  1. Honestly, I have only seen a few reports, and so far as I can tell, the only one who didn't have anti-cheat on their system said they tried to install it (so it likely IS on their system, just running in the background ineffectively). Besides that, the mod he was using is a straight up cheating mod, not just a graphical reskin or something like perk loadouts. It was straight up cheating one of the minigames. So do I honestly think his cheating stopped at the lockpick mod? Once you have that mentality, I don't think you differentiate any longer between mod and cheat. I have not logged in since this news broke though. I am waiting to see where it goes, and if there's more bans, and what for. I use mods, and you know what, don't like it, suck my nuts. It's a Fallout game, that's what you do in a Fallout game. None of my mods give me any advantage, unless you consider some quality of life stuff like perk loadouts to be a cheat. If you do, oh well. I'm not out there trying to PvP anyways.
  2. Some folks really should get together and make a mod where instead of coming out of the vault right after everyone is dead, you come out in the final days of the conflict and try to save the wastelanders still out there. It would require a lot of work and effort, but I honestly would see it being a necessary download for any private server. Replace parts of the main quest with actual NPCs. Scatter NPCs around the wasteland, replace a good amount of scorched with raiders, etc. Just as a basis for other mods to work with, I think that doing this and repopulating the wasteland some would be step 1 to making the game a lot of fun in a modded state.
  3. Seeing as there's eventually going to be mod support, and I personally dislike how there's so little overlap of weapon categories, I was thinking the first thing I want to mod is changing how the various perks modify the various weapons. A good example of this was Fallout 4, which if you recall, had different perks for automatic and non-automatic, but several mod authors (myself included) changed this to make it so rifle perks modified ALL rifles, and the like. So, my categories for weapons if I were to split them up: Rifles (includes all automatic and non-automatic ballistic rifles) Pistols (includes all automatic and non-automatic ballistic pistols) Energy Weapons (includes all energy weapons, including heavy versions) Ordinance (all explosive weapons sans grenades) Heavy Weapons (to include minigun, heavy machine, 50 cal machinegun, as well as shotguns) Archaic Exotics (move the crossbow, black powder, railway rifle, harpoon gun, and cannon, plus possibly the throwing knife and tomahawk if possible) Advanced Exotics (crylator, gauss rifle, flamer, syringer) Melee weapons (one and two handed) Punching Weapons (all of the unarmed weapons, possibly wrapping basher into this) That's how I would reorganize, and make things make a little more sense. I would say there's some weapons that do make me wonder where I would put them, like the gatling laser and gatling plasma. Should they remain heavy weapons, should they just get put in with energy weapons? Sssuming you are replacing some of the perks, do they stay in Str, Per, and Agi, or do you move some into intelligence like the energy weapons and ordinance?
  4. So, I've been working on a mod that essentially rips artificial light sources out of the majority of the game (because who is maintaining those fires exactly?) and I ran into an unforseen consequence. Well, I'm pretty much invisible now. If I put on night vision and try to sneak through with decent stealth but no stealth boosting items, I am... invisible. I've downloaded mods to increase the detection rate, and still nothing. I have to essentially bump into the skeletons/draugr for them to interact with me. If I toss out a light spell, they see me just fine then. But without any light sources they can't see diddly. So, can anyone think of a way that I can get skeletons and draugr to see as well in the pitch dark as they do in daytime? I don't think undead with glowing eyes should be night blind, it just seems silly.
  5. I really like this actually. I have so far uploaded two of my mods to the Nexus, one popular, and one fledgling, to see what the pains would be on Bethesda.net, and I do intend to continue porting my mods over. However, the more I watch the PC section of that site, the more I think I may only upload for consoles to Bethesda.net. I have yet to receive a single comment on the PC upload, but many comments on the XB1 uploads. Console users deserve to be able to get mods, however as an author, I don't think that the times for release on PC and release on consoles will be too close. I already had several problems specific to either consoles or to Bethesda.net, like not being able to confirm all the files got uploaded (which they did not, leading to a major issue in one of my mods). I'm probably going to only upload onto consoles when I know that the mod is stable and won't be changing much. Bethesda.net doesn't give useful tools like a bug report section, or the ability to upload optional versions of the mod (like compatibility patches between it and other mods). Therefore, anything that gets uploaded onto Bethesda.net has to be encapsulated.
