  1. In response to post #45632520. Gotta make that extra cheese before the holidays.
  2. I'll give that a shot but since I soon won't be able to renew the student serial # I wonder how much good that would do. Thanks though, I'll work from there.
  3. Hi ppl, I've had the 2012 version for almost 3 years and it will be expiring soon. Of course I use it frequently for modding and have so many plugins that are Skyrim orientated that are dependent on the 2012 version. Like the Nifskope exporter, skeleton rigs etc.. What can I do? I want to continue modding my Skyrim but 3DS Max 2012 is no longer available on Autodesk.com Any help whatsoever is so appreciated. Thanks, D
  4. In response to post #34909225. #34911540, #34912605, #34914740, #34916115, #34916775, #34923105, #34926225 are all replies on the same post. 100% agreed with kebrus on this. They know the capability of the modders now following the modding community's success with Skyrim. Business wise it is not wise to give consumers the ability to create content at no cost rather than only have paid content available. Its really obvious, any notion aside from the aforementioned derives from being naive. Whether it is right or wrong is none of our business as the consumer.
  5. Do me a favor, don't be that guy who rats on potential competition to get rid of them before they become his competition while spreading a thick layer of B.S. on top so ppl think he did it for some heroic reason.
  6. You're very worried about this. I can see why, the free promotion on this site of downloading free mods is great business and you have made good money off of this of course through ads and so forth. Being worried about this new development can be a strain on your business. I know you may worry about ppl pulling their major mods off of your site and putting them on Steam for $$$ that may I add they do deserve. But don't worry, you'll still get traffic and so forth. Those vacays you have to put off that are funded by the income you generate from the traffic of users seeking the mods on this site are well of being put of. Come up with an incentive for the mod authors that make you money by generating traffic through your site via ads wanting views and so forth and you'll be fine. Don't bring on a campaign of "why modding should not be commercialized etc" but rather be real and give the ppl/mod authors a reason to stay and post and in the end make you money and get something out of it themselves.
  7. Exactly, they inspire creations and of course mods do the same in respect to images created. Fabulous point you make here.
  8. Honestly, I think that this decision is not very smart. If I were you I would not do such a stupid thing. Try instead to find a way in which all parties to the causes remain satisfied without starting a conflict, which in the end will hurt you economically. As already suggested, make it a privilege for the premium members of Nexus. I would pay for this, but without, I would not see any reason to support economically this site. Use your head, if there is demand for a service, create a bid for that service. To support my earlier post, I believe this would be the best way to go. For all parties or those interested. Although the driving force behind Nexus is the amount of accessibility one receives for the cost of nothing but in no way or another do I see whatever premium costs that are deposited into Nexus' capital unwelcomed, hence the recent revamp in methods of payment. In the end, Robin can do what he pleases with Nexus and its features and he has done so very well from what I have read online versus other sites that offer such services. But the ability to download a mod and show it in game and share it is fabulous coupled with the style of how many do so in adding additional images that tell a story or to promote upcoming mods with various images depicting so is even better. Basically you get a community that offers free artistic advertisement whilst built upon a foundation which is the Nexus community. The Nexus community being built mainly by two components; modders & screenarcher's. Removing or altering the facilitation of either to express oneself explicitly is a hindrance within the chemistry of the community as a whole. But to make the change whilst providing it as a premium service is ingenious as it limits the amount of those who will use it thus resolving the issue at hand and hell, who knows, you acquire more members thus more funds put into Nexus.
  9. I really wouldn't think so, at the least I hope not. If it would, it would not be in the best interest of Nexus as it would make the site seem like a site with issues as it would be an image section with a lot of broken links. Very ugly at that.
  10. WOW... Took me a while but I read the entire thread and as an alleged screenarcher myself I have one suggestion for the box: The Nexus & The Archers & Storytellers can all win. Incorporate the privilege of this function (that I use as well and love) as a benefit of becoming a premium member. As a business guy myself I see opportunity where most see none and this an opportunity for both sides. We (the PRINTSCREEN addicts) get to keep our fix and Nexus gets a buck more that goes towards the well being of the site. Humans are rather simple to be frank, we want what we do not have. I/e when I joined Nexus I was here for the mods and then saw all the wonderful images. I wanted that. I asked how to and learned. (thank you Willow, Tairen, VickG etc.) Case in point, we get asked all the time by new members "hey what mod is that?", "what ENB is that?", "hair?" etc...... Well, how about "hey, how did you post that series?" Answer..."I'm a premium member, join." I know Nexus is primarily free, trust me I know that. But offering a premium membership with more benefits than d/l history, faster d/l, supporter's sec, increased cap on daily image uploads will be better for everyone. New members will see our series' and will want to follow suit and Nexus gets more premium members thus acquiring more funds for maintenance and so forth.
  11. In response to post #8163889. Apparently you DO NOT seem to understand that you nor I are privileged. Think about how much you spent on your membership.....then how MUCH you download.....be content. For you and my membership is a donation for their efforts not a demand for services returned. Be grateful, as I am for what we did not have and what we do have.
  12. Good Afternoon, As of maybe 2 weeks or so whenever I download using NMM it uses the Kent, UK server. Geographically speaking it might not be relevant because I live in Miami, FL USA but it is extremely slow. Literally, every time I use NMM it is the Kent server and we're talking about 7-35 kps. My internet is 30mps and I have always had fast downloads on Nexus but for some reason the Kent server doesn't cut it. I have considered manually downloading just be able to be on a different server, which isn't a big deal since I know how to manually install but its tedious. Any ideas on why I get Kent, UK? - DJEKMIAMI
  13. Have you donated or purchased anything on Nexus, if so that is why. If not, then I do not know.
  14. Despite that many or some are being affected by this I feel for you guys at Nexus. This must be stressful and a pain in #$%^. Once I get a Paypal setup, I will donate to the site because this is a lot of work that and you guys really took my gaming to whole other level. I used to be an console only guy but after repeatedly seeing all this mod stuff on the net I bought a pc. Now my ps3 is collecting dust and my wife is hating me for all the hours I spend on this site. I feel wrong not donating something at the least for all the wonderful creations you give us access to at no cost but a hit on the site. Thanks and good luck.
  15. Wow, good job hacker. You finely are getting noticed as a living and breathing human being unlike before when you were insignificant. Hopefully this improved your sex life.
