I want. To be. A dragon. Maybe a shout, maybe a power. Call it "Ancestral Form" or something. Turns the player into a dragon for X amount of time, allows them to use shouts freely. http://images.cheezburger.com/completestore/2011/3/11/c8eaf9e2-9fdb-4465-b524-fc768f8afe1d.jpg