  6. In response to post #37743310. #37754675 is also a reply to the same post. I myself have never been a fan of ads, so I hit that middle ground, because I do really love the Nexus, and became a supporter for that reason. I still block you tube ads, especially now that they have started doing the "commercial break" bs on their videos. I listen to videos on you tube to help me get to sleep, there's special relaxation videos out there for that purpose, and getting an earful of a loud advert while trying to sleep is my top 'first world problem'.
  7. Alright, I am back online, posting this from my computer again. I fixed all the little issues, reinstalled my drivers and all, and everything seems to be working again. I've been updating my game, getting the creation kit, and all that jazz. I am loading up my mods in the creation kit, starting with Nick Valentine's day. Maybe the CK can finally answer what all of those unknown values did.
  8. The computer finally showed up today. I will get back to you all in a couple hours when I am all set back up, and make sure there was no damage to the hard drives (which I did not send in because I didn't trust them with them). Wish me luck!
  9. Considering that my CPU burned out on me even WITH the liquid cooling, yeah, I'd say I had needed it. It wasn't a full loop system though, it was only to the CPU as a direct heat sink. Even then, it fried. So yeah, I had chosen a CPU that was as powerful as I could get, and I got the instability to go with it. I ended up downgrading from an AMD 9590 to what was it, 8350? Yeah, that sounds like it. I hate to go down in speed, but -supposedly- it is far more stable and only slightly less powerful. I really hope I will not regret that decision, but everything I look up seems to suggest it as well.
  10. In the past, I have always built my own computer. When it came to this one, it was all liquid cooling and yadda yadda, and the pricetag seemed pretty dang close to what I would have paid if I did build it myself. In the end, really, the only downside was the time it took. If -anything- other than the CPU had been the problem, I would have fixed it myself. Anyhow thank you. It has mostly been killing me with the timing. I really -want- to be working on my mods right now. So yeah, I didn't want anyone to think otherwise! :p
  11. Big Edit: Okay, I am officially back, and I've begun releasing updates for some of my mods. I will be getting caught up soon. I am also trying to figure out what all the new Far Harbor DLC has changed. There's definitely been some effects on my mods. The rest below is just for posterity's sake, aka, my original post: If anyone is wondering what this is for, I am linking to it on my mod's pages. I've been out of commission because of my computer and I wanted to have a singular place for all of my mods to link to to show updates. So, if you all didn't know from the comments of my various mods, I am currently without a computer more powerful than my smart phone. All I have is a really old laptop, and I can't get Fallout 4 working on there. How did this happen? Well, I had a nice AMD FX-9590 CPU, and it fried on me. Evidently this is a problem with that processor, but thankfully it was still under warranty. The catch? I have to send the computer across the US to get it worked on. So for the last three weeks my computer has been shipped across the US at a snail's pace, worked on, and shipped back (to the wrong address no less), and is now being rerouted. If it wasn't the CPU, I swear I would have fixed it myself, but I didn't intend to shell out for another CPU. Because of the shipping mistake, it is -now- scheduled to be here Friday. I want to assure everyone that I will be getting myself back up and running as soon as FedEx and iBuyPower can get their act together and get me my damn computer back already! I'll be finishing up the updates intended to come out before the GECK, and then I will be getting myself nice and acquainted with the GECK. (It is in open BETA now right? So I can download it whenever?) Either way, I wanted to inform all of you because I want to assure you I have not been goofing off, ignoring you, or intentionally not updating. This has all been out of my power (ironically given the company I purchased from), and I will be getting everything back on track as -soon- as I can. Thank you for all of your patience. This really couldn't have happened at a worse time, but such is my luck. (That is definitely not what makes -me- S.P.E.C.I.A.L.) Luck Stat: -3 Edit: IT HAS BEEN DELIVERED! Edit 2: Online and operational!
  12. In response to post #37050155. Same here.
  13. I probably should have remembered about this forum earlier, moving my post here for now: Is there a condition I can use that will act like that? I just want to set something up to work only if the Pipboy Light is currently on. How would I go about doing that?
  14. Question, is it trigger -by- walking up to Ada, or is it triggered a specific time after the end of the fight? I noticed some mods which modify certain explosions. I was thinking, maybe a robot is trying to explode, but having a conflict with one of those mods?
