Quicksave doesn't work

Whenever I quicksave skyrim I get the quicksaving notice on the corner of my screen. After having to close skyrim when I came back none of my quicksaves had worked. I did a quick test and noticed they weren't even showing up in the load section of my menu. Manual saves and autosaves still work. Any help is apreciated.

Quick saves overwrite each other, as do autosaves. It's been a long time since I used either, but so I could be wrong, but they may also overwrite each other.

There are a few reasons why you might be better of without either:

Both are only partial saves, that is, they save only the changes not the whole file.

Both overwrite an existing slot rather than a new one.

Every time you overwrite an existing file, you are increasing your chance of save corruption. If you are relying on this type of save, when the corruption occurs, the only solution is to go back to your last working full save, and you may end up loosing hours, or days, of play.

 

Disabling auto and quick saves, then making dull saves in a new slot each time, can drastically decrease save file corruption problems and make reverting to an earlier save much less painful if corruption does occur.
