  1. Hey, for a few years now I've been doing some writing every now and then for what I hope would make for two quite ambitious narrative-focused mods for Skyrim one day. I can't fully commit to either of them at the moment until I've started solving some major issues in regards to my psychological well-being but should I manage to get my s#*! together and be at my full capacity again, then I would like commit to making this project a reality. I haven't completed a full first draft of the whole script but for one of the mods I have at least made a comprehensive, readable version of one of the scenes that has seen the most progress. It has descriptions of some gaps that need to be filled but a lot of the dialogue is still there. The point of sharing it now is to get some feedback on how it is thought out, the quality of the dialogue, plot holes and suggesting ideas for what currently is not finished yet. So I'm just wondering if there are any discords or other places where most skyrim-oriented creative people (who might also be more well-read on the lore) can comment on it. Or is this already the best place to do it? I can still share it here.As for the mods in question - one of them is supposed to be called "More narrative content", which is kind of in the style of "Interesting Npcs" and "Citizens of Tamriel" mixed with "Inconsequential Npcs", that as the name suggests aims to add new high-quality, role play-heavy story content in form of new npcs, quests, idle dialogue, scenes and maybe even bard songs to help improve the atmosphere of the game on a writing-level. The mod that includes the script I mentioned above is more like an alternate start mod, only that in this mod instead of just offering a new starting position, possessions, faction allegiance and the kind of stuff offered by numerous alternate start mods already it offers an introductory storyline to go with the beginning the player has chosen, sort of like the origin stories in Dragon Age Origins. This will mean it probably won't have as many starting positions as Live Another Life but have more flavor and roleplaying opportunities. The starting position in the script I have to share is in the Dragon Bridge inn where the player has just spent a night and the next morning witness a platoon of imperial soldiers forcing the inn to serve them drinks without paying as is mentioned in the vanilla game while passing through Dragon Bridge.
  2. I've encountered this issue and did as 3aq suggested: I uninstalled first all my texture mod and now I can load in whiterun just fine. II'll install each one again to try to narrow down which mod that is causing my Whiterun and Skyrim-exterior cell to crash
  3. I've started a new game, I followed Hadvar until we get to Riverwood and then it crashes. I've had LOOT sort my load order, my game is very modded. I've tried with unchecking every plugin but it's done nothing to help Here's my load order
  4. But is there one for the special edition yet?
  5. I'm playing with SkyRe and a few other combat difficulty mods where one arrow might instant-kill me and one thing that take the fun out of it is when I'm close enough to hit an enemy as he readies himself to fire an arrow and I have to hold the attack button to make a slower, stronger attack to stop him from killing me. This can, as you might imagine, be pretty frustrating. In my opinion any attack should stagger the NPC or the player whilst pulling the bowstring. This has been done in Deadly combat but I don't want to use that whole mod to have this one feature, I also don't think it's necessary for every attack to stagger the opponent all the time. If anyone agrees with me, let me know. Another idea I have: What if - instead of having a skill increase the second you open a skill book - you actually learn the skill when you've reached the last page? It makes so much more sense, right? Thanks in advance
  6. Also, "gray-skin" is probably the least inventive racial slur I've ever heard
  7. I often turn the music off in game just to turn it back on again depending on the mood but it would be a lot easier with the press of a button. If anyone would make a mod with a hotkey to toggle off/on the music volume then there's one person who would really appreciate it...
  8. I've heard Phinix Natural ENB is a subtle, performance friendly ENB
  9. I'm not an expert on performance or medium/high-end specs but I'll do my best: If you want to change how the game looks but don't want to use an ENB, try "I can't believe it's not an enb" which I haven't tried but I've heard it gives you control of the color balance. As far as I know it shouldn't have any performance cost whatsoever. (Watch "Skyrim Mod: I can't blieve it's not an enb" from the Brodual channel. A lot of the mods down below are also covered in their videos) Water: Either" Pure Waters", "Realistic Water Two" (the one I use) or W.A.T.E.R. There should be different resolution options for all of these, I think. To fix the skyline or ripple bug: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54185/? For the NPC's I use "Skysights skins" but there's a mod called "Windsong character overhaul" which I would consider very lore-friendly (well, maybe not Serana). "Beards" is a really cool option for... well, beards. Completely lore-friendly. A lot of animation mods require "Fores new Idles in Skyrim" http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/11811/?. There are instructions on the page on how to install it. That's all I got for now
  10. Made a video about it out of frustration. Maybe this can explain the issue more clearly
  11. SOLVED! I fixed it by disabling the Enb_reference.esp from the Enb Reference mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36318/?) I play with ENB and some texture/mesh mods. I'll try to list them all down below but first thing's first: Often when I exit an interior (I've tested it in Riften, the rift and outside of Whiterun) some textures (usually the ground) take half a second to load and meanwhile looks like this: Things I've tried:Disabling Vivid landscapes and the NLA ENB's esm-file.
