gamebryo plugin indexlock failed

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just converted to Vortex and I followed all the instructions with the installation, but I cannot get to the plugins tab because my Gamebryo Plugin Indexlock cannot be enabled and always fails. I am not that tech savvy, and so I have a lot of problems with this application. Also since switching to vortex, only a select few mods have been working, I might be doing something wrong, but idk what.

Thank you

Go to Vortex Dashboard > Extensions and look for Gamebryo Plugin Indexlock and Gamebryo Plugin Management. If the two extensions are disabled, then enable them. If they are enabled, then re-enable them. (Don't worry about the other extensions shown in the picture below.)

If this does not resolve the problem, then let us know, It would help if you could further describe your issues using the guidelines found here: How to Request Vortex Support.

Hi. I also have this problem. I have followed the instructions given, I also uninstalled all mods, vortex and game then reinstalled game and vortex, still same problem. I downloaded f4se and looks menu with no problem but it wouldn't take aaf. I'm pretty new to this so please bear with me. Thanks. Also, it's the most recent version of vortex. 18.6?

Try rolling back to an earlier Vortex version (0.17.xx or later). That has worked for some people. Disregard any "older version" warning.

im having the same problem its so annoying everytime i enabe gamebryo plugin mangment and restart vortex it keeps saying failed and it does this to all 4 of them...

This is likely not the same issue as for the OP who posted this topic in June of last year.

Can you please send in a report via Vortex and include your log files?

So I decided to try uninstalling/reinstalling Vortex and that failed... hard. Now I can't even reinstall Vortex.

Uninstalled Vortex, shutdown, boot up, ran Vortex Installer, Vortex attempts to load and never does. Some times I get a long ass error message. Which, for some inexplicable reason, won't let me copy the text off it. Here's my attempt to transcribe it.

"Startup failed

My options are "Ignore" and "Quit". If I ignore then Vortex's splash screen stays up but the program never loads. If I quit then the splash screen goes away.

Any Ideas?
