  1. Long ago editions of the game Pathfinder is based on had a lot of buff spells last 10 minutes or an hour per caster level. Just altering the duration of these spells could alleviate a lot of this hassle. If you only need to cast once per map, unless you do a lot of screwing around, it should last you until the next transition, likely longer for smaller interconnected maps, like the first time you enter the First World.
  2. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or not doing right, but I still have this stupid problem and I have no clue how to fix it. I am not a modder. I simply don't understand coding enough to grasp what these are actually doing. I get it's a conflict with how mods are loading in textures. That's all. Last time I worked with computer code, BASIC was the big thing. What I need is someone to explain, in simple terms, how I am supposed to be organizing my mods to prevent this from happening. Am I supposed to have CBBE on the top of my list? bottom? above the custom followers? Where does Shiva's Hair Replacer go? do I need that as well as the male and female versions? How do those fit with XPMSE or a beautification mod? While I'm on the topic of organizing the mods, can someone also explain to me where and how I find the Priority settings in Vortex? I watched the "tutorial" for this, and it says to double click the mod, but unlike the person in the tutorial, I have no setting in the place they show to look..
  3. Salvage Beacons looks awesome, thanks jkruse. Also, I'm a dope. I have the Skyrim Script Extender sitting right on my desktop and never put that (SSE, F4SE) thing together. Still curious about how often the F4SE needs updating though. As it stands, I haven't needed to update my mods yet, and I'm hoping I don't have to given how much trouble I had to get them working. If I did decide to get it, where would I find it? It doesn't seem to be here on the Nexus.
  4. Does anyone have, or know of, a tutorial on how to manage the absolute garbage that is the building system in this game? I tried to build a cool two floor place on top of another building. Nope, can't do that. Walls and floors don't match up. On top of which, the entire place is floating in the air because there are no support structure pieces I can find. So I scrapped that and just tried to build a simple building next to another one. Nope, can't do that because you keep clipping into the other walls. Bastards can make things perfectly level, but apparently forgot how to use a measuring stick to line up things. OK. So I've been getting mauled by hordes of uber-ass tankbots everywhere I go, I need to build heavy defenses around my settlements so I have a semi-safe place to hide from them. Nope, can't do that because the terrain is curved, but the walls and all other structures must be straight lines. Oh, and forget going up hills either, because it doesn't know how to do that either. This entire thing is putting me off this half-formed piece of crap game something fierce. Well, that and the swarms of robots that attack me everywhere, including when I fast travel and don't even know what's happening yet. Reloaded 15 times trying to go to a settlement, the one time I didn't die -in- the settlement, I got chased halfway back to Sanctuary by -all- the robots before they killed me anyhow. But at least if i could build decent defenses, I wouldn't feel completely useless.
  5. I see a lot of these in here, (roughly 3 pages) but all of them seem to do one of two things. They either put a vehicle in the game that you have to find or build, or they only allow travel to and from settlements. What I am wondering about is a mod that allows you to fast travel if you are loaded down. Essentially, after a long day of scavenging and gathering up the massive amounts of junk that settlements all seem to need, I just want to go home and put it all away. I don't want to have to slog for literally 3 hours across the terrain, hoping I don't get jumped by a pair of radscorpions and have tom reload from an hour back. There is one mod that seems to allow this, but it also requires the F4SE, which I am not sure what that is or does. I'm assuming the letters stand for Fallout 4 Special Edition (like SSE for Skyrim), but to my knowledge, there is no such thing and I am -extremely- hesitant to install such a thing, especially since it seems the file needs updating every three and a half days depending on what Bethesda has screwed with. So in short, is there anything that can be made to do this? I don't need it to escape bad fights, or if I'm falling off a cliff, or whatever. Just a time saver so I can occasionally go to bed at a reasonable hour.
  6. OK, got CBBE to work finally. Moving on, mod by mod.
  7. Found the prefs.ini file. It didn't even have a section for [Launcher], so I put it in at the bottom, like the video said it should be. Between posts, a Fallout4Custom.ini showed up in the other folder from I have no idea where. Loaded a saved game, and I can't tell what changes were made to the prefs.ini, but the custom.ini file had no changes made to it. Altered the graphics setting in the Launcher and neither file seemed to have any changes. Was I supposed to run the game then quit out?
