[WIP] Khargonitts - New Playable Race

I'm currently making my first playable race and am trying to make it perfect. But it's not going to beasy. Thought I would make this thread to see if there is anyone interested in assisting me or seeing what I got so far. But let's start at the beginning...

What is a Khargoniit?

Khargoniits (Car- Go- Knee- Its) are a hybrid race of Argonian and Khajiit that was created in the early second era after a male Argonain and a female Khajiit fell in love. They prayed to the gods for a child and they were blessed with one, a son they named Mar-Kay, after Mara and Arkay, the two gods who gave them their boy. Soon, Mar-Kay grew lonely and was blessed with a wife, Faleen, and a adopted son, Seeks-The-Light. But tragedy struck when a group of rogue Argonians took Faleen for themselves, and conceived a child within her. Over time, the family grew before it bloomed into a whole new race. They only just become members of the Empire. They tend to be cautious but characteristic beings, fierce and determined warriors, shrewd traders, silent scouts and talented illusionists.

Khargoniits range in appearance from being almost lizard like with furry features to the exact opposite of being Khajiit-like with horns and scales. Males tend to be more Argonian-styled with slender but muscled bodies, horns and a mane. Females are rounder, but no less musculur, with softer fur, less scales and cat-like faces. Fur and scales can come in a wide range of colours, from the outright bright and ye-hurting to the soft and subtle. Fur and scales colour never differs from one another (ie, brown fur will always mean brown scales) but feathers and manes can differ greatly from one another.

Oh, and any comments saying, "This isn't possible", "Beast can't breed with each other" or "You suck! This isn't lore-friendly!" will be ignored. Yes, I accept criticism but not ignorance. One, I KNOW it isn't possible, but it's fun to dream, right? Two, yes, I know, but if you saw the backstory, you would realise they never have. And three, it's going to be an lore friendly as possible, so shush.

Appearance

This image here shows what I am trying to replicate in-game:

The top left is a typical Khargoniit male (just needs ears) while the bottom right is a typical female. This will be the look I will attempt to achieve. Do you see how neither is furry or scaly? That's what I'm going to try and achive in game.

Stats, Abilities and Powers

Khrgoniits are a good all rounders in terms of gameplay, but lean more the the combat side. As stated above, they make great warriors, scouts, illusionists and traders. The exact stats will be posted below (and which are subject to change if I feel the need to).

Illusion - 5

One Hand - 5
Sneak - 5
Speech - 5
Two Hand - 5
Archery - 10

They also have two passive abilities - Khargoniit Claws, which does 8 points of damage per strike, and they are completely resilient to poison, but only half as disease resistance. Their racial power is Shadow Sight - a toggle ability like Night Eye. They can use their advanced eyes to see living things for 60 seconds and can turn it on and off at will.

Progress

I have a fair way to go until I can release this but any advice, tips, help or just support is welcome! I have currently got the Khajiit body just on an Argonian head for a start and in the progress of learning to retexture it so it's less scaley and more furry, plus vice versa with the body. Next, I will be adding hairstyles to the race and attempting to merge horns and hair together for convenience's sake. After that, it'll be tweaking the facial structure. After that, I think the final thing to do would be to place a fair few NPCs in the world to properly integrate them into the world and new presets before releasing it for download. I dislike releasing mods before they're finished so expect not to see this for a while as it is a huge learning process for me.

Created race - Done!
Replaced body with Khajiit texture - Done!
Add hairstyles - In progress...
Add custom hair styles - Not started
Retexture face and body - Not started
Tweak facial structure - Not started
Create NPCs - Not started
Create presets - Not started
Release - ?

And that's all there is to it! Keep an eye on this thread for more updates!

Actually, this shouldn't be to hard to do, to a basic extinct. If you start trying to make entirely new head meshes, it will get complicated...

To be honest, I'd like to see this expanded into a 'half breeds' mod, I mean, why is everyone in skyrim so damn pure blooded? I know of one half human orc in oblivion, but that's about it. lol

Re-textures of the head and body should be easy enough, if work intensive. Someone retextured the summonable dragon to be scaly and bird-like with feathers. Truly awesome. After retexturing, your Khargoniit will look less like a head and body joined by Dr. Frankenstein and more like a seamless creature.

In Oblivion, it was easy to take the 3D head out of the game, model it, and place back into game with no issues. I made half-human half-argonian creatures which looked seamless. Kinda looked like Lord Voldermort actually lol.

I have not tried to find the way to do that with Skyrim, since I haven't done anything in years. I imagine you could merge the Khajiit and Argonian heads (just to see the features in juxtaposition) and set min and max extremes for the features. This way, you get rid of the Khajit and Argonian looks and make something truly unique, in the middle. And it might avoid a headache with head armor, since their new features (except horns) shouldn't pop out of existing pieces. You'll need to fix a lot of floating hair though I bet.

I find this stuff not difficult to do, just time consuming to learn and look up answers to issues. I wish the wiki was full of more detailed information.
