Misc movable objects to Static

Hi there! I just had a simple question that I'm hoping some of you folks can get it straight.

I just began work on a row house player home mod, and i wanted to make it look all cluttered with items. Only problem, most of those items are miscellaneous, movable items which can make for a big mess. I've seen many player home mods that use static versions of these objects to decorate the place. I'm not completely sure how they did it, but if i had to guess, it looks as if they converted every single model to static, which sounds beyond tedious to me. If that is what must be done, then so be it, but I was just wondering if there may be an easier way to do it.

One thing i did try; I had grouped all of these pieces and put them into a loading screen static collection. Unfortunately, even though they were a static collection, the whole piece simply fell to the floor when i tested the physics. Could there possibly be a way to do this?

Once again, if anyone has any insight into any of this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Possibly:

Add the script onhavocdisable (or something like that) to the objects (but I'm not 100% sure this does what I think it does).

Or

Like you say, create new statics with the nifs you want. Not as dofficult as it sounds (though, yes, it's not quite what I would refer to as "fun" process), just duplicate a static object and choose the new model...over and over again.

(Seriously, you do get into a rhythm)

Maybe someone has another idea, though.

Edit: It's disablehavoconload.

I've spent the last few months working on a clutter mod with some other folks, we're finally getting it wrapped up for publishing so I've had lots of practice with this. Anyway, it's a bit tedious if you're making dozens of items, but it's really simple. I don't even bother with editing an existing item and pointing to a new nif anymore. If the object I want to make is a plain static, just right click on the Static section, select new. Select the nif you want. I leave all the options default except for formID, name and preview transform. I edit the preview transform because the objects I'm making are being added to the workshop menu as constructibles. You don't need to do that for your case. If what I want to make is a container that won't have a loot list, I just right click New in the container section of the menu. Otherwise pick one with a loot list you like, make sure it doesn't have any quest items in the list. With furniture I DO edit an existing piece of furniture that is as close to what I want as possible and then change the formID which automatically creates a new object.

Oh, if you want essentially a static collection of combined objects that is itself static, I mash them together using Outfit Studio of all things. It's so unbelieveably easy. Literally just drag/drop the nif files you want into OS, click on one, click the Transform button to get the xyz movement arrows and adjust to your hearts content. When done, export as a nif. Open the nif in Nifskope and run the sanitize spells you want and save, or if you have it setup to auto sanitize, just save it using Nifskope and it will auto sanitize on save. In CK add as a new static item and just point to your created nif.
