ConnorB760 Posted January 21, 2021 Share Posted January 21, 2021 Hello, could really use some help please! New and annoying bug that just started. The ambient music slider and the ambient music itself keeps setting back down to zero. I can even hear it fade out. By default the Music in the audio settings is at 50% on the main menu, but when I load up the game it keeps going back to zero, no matter how many times I slide it back up. I'll hear the music in-game when I turn it back up, but like I said earlier it then fades out and the menu slider is back at zero. I've checked my Fallout_Default.ini file and the music is set at 0.500, changed it and saved it to test it but still nothing. Anyone ever have this issue before? Any way to fix this? dubiousintent Posted January 24, 2021 Share Posted January 24, 2021 (edited) Many of the settings in "Default INI" are overridden by the same settings in "Prefs INI". Also, the game uses the INI files it finds in the "Users" folder. The "Defaults INI" is only used to create those initially. Changes to the "Users" folder INI files can be made by mods. The "JIP LN NVSE" extension adds a "FalloutCustom.INI" which can override the other INI files as well, as it loads after they do. It is less likely to be altered by other mods. While I don't want to assume The Frontier is the problem, it seems to be the source of all my recent woes. Are you currently on the "Liberator" quest in The Frontier (if you have the mod)? It seems that this problem started with it. EDIT 2: Yup, found a variable that turns off the music in the end of the previous quest in the GECK, but no variable to turn it back on. Just changing it didn't do anything, since the quest was already over, so I'll try to use the console to fix this. EDIT 3: Just as I thought, it was The Frontier. Input "set TFMusicState to 0" (without quotes) in the console and the music will go back to normal. Going to report this in the mod page.
