  1. I didn't find much about this on google, so lets see what this produces. I can't turn off my lights in Sanctuary. I'm using a mod that has power boxes (switch box generators), that produce wireless electricity. I've used them before and have never had an issue with them. This time though, the lights stay on when I turn off the switch box. I was like, "Huh?!!" Both houses are the same. Both switch boxes won't turn off the lights. I figured maybe scaling down their size with PLACE might have messed them up, but no. I tried storing them and the lights, to no avail. I even scrapped all the lights and boxes, no favorable results. Redoing the entire thing produced the same effect. The lights wouldn't turn off. That means the glitch, is in the save file. I did go back to an earlier save and put up a light and box and it turned off when I flipped the switch. That's fine. I need to know what caused this, so that I may avoid it happening again. I'm not sure what kind of long term damage this may have on my save files. That's the real issue here. I've read that there are more than a few light glitches with the vanilla game, so I'm wondering if this may be what I'm experiencing. I don't have any mods that alter the world spaces, where said issue is happening. Nor do I have any mod in the area that alter the cells. Precombine/previs are all in place. I did however clean my master files this time, so I can't help but wonder if this may be the cause. People say to clean the masters, because it could cause an added mod to crash the game if you don't. My thoughts on this are... maybe removing itm and udr records can also cause the same thing to happen with a mod. Removing those records can cause a crash as well. Anyway, I'm rambling now. Does anyone have an idea on this issue. Thanks. If anything, should I start over, or do you think it's ok? I mean, I don't really have to turn off the lights. I just do it in game, cuz my mum always yelled at me to turn off the lights as a child. Heh
  2. That's hilarious. Thanks for the info. Yet another, "now you know" moment.
  3. First of all, this did not answer my posted question... how to access the expert tab in the new xEdit. There are certain features in that tab that are critical to modding my game properly. As well as manipulating my merged patch. Second, I require no modding lessons. I am quite adept already. Third, let me know if you get the answer to my initial question. Thanks. P.S. You can't clean the Fallout 3 master file.
  4. Good grief, can anyone tell me how to access the "expert tab" on the new xEdit. A couple of the features that are now located there, I need access to, in order to clean the navmesh in the dlc. I can't find the mysterious expert tab. Google just says it's only available to advance users that know how to access it, or something silly like that. The comment section on the FO3Edit page has been close down, for whatever reason. I really don't understand some of the changes with the program, but this particular change is just idiotic imo. Again, I'm trying to find the elusive "expert tab" just so I can control what happens to my formids. I'm about ready to go digging through my archives for an old copy of xedit. It works just fine... and I can find everything too.
  5. I've modded my fo3 game a lot, but never had this issue before. When I enter the chamber to start the operation anchorage simulation, I die once it starts. My body just falls to the ground and it reloads my last save, before entering the simulation chamber. I disabled every single mod and it still happens. Usually this type of issue happens due to a messed up script, but like I said... with all mods disable it still happens. Anyone have any ideas? I couldn't find anything when I googled the glitch, but I remember reading about others having had this specific issue with mods. I'm going to try reloading an earlier save file, but I don't think this is due to a corrupt save game file. I just bought the GOG version too, so I hope it's not that. One last thing... it sounds like I'm falling to my death. I get the sound of bones crunching when I see my body fall down to the ground. It's weird. Edit: After literally trying everything, I decided to let GOG check and verify my game files. It re-downloaded files for the game after doing it's scan. I'm guessing it's pretty much like validating your game files on Steam. Anyway, if you clean an esm file, it will download it again, because it will view it as being corrupted. Long story short... the issue has now cleared up. Either, the initial download of the game files was corrupt, or the latest edition of xEdit's quick clean option, screwed up the esm file for Anchorage. It may have also been a corrupt BSA file for the Anchorage dlc. I've had that happen before with the main BSA. I'll have to experiment to find the exact issue. I may just skip cleaning my dlc from here on out. Not sure if it's really worth doing so...
