  1. I reinstalled the game, but not my mod manager. I couldn't find the download for NMM, just Vortex. Should I use Vortex? Can I move my mods from NMM over?
  2. I recently switched to a new hard drive. I backed up everything and I've loaded it onto the new one fine, but I'm not sure what to do with Nexus Mod Manager. It's still there, and when I open it, it recognizes all the games I have installed and it still has all my mods. However, when I tried loading my save, it said all the mods were missing. The game and NMM are installed on the same drive, however it's not my C drive. How do I get the game to load with my mods?
  3. I'd like to make a radio mod for Fallout 4, but I'm not sure how to go about getting music. I know what songs I want to use, but I don't know how to find out if they're licensed under creative commons. I know some of them must be, because they're used in other radio mods, but I don't know how to find out. For example, the song "Runaround Sue" by Dion and the Belmonts: I'm pretty sure Old World Radio uses it, and I'm sure I've heard it in FNV mods. However, I can't seem to find any information about how it's actually licensed, let alone how individual recordings are. How do I find this out? In addition, does anyone have links to any good websites for finding free-to-use music that would be lore-friendly? I've found lots of sites that provide cc music, but not ones that are easily searchable by decade, for example.
  4. I need help organizing my load order. LOOT didn't seem to think I needed to make any changes, but I had a couple CTDs, so I tried to sort it myself. I don't think I did very well at all, because my game just kept crashing, sometimes on start up, sometimes randomly. I figured I had messed it up somehow, so I put it back the way LOOT said was right, but now I'm getting CTDs when I use the Armor Workbench. I don't think this load order is right, since it's mostly just the order I enabled the mods, with a few changes made according to what the mod pages said to do. I haven't been able to figure out how to determine what goes where; I know it has to do with conflicts and that you can identify them in xEdit, but when I use xEdit, I don't really know what I'm looking at and I'm not sure exactly what the things are that are conflicting. (I can follow the colour code fine, but I have no idea what the items highlighted actually are. I can't find a tutorial that covers that; if you know of one, please share it!) I think I've probably got some conflicts with Horizon that I missed, since it's such a big mod. I found as many updated patches as I could, and otherwise removed stuff that would've conflicted, but I think I must have missed something. Here's my load order
  5. EDIT: I seem to have fixed it by switching from the multiple DLC modules for Horizon to the All-In-One. New Load Order: I'm trying to get Horizon and Start Me Up to work together using their unofficial patch, but I keep getting frozen loading screens. I start a new game, I close the CC, I wait for the little notifications that say Horizon is working to go away, I pick my options in the Start Me Up menu, then I choose the Wake Up option, I go to a black loading screen with the little circle doodad in the bottom right corner, then the little doodad freezes, and the game never loads. At one point, after disabling the Far Harbor patch for SMU, I did manage to get past the loading screen, and I ran around a bit, but when I tried to open my inventory, CTD. A little while later, I tried to recreate this, but I'd changed the load order and couldn't remember what it had been, and I just got the frozen load screen again. So it's been a lot of dead loading screens and one CTD. Start Me Up works fine on its own, and Horizon seems to, although for obvious reasons I can't exactly test every feature of the mod. I think there must be a problem with my load order, but it's fine according to LOOT and the instructions on the mods' pages. Load Order Please help me.
  6. It stopped when I removed enblocal.ini. I don't know why.
  7. When I start my game, from Mod Organizer or from the vanilla Steam launcher, the game flickers rapidly. I can see the other programs I have open behind it. It briefly loaded properly, but the smoke on the main menu stuttered and my mouse lagged. I don't know why this is happening and in looking for a solution, I can't find one that actually matches my situation. I've seen flickering mentioned around before, though, so I don't this is a unique issue. I'm posting this in the general Skyrim tech support because it's happening regardless of my mods. If I shoukd post it in the mod troubleshooting forums, just tell me and I will. My rig: My load order, if it's relevant: I'm using OneTweak, SKSE, and ENBoost. ENBoost and SKSE are active for both Steam launch and MO launch, although the SKSE scripts and .ini are only loaded through MO. I'm not sure how to test without them, as I'm wary of removing lose files from my game folder if I'm not 100% certain where they're from. Please help me. Thank you for your time.
  8. I found the same result, but I'm not using FNIS. Also, for the Notice Board, I made a mistake. I meant to link to the updated version, not the upgraded meshes and textures. The updated version consists of its own meta.ini and notice board.esp files. The mod page says to replace them, which I did by merging them in Mod Organizer. Regardless, neither the original mod's esp, nor the updated patch's, show up in the load order.