  8. Somehow, in trying to remove that video link, I managed to remove whatever this forum is using to end quotes, and I can't find out how to restore them. I also can't figure out how to delete a post I've made so I can repost. So now these forums are starting to piss me off too. No one said anything about altering the prefs.ini file, which I don't even have because the game has graciously decided to not provide me with one. Do I move the one in the saved games folder? Copy it? Honestly, I have never had this much trouble getting mods to work for any game.
  9. Just for my own information, I ran the Bodyslide program and looked at the CBBE body presets. None of them had completed textures. It was like looking at half finished mannequins. So I am now again uninstalling every mod and the NMM and reinstalling each item, one at a time, and checking in game and the Bodyslide after each individual mod to see what is causing my problems. I expect to be done sometime next month.. *grrr* Really not appreciative of how tough Bethesda is making this all.
  10. I've run the game multiple times now, it doesn't create a Custom file. Should I delete the one I've created and put the default back?
  11. Further updates: I have moved my entire Steam install from Program Files x86 to just Program Files. I have avoided using the program files folders for any NMM direct install as well, since it says that can cause conflicts. Should I just move Steam completely out of that area into it's own C:/Steam folder? I'm getting a little desperate for help here people.
  12. OK, this says I have no Fallout 4 INI file. I do have a Fallout4_default.ini file. Why is this not the same thing, or for some reason is NMM just not acknowledging it? Also, if I am manually entering the [ARCHIVE] lines, do I have to put those in the Fallout4_Custom.ini file and the Medium.ini, High.ini, and Low.ini files? Or will just the custom file do? Do I need to leave the Fallout4_default.ini file in place? Or do I replace it with the custom one?
  13. Oh yeah, and every time I turn on Nexus Mod Manager, it tells me I don't have an .ini file and i should run FO4 before doing anything. I played vanilla FO4 for about 2 hours before installing any mods the first time, just to be sure. It still says that every time.
  14. I am having massive troubles getting a bunch of mods to work in FO4. First off, I put in Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer -CBBE-, but it doesn't work at all. I've checked the mod file, it's there. Checked the FO4 data files, they seem to be there, though only 4 of them have actual images, the rest are just DDS files with no thumbnail images. A number of things I put in are appearing in my Mods data folder in NMM as compressed zip files still, and I have no idea what to do with those, or even if I should. They are: Black and Red Vaultsuit_FULL_Male and Female No Spin Ups - Gatling Laser and Minigun with Dmg Patch Star Trek Original Series Phaser Ponytail Hairstyles by Azar v2.5a Star Wars - BlasTech E-11 Everyone's War - Female combat veteran backstory FAPP - Fit And Perky Preset for CBBE Bodyslide Glorious Female Nude Mod (CBBE Compatible) None of these work in game at all... However!! There is a compressed file in here called "FIXED FILE-13312-1-2" When I open that, it has the info on a mod called Atomic Annie - Unique Gun, which works fine in game. So I am at a loss there too. The ponytails by Azar have bald placeholders in character creation, but no hair. Finally, a few mods are appearing in my Mods tab, but aren't transferring over to the Plug-Ins tab where i can put them in a load order. I can list the ones not appearing here if needed, but I feel like I'm going to start overwhelming with information. What am I doing wrong? I even tried putting in the unofficial patch from the Creator's Club thing, just in case that was unofficially needed like the Skyrim SE one is. I also have uninstalled all of this, including the NMM and reinstalled it all, one item at a time. Mind you, I understand I have a lot of mods. I check to see what is required and I don't grab much that looks like ith will affect the same things, unless I understand right away how the load order should work. I did the same thing for Skyrim SE and had no issues getting everything to work. Granted, now I have to go back in and reinstall all -those- mods too. But i can save that for later, when I'm not getting upset by this game's seeming inability to do what it is told.
  15. I'm having this same problem. I uninstalled everything including NMM and reinstalled the entire thing mod by mod. A lot of the body replacers and presets won't show up in the Plug-Ins tab, and almost none of them actually work in game. I use CBBE in my games, and nothing. I get essentially the vanilla game. I've already had to uninstall and reinstall everything once, I really don't want to have to do it again, especially since now I have to go through and reinstall all my Skyrim SE mods and hope they still work.
  16. This. This is exactly the sort of mod I have been looking for, and can't find anywhere. At least not for SSE. Remove the armor, it automatically equips the underwear. Remove that, and you have a nude person. Put the armor back on, and you have armor again. If you put underwear in your inventory when you have armor on, it changes nothing unless you actually equip it, essentially amounting to you taking the armor off. It seems simple from a non-modding perspective.
