  1. If you play on anything but a console, you can't ressurrect anyone. What I do on the PS3 is save "before" I fight the dragon: go inside a building, wait until it's about 3 or 4 in the morning, and exit the building to fight the dragon. Everyone, except the guards, are fast asleep and I don't have to worry about losing anyone.
  2. It's been working for me. Have you tried going to the main Mod page and downloading the program from there? Just click on any of the game icons and the DL link for NMM is near the top right of the page.
  3. I'm running Steam (darn those tricky marketters who sell Steam Installers instead of game disks!) but bought the Dawnguard disk (same Steam install  ) at the same time. Dawnguard is in my list but I have it unchecked because I don't want to bother with Vampires right now. So far everything has run with no problems. Have you tried to contact Steam about the problem? Perhaps the Dawnguard DLC didn't completely install on your computer.
  4. I was tricked into downloading Skyrim via Steam when I had thought I was purchasing a disk of the actual game. Now tthat it's installed, I seem to have no way to determine the game version. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can determine the current Steam Version of Skyrim I'm running?
  5. Actually, the link isn't dead. Try my last link to the main page of the Wiki itself, login, and then click on the Skyrim icon. Once you've logged in, the other link works fine. No, I don't know why but it did for me anyway. I would have thought that it would be publiclly accessible but evidently it is for "members" only. Thus you must login first. Use the same login information you use for the forum.
  6. Thanks! I would have eventually found it myself but it is so much easier if someone who knows the answer can point me in the correct direction. I have submtted a query to Support and hope to hear from them tomorrow.
  7. Could the Mod perhaps be released as a Two-Part Mod? One part destroys the TG, the other dismantles. That should be a lot simpler that trying to jam everything into a single Mod and probably much of the actual code would be very similar.
  8. OK, I signed in today only to find the "Premium" tag under my Avatar. I am hoping that only one of my three payment atempts actually took. If allthree ... or none ... took, I need to know. If more than one, I will need a refund; if none, I will still need to pay. I don't expect to get the benefits for nothing. Is there anyone who can answer my questions about my payments? I realize the open forum is not the best place to carry on such a discussion but it is a good place to let someone know there may be a problem.
  9. I was interested in verifying that I was using proper procedure, so clicked on your link. I got an error: Is there perhaps something wrong with the link? [Added] OK, I went in through the Wiki and brought up Skyrim and the link is right on the first page: How to install Skyrim Mods I don't understand why I got the error message unless it was because I wasn't logged in when I tried to click it. Your link and my link look exactly the same ... And, now that I'm logged in, I can click on the link and go right there. Perhaps that was the problem, login to the Wiki first?
  10. OK, I tried three times with different credit cards and couldn't get the payment to go through at any time. The last time I got a SQL Error: I have gotten enough help here that I felt like helping but now am not sure it's worth the hastle. Let me know when you are accepting payments again and I may reconsider.
  11. Perhaps a select few of the TG could be recruited into a new clan that helps the Dragonborn to fight injustice? Recruit the members you can and then torch the TG.
  12. Just for reference, the coat sleeves end just below the elbow. The gold band you see is a Dragon tatoo.
  13. That might be an interesting option to try. Where was Alva when you initially attacked her and how did she "escape"?
  14. Tell me about it. I'm currently taking a Mac programming course. Maybe if we get together enough Mac owners who are interested we could convince the Developers of NMM to help us port a copy over?
  15. I asked much the same question when I first joined and received not only a "no" but a reason for the negative answer. Can't remember what it was but I think it had something to do with no Mac programmers.
  16. I'm having a similar problem but, no matter what I do, I cannot "kill" any of my Stewards. I've even tried the console command for kill to no effect. None of them will "Follow me" either. :( Guess my only option is to start over and make sure I choose someone different from my Housecarl as my Steward.
  17. This looks like useful information. Does anyone have a link to the Bash program? Is the authors name Wrye? [Added] Never mind. I followed my own suggestions and found it in one.
  18. It must have been a temporary server overload because I'm getting it now with no problem. My problem is that, when I activate it, I am told it needs the ApachiiHair.esm ... Where can I get the ApachiiHair.esm?
  19. I am also new and found an interesting artifact of the NMM quite by accident. This will probably NOT be applicable to 99.9% of NMM users but, to the few who find themselves in the same situation, it could proovequite invaluable. Note to Moderators: This looked to me like a logical place to post this. If you feel it would be better elsewhere or even on its own, please feel free to move it. I installed Skyrim via Steam and then installed the NMM with several interesting looking Mods. I played Skyrim, with the Mods active, quite successfully. Now starts the "fun" ... NOT! I was having problems with recurring MS OS Updates. I constantly got the same ones wanting to download and install over and over. Not being of sound mind, something caused me to think that a Full System Restore from the original system disks would clear up the problem. Over a period of about 3 days I performed the System restore a total of 4 times trying to get a stable WinXP Home install that would upgrade to a WinXP Pro version. I finally gave up trying to upgrade to Pro and finally got a stable system. One f the first things I did was reinstall Skyrim ... or so I thought. Steam had other ideas. I finally realized that there was an uninstall option available when I inserted the disk so, taking a chance, I uninstalled the game that was supposedly all there and ready to play. When I re-installed it, everything went as normal. I quickly re-installed NMM and noted that all my Mods were still there, after all, I had saved everything to a separate harddrive so I wouldn't lose anything, right? When I tried to play Skyrim I noticed that none of the Mods I had activated were actually displayed in the Plugins list! To make a much longer story at least a little shorter, I found that I had to Deactivate and then reactivate each Mod in order for it to appear in the Plugins list. This is why I think this post may help someone in the future.
  20. I like the idea of adding to bit players back stories but hate the guilt trip part. I have enough of a guilt trip simply because I survived when a lot of my friends didn't ... :ninja:

I went to his profile but didn't see anything like a Kudos button. Where is it and/or how do I do it?

Well you learn something new every day. That sure would have saved me a lot of trouble (and embarrassment!) and hopefully your excellent post will save someone else from the same problem. Thanks! [Added] Too bad there isn't a Post voting system in place. I was going to "Like" your post but couldn't find anything except the Report button. I don't think you would like that option, so managed to refrain ... :whistling:
  23. Besides, they would likely "cook up" another way around any imposed limitations!
  24. I don't know the exact number but do know that many fora limit the number of images to keep the forum a "discussion" medium rather than a graphics showcase. I'm sure, if it's allowed, someone will come in shortly with the correct number. If you are creating a tutorial, you might find it advantageous to break it down into multiple posts anyway in order to make it easier for the tutorial user to keep track of where they are and to be able to reference individual elements later. ... just a thought.

I was going to send a PM to one of the Admins because this isn't something that should normally be posted in the open forum. As I was constructing the PM I realized it was a generic enough question it should be in the main forum as long as I didn't post any private information, so here goes ... I have two computer systems I'm currently accessing Nexus content with, an iMac and a WinXP PC. I just tried to run the Nexus Mod manager on the PC but had been logged out and I cannot remember what my password was. I thought I could go into my Nexus account on the iMac and "change" my password only to find that I need the original (that I can't remember!) in order to do so. I hesitate to log out of my forum account to use the "I forgot my password" option in case there is a problem. Is there an easier way for me to "recover" my password or must I logout and then recover? [Added] Hmm. I now see a topic that may be of help. Perhaps I can resolve this problem without any additional assistance after all. [Added 2] OK, I was able to recover my password. The scary part was deleting the password that my computer had auto-inserted so I could forget it ... which I did! I entered the required information and was able to input a new password, which I will hopefully now remember! Admins/Moderators, feel free to lock this topic or leave it to show others how easy it is to recover a password ... and as a reminder that not everything is insovable by the members themselves.
