  1. Hey all. Recently I rolled through RealVision ENB and carefully installed every mod it suggested I install. I chose an option when it said Mod A or Mod B and I followed everything to the letter. AA and all that is disabled and I used my Nvidia Control Panel to disable what the pictures told me to disable. I used loot to sort my mods and TES5Edit to clean my masters. I installed SKSE and Enb and everything a Skyrim player should have right off the bat. Then I got the Skyrim Legendary Patch and Sky UI and booted up my game to see if it all worked. Once I got to the main menu, everything started turning bluish purple. It rose up from the base of my screen like a plague and consumed everything but the buttons for the main menu. I clicked new game and started up my adventure only to find that my game looked like this. Any ideas on what's going on? I have every mod from the RealVision EnB page except for General Recommended Mods and Body/Face and all that. Let me know if you guys need anymore information.
  2. I just don't understand how anyone can support locking creativity and the sharing of ideas behind a paywall. It's disgusting to see people easily give up something we've had freely and openly since the beginning of video games. What happens when your favorite free mods start becoming dependent on pay to play mods? What happens when mods can benefit from borrowing and sharing assets from other mods that are now for pay? When money is involved, people become greedy, and the sharing and community stop.
  3. So if a mod is released that's free, that requires another mod that's for pay- We have to buy another mod we don't want to pay money for simply because it's locked behind a pay wall? I just don't understand how anybody could possibly support this move. I just don't. Eventually everybody will have to pay if you want to enjoy modifying your game. Bethesda games are worthless without mods. I didn't even play Skyrim until they released the mod kit. Mods will no longer share creative ideas and assets because people who can earn money from something will want to protect that as closely as possible. There's nothing good that can come from this, please stop being naive.
  4. My biggest issue with this is really the sharing of ideas and content. When money is involved, people want to protect their assets. I want to protect my money and whatever earns me money. If a mod that provides a lot of great features is on the market for real cash and another set of mods that are for free could really benefit from the coding or assets of that mod, what happens then? Tough luck? Nobody benefits from commercialization except the big companies. It's like how we can't use Morrowind or Oblivion assets in Skyrim. Imagine if we could. Imagine if that was legal. Now the same restrictions will apply to mods. Did anybody think of this?
  5. Hey Dark One, I want to apologize for never paying for the Nexus before. I've been using the Nexus since it was TESSource and have been using adblocker programs since they've been available. I'm probably part of the problem as to why mods are becoming pay to play due to my selfishness and failure to give back to the community. I look forward to donating in the future to my favorite mods and I've finally picked up a premium account. I know it won't get you back all the money I've probably stole from the site and it might be too little too late but... Like with climate change, I'm staying positive!
  6. Part of society's trap is trying to make us feel guilty for feeling entitled or closely defending our money. My money is my life, and if I had to pay even a dollar for each mod in my mod collection I'd have been out an entire pay check. Hint, I really don't get paid that much. Is every game going the realm of the cash shop? What else are we going to have to start paying for? I'm too tired and exhausted with the gaming industry to get mad. I understand everybody trying everything they can to get compensated for their time but I guess modding has always been a refuge from the capitalism and greed of the rest of the industry. Things really are changing for the worst where mods like Wet and Cold (mods I've been playing for free for years) now cost money to enjoy. You can argue until you're blue in the face that it's their right, and if I don't want to pay then don't pay, but that would mean missing out on something that's awesome- something I've already been enjoying for FREE. Now, suddenly, I need to pay money or get out. It's a lose lose situation either way you look at it.
  7. To clear any outright assumptions that I might have poor FPS, I get roughly 40 to 60 FPS outside and inside towns. The issue comes when I go inside a town (lately I've only been entering Whiterun) and sometimes, I'll get these odd jittery, or sudden spikes in stutters or whatnot- Almost like stuff is being loaded in. At first I thought maybe my old harddrive was an issue (it used to make a loud grumbly noise everytime these problems occured), but recently I upgraded to something bigger so I could fit all my games and mods and yet the problem still persists. My FPS is great, I get smooth gameplay, smooth combat, smooth everything. I've removed the Bethesda HD textures just in case that was an issue and trimmed my mods down as much as I wanted to or could without running risk of messing up my game because I removed big time mods. My hardware is this: Q6600 Quadcore 2.4 ghz GTX 260 1024 MB 2 TB Western Digital Caviar Black harddrive 4 GB of ram Nothing is overclocked, and I can't overclock my CPU because of either the CPU or the motherboard won't let me. I don't have any other problems other than these random lock ups that force me to restart my game, but everything up to that lock up is 100% fine and smooth. It's annoying and discouraging. Here's a screenshot of my mods if anyone is able to tell me what might be causing the issue or if there are any incompatibilities. The three files cut off at the top are Skyrim, Dawnguard, and Update (whatever that is). I did the best I could reading every readme and going through the first few pages of comments on mods, and I installed all compatibility patches that I could. If you need anymore information lemme know, and thanks to anyone who can provide some assistance and direction!
  8. I've definitely got loads of health potions as well as cooked food as back ups- In a lot of high end fights I'll run out of potions, cooked food, uncooked meats, and end up just munching through 300 carrots to bring my health back up if I really need it. What kind of enchantments for my armor should I be getting?
