Character's face is blue/purple until I change the complexion?

Hi, hopefully someone will be able to help me solve this issue I've been having. Every time I load the game, my character has a blue/purple face as though it were missing face textures. Then I use the "showracemenu" command in the console to open up the character creator. When I change the complexion from 0 to 1, and then back to 0 my character's face is back to normal with the textures all there. If I save and then reload the problem returns, but moving from one cell to another doesn't cause any issues. This issue happens when using Racemenu. If I use ECE my character's face isn't blue, but instead a slightly darker colour than her body. Howecer, since ece uses its own head mesh, it messes with my character's appearence, so that's not a option.

^^^^ this is how it looks when I load the game, then I change the complexion to 1 then back to 0, and it looks like this:

Obviouisly I can just open up the character creator to fix this issue, but that's a pain to have to do every time I load the game. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me! ^^

It usually means you're missing a head texture. Check in Data\Textures\actors\character\[rest-of-path] and look for femalehead.dds and similar files (the exact path will depend on what body mod you're using). If they aren't there, they don't load and cause this issue. You can reinstall whichever mod you're using for body types (or install an extra one) as a possible fix, otherwise you may have load priority issues in your textures (if using Vortex).

I had a similar issue that could also only be fixed by changing the complexion. It was a lighting/neckseam problem for me but it might be worth a shot for your purple head issue. You could try and find an alternative head mesh to the one you've installed, some head meshes for some reason can't properly apply the complexion texture on load. It may be due to some mod incompatibility oversight somewhere, but in my case, I had to change the "Pretty Face" mod to something else to fix mine. Not sure if it would work for yours, but it may be a direction you can look into.
