Made a mess using NVEdit- Need some advice!

Hello! I have recently started another modded playthrough of new vegas, however I seem to have made a bit of a mess this morning.

I'm using dragbody's "we are legion" overhaul, but I want to use a specific armour from the "Arizona Slave Army" overhaul. I used NVEdit to copy the armours by using "copy as new record into" and copied them into We are Legion. However this turned Arizona Slave Army into a master for we are legion, when all I wanted was to use that specific armour, not the whole mod.

Basically I didn't really know what I was doing and goofed everything. Firstly how can I remove ASA as a master for WAL so it can be uninstalled? And secondly, how do I correctly add a specific armour from ASA to WEL without messing it up like I just did?

I'd really appreciate any advice, thanks! :)

Open We are Leagion in NVEdit and highlight it. In the right panel look for the list of master files. Remove Arizona Slave Army.

To add a specific piece of armor to the game, choose an existing armor that you aren't going to use. Copy the armor you are going to use from ASA to the mesh and texture file and then rename the mesh to that of the armor you aren't using.

Just to expand upon that "removal" advice slightly: you won't be able to remove a "master file" as long as you have ANY records from it in the "dependent" plugin.

Please see the 'Custom items' and 'Armor and Clothes' sections of the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article for tutorials and other 'tips' from experienced mod creators.

Thanks for the replies guys! I figured out the issue- The armour I added was still trying to use object effects from Arizona Slave Army, so I copied the effects over too and everything is working now! Thanks again :)