  9. So I play on Master difficulty- I have a rule. If I can't play a game on the highest difficulty setting I shouldn't be playing it. So here I am on the master difficulty, and at the lower levels it was great. Combat was a rush- It took a few hits to kill someone, but at the same time, it took a few hits for me to die (Except those god damn wounded spiders- I've never had a more frustrating time) Combat was fast paced, it was deadly, it was all about getting hits in, dodging, and blocking attacks at the right moments or I'd be dead. But now at level 39 I'm getting one-shotted with arrows, and iron long swords are killing me in three whole swings, and yet with my 70 damage ebony longsword it takes upwards of 20 or 30 hits to bring most high level opponents down to half health, and don't even get me started on when I'm in werewolf form- Still takes a lot of hits to kill someone, and I get one-hit killed by every weapon in the game. The only thing this difficulty is challenging is my patience, not my skill. Is anyone else experiencing problems like this? I've tried every mod I could find that "improves" the combat but all it does is make it easier for enemies to kill me, and makes it so it takes longer for them to be killed (not harder, longer- it's a grind, like WoW). It's not skill-based, it's grind based, and the more swings I throw at the enemy the more they go down. It should take timing and skill to take down an opponent, so what happened to it? And why are enemies getting harder when I'm supposedly getting stronger? Nothing seems to work. I've tried ACE, Duel - Combat Realism, Arrow Tweaks, etc. What have all of you done to remedy such a game breaking flaw in design? There's no way I'm lowering the difficulty setting to make it "easier". I still want to die in a few hits, but at the same time I want to be able to kill every enemy in the game with skill and finesse- minus the larger beasts which are rightfully high in health points. Since level 25 or so winning fights has consisted of me sneak attacking with a bow and arrow and drawing enemies into traps. My level 100 heavy armor and level 100 one-hand and level 70 block are nigh useless against anything considered a high level creature. It seems like the moment you get in close, you're dead. Not to mention shields don't block damage? Someone please help. Am I doing something wrong?
  10. I'm sure there's a Tamriel equivalent of sulfur somewhere in the Black Marsh and it only takes a few minutes to know how to pull a trigger. Loading a musket and whatnot would require a few extra hours of training and just a bunch of practice to perfect it. I don't know all the ingredients that go into gunpowder, I just know sulfur was one of them.
  11. Okay so I've got a number of mods that I run, most of which are OMODs. I've got HGEC, obviously, and an HGEC vanilla replacer (rather modest, thank you very much). I've got Francesco's, MMM, QTP3, Bomret's Textures, Better Cities, Natural Faces, Red Sonia, Unofficial Patches, AWLS, and All Natural weather or whatever that was. I've got some non-OMOD mods but they're rather insignificant. Okay so my problem here is that absolutely ZERO replacement meshes and textures that are not OMOD's aren't working. I don't know why. This has worked in the past when I was running retail oblivion with shivering isles and all of the DLCs. But for some reason, a year or two later when I'm trying to pick up oblivion again, I just can't get anything that's not OMOD to work. My first conclusion was to blame OBMM, and then I was reading about Archive Invalidation, and seriously, I've never had to do that before except in Fallout 3, and I don't get what has changed recently. So I tried to use the Archive Invalidation built into OBMM. I crash. I tried the Universal setting. I crash. I tried the Replacement setting, I crash. Anything but the redirection setting causes crashes. So again, I blamed it on OBMM and went and got the Archive Invalidation Invalidated! tool, ran that, replaced the francesco.bsa files in the Oblivion.ini, booted it up-- crashed! I seriously don't know what's going on anymore, and I'm at my wit's end, I'm fixing to just scrap it all together and go play simpler games. But I'd like to beat Oblivion and Shivering isles before Skyrim comes out. It's like any non-OMOD replacement textures/mesh packs just aren't working at all. This is odd, because with Fallout 3 I used a combination of OMOD (or whatever it's called for Fallout 3) and regular mods and it worked fine. I just want to be able to install mods normally like I used to be able to do without any issues. I'm running Windows 7 with UAC disabled and the STEAM version of Oblivion. I'm using BOSS to sort my mods into their correct order because I'm too computer illiterate to do it myself. I've tried just about every solution I could think of at this point, and the only one I haven't tried is making my own OMOD for the replacement textures/meshes I want to use but that just seems way too complicated for what I'm trying to get out of this. Any help offered to a computer illiterate Oblivion player would be great! Hopefully OBMM isn't the source of my problems here. I'm half expecting that I'll have to use my retail copy instead of STEAM, but that would just undesirable. And yes, my game is installed in the Program Files area, but IDK how that would matter if UAC is turned off.

    Game music

My favorites have gotta be... The ENTIRE Mass Effect soundtrack. The Dungeon Siege theme song. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Original, and Rogue Spear music. Vegas 2 has a good theme song, but that's it. Ghost Recon sound track. The Splinter Cell Chaos Theory soundtrack. The Gears of War soundtrack... ... and last, but certainly not least: The Halo trilogy soundtrack.
