Yes, the problem is that "Mine and Cut Gems" has about 300 recipes for turning Raw Gem Ore into 4 types of cut gems (Flawed, Normal, Fine, Flawless) and also 12 different cuts (square, trilliant, emerald, oval and so on). I did not want to have to duplicate all those. The author has lost interest in Skyrim and has said that anyone can take over the mod. His version 7 cannot be opened in the CK, so I am still using version 6. Version 7 would have allowed making gemmed jewellery, rather than just cut gems. But I do not want to just merge his mod with mine at the moment. I could try placing a Gem Cutter in the Inn or local store in Riverwood inside his mod, I suppose. The locations of Gem Cutters is a little inconvenient. I do like the idea of reworking the mod as it's own thing, and tying the recipes to Smithing level and Perks. EG SP Jewel Smithing Arcane Smithing Gem Cutting 100 95 Gem Cutter - Master 90 85 Jewel Smith 80 75 Gem Cutter - Expert 70 65 Goldsmith 60 Arcane Smithing 55 Gem Cutter - Adept 50 45 Silversmith 40 35 Gem Cutter - Apprentice 30 25 Finesmith 20 15 Basic Smithing Silversmith, Arcane Smithing and Gem Cutter would all need Finesmith. But this creates too many perks (20 instead of 10) and would also need reworking the crafting of Rings, Amulets and Circlets and so on, as well as some weapons and armour. The beauty of Mine and Cut Gems is that the skills need certain books, manuals and tools to be in inventory. The Read Me on the Mod page also says a certain Smithing Skill is needed, but I can't see that in the CK so it might be an old Read me. For my Death Hound smithing I didn't require perks beyond Basic Smithing, but did require a Smithing Skill of 30, so that's doable. Mine and Cut Gems required skills above 100 for Emeralds and Diamonds, though, so I don't know what he did there. Shame version 7 cannot be opened in the CK. There's a long pause and then it crashes.   2. No, the answer is very simple. Use the console to type: player.AdvSkill Pickppocket 1 and this forces the skill to advance, and give me all the levels I didn't get. :rolleyes:
  3. My Pickpocket got to 16 and then I decided to read three skill books I had saved. But the skill would not level up with two of them, no noize or anything. But I got the Da-DUMM! sound for the third, but it still did not rank up! So now it is stuck at 16 with the progress bar filled, but I cannot level it up! Which is a bit of a pain, since this character is meant to Sneak up on people and monsters and poison them by reverse pick pocketing a Venom potion into their inventory! I tried "inpcs pickpocket", but nothing happens. I did a Google and found that this is a known, intermittent bug, and has been frequent with Pickpockets. And I just cleared the Honeymead Goldenglow island quest thingy for the Thieves Guild so I could get training, but the Trainer just takes my money! Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?   4. My (unreleased) Alchemy Mod is also a house mod, with a nice cottage in Riverwood, behind the inn, and a smelter etc outside. I also use the Mine and Cut Gems mod and added a gem cutting station next to the Armour work table. But it doesn't work. If I load both mods (with my mod active) in the Creation Kit, add the Gemcutter keyword to my copy of the Gemcutting Work Station, it saves fine. But it will not work in-game and when I load my mod in the CK again, the Gemcutter keyword has been removed. I cannot even seem to make Mine and Cut Gems required by my mod as a parent. I can make a duplicate of the Keyword, but that also does not work, because all the COBJ recipes are linked to the Gemcutting Work Station by the Gemcutter keyword. I cannot make a separate Gemcutter keyword for my mod as it already exists in Mine and Cut Gems. Any ideas? Could I make an Alias to use in my mod that will point to the Gemcutter keyword in Mine and Cut Gems, or something like that? Cheers!
  5. Well, the only thing I can think of is that the game updated the esm files and so I was using newer versions and not the ones I cleaned in 2013. So maybe this caused some sort of shifting and the NPC fell through the ground? I replaced the esm files with back ups of the cleaned files, and made a new character and had no problem. Cheers!
  6. That sounds maddening. I didn't have this problem when I made my Sun, Moon and Star spells, but that was years ago. I got the colours how I wanted. The only thing I can think of is something you probably already know only too well: and that is to test any changes on a saved game that has never had your mod loaded in it. Otherwise, things can be "baked in" and any changes you make do not take effect. Good luck.
