CaptainPatch Posted July 27, 2015 Share Posted July 27, 2015 Are you using a mod that gives more background on Avros and/or expands the areas underneath the College? I don't remember Avros having a journal in vanilla Skyrim. I seem to recall a mod that placed a key in the ArchMage's garden. Aintiarna Posted August 13, 2015 Share Posted August 13, 2015 It doesn't unlock with the arch-mage's key, it unlocks when the Fall of Winterhold quest starts. The quest starts automatically when you enter the midden after being made Arch-mage of the college I think. If that's not working, try exploring the barracks in the smithing area of the midden and reading the journal, maybe that scene is required to unlock the quest, I'm not sure.
