SkyUI: Favorite Groups reset when turning into Vampire Lord

Hi everyone!

 

Since I found no answers on the net, tried fixing the problem myself for several hours and got no suggestions after posting/commenting on the SkyUI mod page, I try my luck here in this forum.

 

I installed SKSE (1.6.16) with the installer, SkyUI (4.1) with NMM and used BOSS to set up my load order.

The changes log of SkyUI 4.1 says:

 

 

Transforming into a Vampire Lord no longer resets group data.

 

 

But nevertheless, whenever I change into a VL, my favorite groups disappear.

 

Does anyone have an idea, what could cause this issue?

To avoid being regarded as a spammer, I'll try to ask a more specific question.

 

Can someone please try to explain me, how SkyUI manages the mentioned feature (not resetting the group data). Perhaps I can find out by myself, what mods may be conflicting or what else could be the problem.

 

I would be very happy, if some helpful person could afford a few minutes to help me with my problem.

I hope someone does have the answer, as this just happened to me after my first change back from a Vampire Lord. All groups were wiped.

It's happening to me too. :sad: No idea how to fix it, but if I have to choose between VL & groups, I guess groups will have to go.

OK, I figured it out! I was using both an old version of SkyUI and SKSE. Upgraded to skse 6.1.6, SkyUI 4.1, and still the groups disappeared when I transformed to VL form ... however, now, when I revert form, they're back!

 

Groups would not logically be available in VL form anyway (they're for changing equipment, which VL isn't using), so this fixes my issue.

 

Hope this helps someone, although from your initial post it seems like you already tried upgrading.

 

By the way, I'm not using BOSS.

Hi,

I had the same problem. I have the latest SKSE and SkyUI updates installed for months, but I only recently installed Dawnguard. After playing as a Vampire Overlord and reverting to my normal character, my groups did not re-appear.

I found your posts in the forum and the same question in the SkyUI comments, but no answers.

Finally, after a whole day of searching and trying (and a good night sleep) I found a solution:

• uninstall SkyUI
  
• start the game
  
• save and quit
  
• reinstall SkyUI (and run BOSS)
  
• restart the game and the groups will no longer disappear.
  

I think (but I am not sure of this!) the console fix mentioned in the Troubleshooting section of the SkyUI description also does the trick.

HOWEVER :wink:

When you apply the steps above - or use the console fix - ALL YOUR MCM SETINGS WILL BE RESET and any changes you made will have to be re-entered. So it's best to write down all the settings you changed in SkyUI itself, a matter of time, Imaginator and/or any other MCMenu's you have installed. (If you don't do this before resetting SkyUI, you can always find your settings back by reloading an older save game).

Hope this will help someone. If anyone knows a better workaround or if I am wrong and the problem is not caused by installing Dawnguard after the SKSE and SkyUI updates, please let me know.