  7. I don't recall which quest stage, but the Wiki should help. Years ago I used to use "MOAR Dragons!" or something, but if you wanted to play through with dragon attacks but not as the Dragonborn, it might be interesting to see if you could learn any Shouts without being called by the Greybeards. I just killed Alduin last night in my current play through. I've done that only once before, so I'm interested to see if I still get random dragons. I was wondering why there were so few dragon attacks in my game for such a long time, she's level 264! But I have a lot more Words of Power than I have dragon souls to activate! All the Best.   8. Probably best not to mess with quest stages unless you really know exactly what you are doing, very, very well indeed. EG why would you feel you need to do this? Have you done the Whiterun dragon quest and been to see the Greybeards? :)

I am playing a Paladin, so no thieving, sneaking, stealing, pickpockets, burglary etc, although taking things from dungeons, undead and Daedra is fine as part of the Crusade to rid the world of Evil and grant the gift of Peace Eternal to the Undead filth of Tamriel. But so many doors and chests are locked! I have a mod for bashing locks Morrowind, but it wears out the weapon way too fast. Is there anything for Skyrim? Cheers! :)
  11. I made a mod years ago and it's always worked perfectly. There's a disgraced Vigilant of Stendarr lying dead on the road to Bleak Falls Barrow and he has a silver mace, a journal that starts the quest, an edict telling him why he was booted from the order and a few other things. But with this new character at level 4, he's gone! I loaded the character at level 2 and he was there, so I used tcl to float through the ground and there he is! What could cause this? I must have done more than a dozen play throughs with no problem at all, both with just the quest for The Golden Claw and with both that one and the one from Farengar. It's like his collision got turned off partway through my game, somewhere between level 2 and 4. Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers! :)
  12. It depends what you are looking for, I suppose. There are many good graphics overhauls, although I don't like the ones that turn Skyrim into a tropical paradise. I prefer the traditional Nordic Taiga, Tundra, Polar with deciduous in the South. There are numerous recommended mod sets for graphics of land, trees, water, towns and cities and so on. And there are several radical overhauls of Skyrim. The first that springs to mind is Requiem. I've never used it so I cannot recommend it from that point of view. I think I did try it once many years ago when it was very incomplete. They had completed the Illusion tree and made dungeons more dangerous. But I am sure it is much more complete now. :)
  13. I use BR_HoodCirclets.esp. Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but it allows hoods and circlets to be used together, and I think helmets with either a circlet of a hood. I use them for enchanted items to buff Smithing and Alchemy, as well as a Two Rings mod and Cloak, so I can get 7 buffs of each crafting skill. :)
  14. No idea, sorry, but I do know that when you buy Breezehome you also have to pay separately for furnishings. I assume other homes in Skyrim are the same. Breezehome is the only player home I have ever bought, as I have a much better House Mod in Riverwood. I also still play SLE rather than SSE. But you have to use mods designed for SSE if that is what you are playing. There may be some conflict with a mod, and load order is also important. A list of mods and load order might help others work it out for you. Good Luck! :smile:
  15. It is not crashing before the loading screen? That is often caused by having a mod listed in PlugIns.txt and/or LoadOrder.txt that does not exist on your system. Another thing could be using mods for SLE when you are actually running SSE or some other version of Skyrim, or vice versa. You are using "Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp", so I assume you are playing SSE. It's important to make sure all the mods are designed for SSE if that is what you are playing. Many older mods have been ported to SSE by the author, but it can also be done by opening the mod in the SSE Creation Kit and saving, but I've never done it and I don't know the details. Mods that are hopelessly conflicted can also cause problems. For example, you have "SurvivalMode.esl". Are you meant to be using: iNeed.espiNeed - Extended.espWetandColdFrostfall.esp as well? I am still playing SLE, and I still use Realistic Needs and Diseases, so I don't know how SSE Survival Mode actually works or what its requirements are, or its compatibilities. My GTX600 Graphics card burned out several times on my desk top playing Morrowind years ago, with very few mods. They replaced it twice, and then sent me a GTX700. I don't know anything about laptops, but it sounds ominous. Does it work OK for everything else, and other games? Hopefully, someone else can be more helpful. Good Luck. :smile:

  17. No, I will never use a Mod Mangler. So, there IS no file that controls load order, it's done by DATE MODIFIED of the esm and esp files? Strewth! Modding Skyrim is so much easier! I got the original Morrowind and DLC when they came out on disk, then GotY edition. I've not played it since 2015, and I've forgotten everything I knew! I'm only using about 15 mods, anyway. So if I change the load order by moving eps files up and down in Wrye Mash and Save, that will automatically change the date modified and load things correctly? Cheers, thanks for the help! :D
  18. I tried Wrye Mash and it seems to be OK, but it changed the dates of my own mods for some reason. At first, Wrye Mash didn't seem to do anything, but there's a tiny, unmarked thing I could click on that said Update, IIRC, and then I could save. But where is the actual load order stored? Skyrim has LoadOrder.txt and PlugIns.txt, so what does Morrowind have and where is it? Thanks for the replies :D
  19. I've had Morrowind (and DLC) since the week of release, then got GotY. Just as I had Daggerfall , Oblivion and Skyrim since the week of release. In fact, I tend to get a new PC when my old one just will not play a new TES game, as I did with this one when Skyrim came out! So as soon as TES VI comes out, I'm off to Chillblast again! :D Anyway, I've not really played Morrowind for about 8 years, and now I'm trying to get my mods working properly. Is there a decent Menu/Inventory mod? I cannot play Skyrim without SkyUI and Configured Favorites Menu, and I'd like some sort of similar thing for Morrowind. Preferably items sorted by All Weapons Armour Clothing Magick Alchemy Potions Misc Something like that. Cheers! :D
  20. Why is my Morrowind.ini always doing this? GameFile0=Bloodmoon.esmGameFile1=Morrowind.esmGameFile2=Tribunal.esm I manually reorder them and change the numbers, load a game, close and they've been put back. Wrong! So how can I make a permanent change to my Morrowind load order? I used the latest Morrowind Code Patch and XGE XE with MWSE. Maybe they did the mods alphabetically or something? Or could I make my changes manually and then make Morrowind.ini read only? This is the load order it's forcing It even puts the Mistform fix BEFORE House of Mannequins. Cheers!
