In response to post #16162200. #16162375, #16162510, #16215550 are all replies on the same post. totally agree with whodat1 , nexus needs and deserves the support of it's members . nexus is , beyond a doubt , the finest community I have ever belonged to , consisting mostly of talented , generous and well meaning individuals . those of us who use this service , especially those who are unable to contribute mods , should feel an obligation to make some effort to help those who so selflessly help us . -

ok , I may be totally wrong . I am not a modder only a mod user but I was having similar problems . I have a more than adequate rig but that might be your problem as it was mine . I'm guessing you have a multi core processor . if that is the case I highly recommend searching for gophers fix on youtube . it involves editing fallout.ini so that it limits fo3 to only 2 cores ..... or something .... did I mention I'm not a modder ?! anyhoo , follow gophers instructions and if you do have the same problem I did , it will totally solve it . also , if your not particularly confident with modding , gopher is absolutely someone to check out . just some advice . I really hope this helps and sorry I can't be more helpful . best of luck dude ! -
just wanted to say thanks to the hard working , talented and dedicated folks that keep nexus going . there may be times when you feel pretty unappreciated but nothing could be further from the truth . I have been using mods for about a year and I am slowly working up the confidence to have a go at my first proper mod myself . the awesome service you provide for people adds a dimension to gaming that I could no longer do without . one of my first concerns when looking to buy a new game now is what modding possibilities it has ! I guess the point I'm trying to get to is that you are all very much appreciated and I for one am very grateful for the work you do . so thanx loadz guys you totally rock !

so I'm finally able to play fo3 due to the enormously helpful advice from the ever awesome gopher . now my game does not freeze after entering interior cells . now , however , every single mod I use that applies non vanilla textures is screwing up . when I was a total noob I had similar issues and after a little research , started using archive invalidation invalidated which solved the problem . even though I am still using A.I.I. and it is definitely installed properly and working , anything from my type 3 body replacer to gun mods to pictures on walls , anything that uses non vanilla textures won't work properly . being a bit stubborn , I really tried to figure this out on my own . the limited knowledge I do have about modding I have acquired by doing my own research and , though it has been slow going , I have managed to learn something . but I have got to the point where I have to admit that I have reached the limit of what I can do alone and so I turn to the modding community for help . so if there is anybody who can offer advice or even point me in the direction of advice I would be eternally grateful . also , if someone would be interested in hand-holding me through a manual install of a mod that would be awesome . a word of warning first though , anything technological really hates me . every attempt I have ever made at manual installs has failed miserably , often resulting in me having to do an entire reinstall of the game . just a heads up before you get into something that could leave you pulling your hair out ! thanx loadz in advance to anyone who takes the time to read and reply .
