  1. In response to post #92365288. Best comment, oh my that got me rolling
  2. Many hours invested into your survival save? Install any new mods? remove an mods? The previous survival mode i played was super wonky after I removed a few seemingly un-impacting mods. CTD, "Fake"-Corrupted saves. unable to build/select anything in workshop. I was forced to just create a fresh save with base mods i wanted. ps unrelated, intro background song that plays on fo4 assuming your radio is off is the exact same song that plays at the beginning of house of cards  just frikin noticed that. (edited so you i dont have to wait for a reply: If you have installed any new mods, try disabling them. If you made any edits to any ini file delete them, launch the game and then and then quit to build a new set. the only edits in your ini files should be made in custom. if you made any changes in your options, use the reset option and try the default settings. CTD is very common in display related issus; improper resolution, clashing GPU settings with game display settings, mods that tweak your game performance and so on. ANything that you many have done to your ingame display will if incompatible with your hardware or a mod will CTD. always backup your saves, and ini files, hell even backup the installation directory before apply mods, and if s#*! hits the fan, back track, un-apply mods and/or just replace the entire directory/saves/and ini-s. Hope you can get something out of that. Kinda rambly with way broken punctuation. )
  3. The doomsday scenario is a passion of mine so much to the level that everyone in my family including my old lady rolls their eyes when the topic gets triggered, and believe me when I tell you, EVERYTHING triggers the topic. First we have to understand the event... We are talking about a post-nuclear event here... We know that depending on your location and distance from the detonation you are either instantly screwed or you are going to be waiting a while to surface. So lets assume you are in an area that just has to deal with the fallout and not the actual blast radius. Your shelter time is approximately 72 hrs depending on weather conditions. This is 72 hrs before you can surface in PROTECTIVE gear. Hazmat suite or gladbags and duct tape and a respirator. once you are bale to surface thats when your fight for survival begins. finding clean food, water, medicine. we know for absolute certainty there wont be any death claws or rad scorpions. If nuclear radiation caused massive mutations Godzilla and the Hulk would be real. Assuming you can survive living off of salvaged nutrients for the next 20 years you can being cultivating your soil and harvesting GRASS. Grass is our planets universal source of nutrients and can be converted into alcohol, paper, cloth, and food. Now 20 years is again assuming a lot as science cannot say for certain exactly how long it takes. The time has always varied depending on the type of nuke, the amount of nukes, and proximity to the epicenter. So we stay with my ideal distance, 72hr surfacing clock and 20 years till rebuild. Would I survive and how? At the first sign of danger my bug out bags are always packed and ready to go. My immediate family proceeds to one of several mines around my home. My ideal mine has recently been purchased so acquiring said mine will depend on its status. If i can occupy the mine without having to move through security im set with clean water, soil and an infinite supply of mushrooms as well as working golf carts. If I am forced to take shelter in a public fallout shelter I will undoubtedly kill every person in that shelter to preserve the resources for MY family. Murder is serious but when you know what it takes to survive, what risks are on the table the last thing you want is to be in the mercy of a stranger. There is always details, you could write fricking book with the amount of information someone would need to survive this event but thats about it for this post. Will include the content of my bug out bags 4 bags, each with 1 20X20 tarp, 5 emergency water pouches, water tablets, dried food rations for 5 days, fuel & ignition sources( vary because im always adding more lighters/matches flint) sewing kit, field knife, 100 rounds .40cal ammunition, 200 rounds .22L, 100 rounds .380, 100 rounds 9mm thats min each bag, 2 days cloths, and toilet paper lol. Then my wife and I carry our arms. Each bag weighs about 50lbs... might be a struggle for our boys to carry their bag but they will or they are SOL.
  4. update -SOLVED- I disabled the only 2 mods that I felt could have any effect on this glitch "seasons" and "timetravel" neither helped. Oh and its not unique to the power armor. if i exit the armor as soon as i leave the other side of the virtibrd it happens. Tried fast traveling, same effect. what the hell? **** Turned off wetness in Advanced options. Why because apparently what was able to run fo4 in ultra yesterday cant as of last night. Radeon rx 480... no updates, no changes other than adding those two mods above and now im playing with less visual effects. -sarcastic YAY-
  5. So we all know that swirly grey void that we experience in the dev room or when scrapping a part of a building we shouldnt or a rock formation in vault 88 lol. Ive got a problem, just started a survival run and everything was fine up until I entered the power armor in the museum. The moment i stepped up to the vertibird thats all i saw... Even after jumping down to the ground. *** sry for the bad image quality, 250kb is a bad cap should have linked it*** load order: Fallout4.esm=1DLCRobot.esm=1DLCworkshop01.esm=1DLCCoast.esm=1DLCworkshop02.esm=1DLCworkshop03.esm=1DLCNukaWorld.esm=1ArmorKeywords.esm=1HUDFramework.esm=1SimSettlements.esm=1Scrappable_Commonwealth.esm=1NoVanillaRadiantDLCLocations.esp=1Idiot s!@£.esp=1MODGirlyAnimation.esp=1CBBE.esp=1ZellaHairDye.esp=1Scrap Everything - Core.esp=1[777] Sanctuary - Reworked Roads.esp=1WorkshopRearranged.esp=1Killable Children - Far Harbor.esp=1Killable Children - Nuka World.esp=1Killable Children.esp=1Clean Water - Tropical.esp=1infinite_settlement_budget.esp=1AzarPonytailHairstyles.esp=1BTK_Tutorial.esp=0ScavengerAllDLC.esp=1Portable_Workshop_Enhanced.esp=1Scrap Everything - Far Harbor.esp=1Scrap Everything - Nuka World.esp=1Marmo1233 - Immersive Settlers.esp=1ImmersiveLoversEmbrace.esp=1LooksMenu.esp=1Quick Save.esp=15xEnemyDamage.esp=15xPlayerDamage.esp=1Armorsmith Extended.esp=1Survivalist Go-Bags_AE_AWKCR.esp=1More Where That Came From Diamond City.esp=1timetravel.esp=1
