Removing Field Grass From the Doorway of House MOd

Ok Peeps I Have an issue with grass (from what I understand it's the modders bane). I want to remove the grass from the entrance of a player house. TES Alliance has an excellent tutorial on using the landscape editor to do just that. The only issue I'm running in to is there is not a nograss version of the texture I'm finding in front of the door. In fact there are several types of grasses in the pallet. I right clicked on several locations in front of the door and found at least four types of grass textures. There is a fall dirt/leave texture as well. I'm at a standstill with this and would appreciate any suggestions on this issue.

I guess my question is, is there a way to actually eliminate the grasses in front of the door by using the existing fallleave/dirt texture over them? I'm venturing in to new territory with the CK and although I'm very familiar with 3D graphic creation I'm not exactly sure how to proceed with this particular issue in the CK. The only viable tutorial I can find, as I said, is on the TES Alliance site but it makes no mention of what to do if there I not a nograss version of the textures.

Thanks,

J

I think the only thing you could do is replace one of the grass textures with its non-grass equivalent (most of the grass textures have a non-grass version as well) if not its easy enough to make one. This would affect that entire cell but as the base texture would be the same it should still look ok.

Or you could raise the house and put some stairs up to the frond door.

I would paint the fallforest dirt in front of the door because it looks more realistic having dirt in front of a door than leaves or grass. It would be a small detail nobody would specifically notice but it would improve the scene by looking more natural and realistic.

When in landscape mode hit the I key to get a list of textures in the cell you are working on. Beats the heck out of clicking about randomly.
