PC isn't what it used to be

Recommended Posts

When I first got my PC it used to run Skyrim at 60 fps constantly, no matter what ENB I used. Then, later on, it started to go down to around 30 FPS out of nowhere. For nearly a year now I've been searching for solutions to this problem and have come up with absolutely nothing. I tried fresh install of everything. Nothing has worked. I have a GTX 970.

This has plagued me for nearly a YEAR and has prevented me from playing Skyrim. If you help me fix this you'll get a cookie.

What ENB's were you using before, and what versions of ENB's binaries were those ENB's using? In addition to that, what has changed about how you play the game? Are you using more graphics mods now? Are you playing at a higher resolution? Is Skyrim the only game you play that has exhibited this drop in performance? What are your full system specs, and has anything about your rig changed over time? Your OS and Drivers may also be important as all of these things have evolved since 2011 when this game first released.

It was back in 2016 I had Tetrachromatic. I think ENB 307. What changed about the game is it went from flawless 60fps to lagging around 40 fps. I'm not using ANYTHING on skyrim right now as I have a clean install. I play at 1980 x 1080 as usual. Skyrim IS the only game to do this. Nothing about my rig has changed over time and all my drivers are up to date.

It's my understanding that the ENB binaries from .308 onward have become more demanding. I will link a thread from Reddit where they may have some solutions for you. The original post has an edit that contains a fix that helped them.

strangely for me the thing that solved s*** was killing vivid weathers... I noticed the config book was no longer in my inventory, and I couldnt find it anywhere I looked in all of my bookcases / chests etc ... it was simply gone from the game... something was wrong hehe

removing that from my save file got me back to 60fps instead of 30..... cant think on a reason why anything I have added to save since then would have affected it... just a bug I guess ? The first thing I removed to test was enb and reshade before anyone asks hehe
