  1. So I've noticed something after quite a few playthroughs of Skyrim. Normally I don't bother using followers, because they get in the way, die a lot, and get stuck so I spend forever waiting or shouting them out of tight spots. Conjured creatures are largely the same - at low levels they're great, but I assume because they don't scale they get very weak at level 20+. After playing on Master lately, I've noticed that followers and conjures both are damn near invincible. They either have so much defense or health that they can just sit there tanking a drouger deathlord, where as I would get killed in two hits. Does anyone know why this happens? Is there some sort of weird scaling based on difficulty or something? Even on Expert they still die a ton unless you deck them out in the best gear available.
  2. I'm not sure if this is only happening to me or not, but I didn't find anything about this by googling it. The only similar thing I found was at the Elder Scrolls Wiki, under Harkon's Sword: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Harkon's_Sword Is this a bug, or an actual feature? The screen gets darker and darker with each successive hit, and it blacks out so much I literally can't see anything. My Realistic Lighting Overhaul mod may be increasing the effect or something, but it's driving me insane haha. Is there a mod to disable this?
  3. http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa62/nate1232/th_ScreenShot3-1.png It's showing the conjuration spell effect while just wielding the staff. Sometimes its there and sometimes its not, it usually goes away if I put my weapons away and take them out again, but it comes back if I equip the staff from any other weapons.
  4. The exact same thing happened to me yesterday. I revived him with the console command "ressurect", but Ysolda was running his shop still, and had no wares to sell and for some reason would only buy the armor I have equipped and nothing else.
  5. Healing on my 2h class has always been a bit of a hassle for me. I don't like potions, and switching to a spell leaving me defenseless is a no no. What I think would benefit many melee or archery players is an instant cast heal that can be accessed simply by pressing one of the hotkeys. Spamming would be an issue, so the spell would probably have to have a short cooldown (2-3 seconds). I'm not sure if to compensate for the spell being instant cast that they would have to be a bit weaker than the healing spells in the same tier that have a cast time. EDIT** Maybe an easier way of incorporating this would be to make one heal classified as a shout. The higher tiers would be accessed by holding down the shout button longer just like a regular shout. This would make it more lore friendly being a shout, easy to use, and easier to implement a cooldown.
  6. I made a post about the same thing, but I don't think a buff/debuff timer is possible until the CK comes out
  7. Enchanting is great. As soon as you get the banish daedra enchant even at low level enchanting, an iron dagger is worth 5000, sells for 1000 or so depending on your barter
  8. Voted yes, mages shouldn't need stupid lockpicks. It'd probably an alteration spell just to make more sense if it were to unlock it, or destruction if you're just gonna blow up the chest with pressure :P
  9. This is whats always bothered me about archery is that there is no pet. I'd go conjuration but it means putting points in magicka and a whole other tree. I think the first perk in archery should give an ability to tame animals. and maybe a new branch on the archery tree just to improve the pets. Most of your ideas won't work until the CK comes out though
  10. Agreed. I love the flames spell, and the other spells like it. It makes sense it does less damage than on target spells because its so easy to hit the enemy, but the spells like firebolt can be way too hard to hit with in a heated battle. I was really disappointed when I found out wall of flames wasn't an improved version.
  11. I agree in a way. I find that spells - especially destruction if you're a destruction mage - cost way too much. An expert level conjuration spell costs what, 70 or so magicka per shot single hand? At that level of destruction, the enemies have leveled up enough that they take 6+ shots to kill. After 3 or 4 you're pretty much out of mana, and only one enemy has been taken down, if you're fighting multiple enemies you're screwed. I found that 0 magicka is way too overpowered, especially with the dual wield staggering perk. I changed my magicka reduction to about 88%. This way I can cast 15 or more expert level destruction spells, take out 2 or 3 medium strength enemies before I'm out of magicka. In fights against tougher enemies, you actually run out of magicka and I just find it more fun than running out after 4 or 5 casts. And I've stopped dual wielding, because nothing can ever hit you that way
  12. What do you mean the 1-8 keys? As far as I know in vanilla there is no way to set anything to hotkeys, only the favourites menu
  13. Happens to me with dead dragons, especially in winterhold or the mage's college
  14. I know this is no help at all, but that sounds like it'd be pretty awesome. For a while anyways
  15. What version are you using? I updated to 1.3 and when I loaded skyrim, no options like continue or new game showed up for me so I had to revert back to original
