Crashes on Entering Understone Keep

Every time I try to enter Understone Keep in Markath, the game crashes to desktop.

Has anyone else experienced this? I got the note from Calcelmo ages ago and have a Dwarven Battle Axe for him, and I just got the Stallion Potion for the Jarl, but I cannot get inside to complete the quests.

I don't know which mods might be causing this, but the last entries in the Papyrus log always seem to be for Real Shelter. Disabling the mod does not help.

Would using CoC to teleport in work?

Cheers!

Hi. Papyrus is not a crash log. It would be much better if you installed a crash logger and generated a crash log, since this may tell you what mod is responsible for the crashing.

For Skyrim SE 1.5:

For Skyrim SE/AE 1.6:

For Skyrim LE:

Excellent, thanks for that!

I knew that the game would crash before the crashing offender gets actually logged, but I didn't know there were actual crash loggers!

Cheers!

:D

PS By the way, I am running SLE (I should have said that at the start) and using CoC sort of works, but it still crashes the game.

  • 2 weeks later...

Well, I tried that crash logger, and all it identified were a few *.dll files from mods I no longer use. But deleting those did not help at all.

But after disabling many mods, it turns out it was the official Hi-Res Texture packs! Once inside the place, I can re-enable them again and all is well!

While I was removing those dll files I also upgraded a lot of mods to the latest version for SLE 1.9. So I can restore some mods I disabled as well.

Cheers!