  6. I do like the idea of a reboot but I have to give credit to bethesda. Remember Bethesda is not behind the MMO push. That is pure Zenimax. I know that can be worse than splitting hairs but they are legally 2 separate entities. Take ESO for example, The idea of an MMO Skyrim was Bethesda's idea and they wanted the rich enjoyable content we obsessed over on an MMO. They partnered with zenimax and zen cut every darn aspect of the game we loved and turned it into every other mmo out there. Zenimax is in control of their mmo world including their micro-transactions. When I can run around putting buckets on other players heads I'll reactivate my account. :P
  7. Fatalmasterpiece good point, that holotape was in the grand hotel or whatever it was named in far harbor. I didnt enjoy that dlc thats probably why it slipped by me. But those launch codes were for one particular nuke located in the nucleus. So for Vault-Tec to be the mastermind of this conspiracy they would have had multiple nukes as a backup. I say this because an inside terror attack designed to trigger a pre-emptive retaliation/strike it would have to be questionable. If its noticed that multiple nukes just went off on American soil without a launch ever being detected, they would have no doubt and look towards terrorism instead of military aggression. The Nucleus was also a Marine/Navel sub and could vary well have just been idle waiting for the command to launch at china. I dig the robobrain idea. Wish there was a way to actually kill jezebel! (~ disable just broke the game for me lol, but it was nice for a while)
  8. Ethreon I appreciate your dedication to the Lore. I dont every want to stray to far from the lore myself and I suspect that if I had played them all in depth I'd be right there with you. Starting with fo4 though allowed me to experience the institute immersively. Aliens are always an option, we know they exist, we kill them and we know our energy weapons are reverse engineered from alien tech. But to me an Alien involvement would be a cop out. Much like that final season of LOST when we all discover they were in freaking purgatory the entire time. Of hw the walking dead will surely end in the same way lol. But yeah, aliens work.
  9. Montky, that was an incredible read, so was the PM haha. So much information, Im not sure it all soaked in. Unfortunately for me FO4 is basically my debut into the apocalypse. Ive tried starting on FO but at the time the gameplay was to weird for me and I quickly sidetracked. Shortly after my first play through I did go out an acquire 12&3, about time to acquire the spin offs and go for a full playthrough. Back to the topic; I was unaware or missed the information about the prewar bunker beneath CIT, that actually does get them closer to the Tinker Tom theory. Only two types of people build bunkers the fearful or the diabolical and if CIT was backed/secured/contracted through the government that moves them into the diabolical category (modern conspiracy aside, this is fo and the government was just wrong). The topology is defiantly interesting, one of the main reasons from switching from the default game play to free RP. If I had to guess ied go down the nuclear aftermath route in assuming global warming had a part in the rising of sea levels. I am certainly not a geologist however based on RL attempts at connecting two separate bodies of water don't tend to flood surrounding area's unless of course someone decided to take a short ut instead of building a canal just blasted a natural formation, flooding a valley bellow. This is typically seen in dam formation though. Here is a thought. Nuclear winter lasts about 20-50 years depending on who who you talk to and in what modern era you spoke to them in. So why 200+ years later is everything still dead? Shouldn't the wasteland be a dense jungle? I cant be the only one thats seen the TV show 100 years after man on the history channel haha. Of course thanks to nifty devices such as the fat man we could be perpetuating the winter... I dunno though... FO4 is just so darn entertaining and the modder community just makes it better.
  10. Knowing who busted out the first nuke is completely relevant based off of how you chose to play FO. Ive never seen the Institute as an absolute bad guy faction, each faction has their extreme side whether it be violent or cowardly. To know who was the cause of the Great War though, now that would put things into perspective a bit. At least for me on a few play-throughs (not a big fan of a good guy rp anyway). I aslo cant imagine a direct link being established in FO4, Boston wouldn't be a practical ground zero imo. Capital city on the other hand, perhaps...
  11. Thats a shame, so lets hear a few theories :)
  12. So I've played every faction so far, currently running an RP Vault 88 start joined up with the Railroad and I've heard some troubling information from Tinker Tom. Tom suggests that the Institute detonated the first bomb that lead to the Great War. However we know that the Institute didnt exist pre-war as it was created from the ruins of CIT. So is this just a Tom being a conspiracy wack-job or is there something I am missing? I understand the theory that Vault-Tec may have detonated the first bomb and Vault-Tec is a government contracted organization, so could Vault-Tec also be the parent of the Institute? Looking for actual lore here, ive checked all the resources and I am aware its technically unknown who detonated the first bomb however America blames China. What say you?
