Extend the base boundary limits

How to increase the radius of your base computer :

First of all I just like to point out that 90% of this is from other modders / guides, all I iv’e done is test it to make sure that it is in fact working on the newest version of NMS as of date any mods that have tried this do not work.

So just a shout out to

Gohirro original mod for Base Boundary Plus (not working with newest version)

Northener69 Modder

Spiritz666 Modder

Ok first of all this isn’t a mod of sorts its just a workaround to be able to build outside of No Mans Sky base radius, since Hello games updated the game we are unable to increase the radius of the build area from the base computer, so you had to build close to a hotspot to say run electromagnetic wires to power your base, but if this was outside of the base radius this wouldn’t work.

Untill now...

Please note that I take no responsibility to your game as this guide requires you to copy / paste / delete game files: and all im doing is posting links to better guides then what I could put here, plus watching a video you can pause when you like but I can confirm that it is working.

Ok you need to enable the console in steam and get a few links from the NMS steam DB to be able to download older versions of NMS use this guide here and just follow it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22v_zknr5Cw&list=PLuOXpmLAA2z6SG-e2XQXoKQdrnxcciy6a&index=5&t=347s

NMS App id https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiT2pS97PTlAhVZURUIHYb9D8QQFjAAegQICRAC&url=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamdb.info%2Fapp%2F275850%2F&usg=AOvVaw3OdVtGS_6bxpYUc_SUv5D_

When you get to the manifests part choose the October 7, 2019 – 15:09:07 UTC file (should read 16627576080350) and use that version, and just follow the rest of the video.

You will also need the original mod of Base Boundary Plus here https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1226

Choose which ever file you like I'm using the 20x but all should work ok and copy that into your mods folder.

Once you have done all of that you should now be able to build outside of the normal base radius.

Now as well know NMS does get a lot of updates so you may well have to do this if you want to build a new base after each update, but I have copied back my original files most up to date ( hope you made back ups too) delete the old versions ( Binaries & GameData folders) and pasted back the new versions so I'm now running the latest version and can still build beyond (sorry no pun intended) the games original boundary block.

Hope this helps anyone but if you need any help then please let me know and I will try and help you out.

Sadly im not using the steam version but the GoG version . What interests me is what was changed in the updates. I had noticed theres a few files that seem to have a sort of "2nd" copy - only a few tho and im wondering if they are linked . To say that when nms runs it compares the 2 and if the match then it uses the "original" but if they dont match then it uses the copy regardless , this may explain why i can edit the first file and its ignored . This is just theory for now but is something i will investigate and test , if its right then it may be a case of making the identical changes to both instead of the 1 . Any progress i`ll let you know .

Hi spiritz666 thank you for keep having a go at this, at this moment in time the way Ive got it working IS still working OK, but for some people they are very unsure of this method because of corrupting their save file which is fair enough, but like I told them even updating your game it could do that (Hello games stats this with every update+ to make a backup) but I do understand that playing around the game files for some is a step too far.

Nps - as i work on other mods ( more so when i get over this bout of illness which is hitting me bad - nothing major but seems like a bad case of flu ) i`ll gain more exp with what affects what and where i may be able to get a proper solution that easier with all future updates . And if/when i do i`ll make sure you will be among the first to hear of it .