  9. I use Mod Organizer. A folder called "Meshes" with the single file "~AnimationDataSingleFile.txt" keeps appearing in my overwrite folder when I exit my game. It is 1.3 mb, which seemed odd to me, for a text file. I therefore cannot attach it. I don't know what these files are and I'm having trouble figuring out which mod is responsible. EDIT: I am fairly certain now that it's coming from TK Dodge, but I still don't know what it's there for. My second issue is I'm missing an .esp in my load order. I downloaded The Notice Board and replaced it with the updated version as instructed on the mod page, or, at least, I think I did. I may have done something wrong, but if so, I don't know what. I enabled the mod, but no esp is appearing in the plugins window, despite there being one in the mod's files. I thought I ought to combine these issues into one post, for the sake of brevity and unobtrusiveness. I hope that is acceptable. LO (I copied it from LOOT, but it's appearing differently from how it did before I updated today; please tell me if this is unhelpful and I will try to find a simpler one): Thank you very much for helping. Please tell me if there is any information I forgot to provide, or which I could provide in addition.
  10. I really like these two mods, but the first one hasn't been updated since 2011, and they both replace vanilla clothes, while I would prefer to add new clothes for variety. I, personally, would really like to see more pants on women in Skyrim; it makes no sense that everyone wears long skirts, even when they have jobs, like lumberjack-ing or exploring, that would make them impractical to the point of dangerous. For some characters, it's fine, but for others, and in some cases just for the sake of variety, I wish they'd wear pants. I like the mods linked for a number of reasons. The new clothing isn't too extravagant, it looks appropriate for most NPCs who would wear it. The clothes are lore-friendly, and the main focus of them isn't to be sexy. I don't mind sexy clothes, and it's fine for clothes to look good, but I prefer they look more realistic. The clothes are also put on NPCs; I don't just want clothes for my own character. The NPCs also get clothes that suit them. Ultimately, what I want is a mod that adds new, lore-friendly, pants-including clothes for Skyrim's ladies, and distributes them to NPCs appropriately without removing dresses and skirts completely. I would be happy to make the mod myself, but due to a few developer bugs in my own brain, I've been having a lot of trouble figuring out how to make mods on my own, though I'm still trying. If someone were willing to walk me through it, I would be unendingly grateful, but that's a task that would probably be very tedious for most people, so I thought it would be better to just put this request out there. Thank you for reading my request, and thank you to the modding community as a whole for being so welcoming and supportive of newcomers. I hope you will consider my idea.
  11. Thank you so much for your response! Unfortunately, the cleaned save didn't seem to work, but I found my most recent save where the mod was working and am going from that now. I also don't know what error message you're referring too; the only message I ever got was the one in the MCM menu. But that's gone now, so, again, thank you so much.
  12. I made a merged patch and subsequently remade my bashed patch and now, the MCM menu for FNIS PCEA2 just says "ERRORS when starting fnis pcea2". The animations, though, are still working. I have tried: remaking my merged and bashed patches multiple times (using the gamerpoets video tutorials as guides)running Generate FNIS for users many, many timesleaving the files generated by above in overwrite folder making those files into a separate modreinstalling FNIS PCEA2reinstalling FNISremaking the patches and running Generate FNIS againreinstalling SkyUII have no idea what I've done wrong or what to try next. I left both FNIS and FNIS PCEA2 unchecked while making the patches every time. I ran GenerateFNIS every time I changed anything. The default animations that the mod changes are showing and working, but the menu to choose which ones I actually want to use is not functioning. I pose like Bruce Willis every time I stop walking, and I walk like princess Jasmine. Please help me. I don't know how to share my patch files, but if someone can tell me how, I'll upload them. Specs: LO:
  13. I'm getting the error message "There are files in your overwrite folder. [No guided fix]" from ModOrganizer. THe files seem important, and I don't know what to do with them that will maintain their function. Files in the overwrite folder: Load Order: Specs: Please tell me if there's any other info I should provide. And please help me, I had to type out all these files twice because I accidentally refreshed the page the first time. Thank you.
  14. I need empty wine bottles to make candles from Lanterns and Candles, but Realistic Needs and Diseases (I'm pretty sure) keeps turning them into "empty bottles". I can't figure out how to get around it, and there's no patch.
  15. I'll try switching the load order, and the merged patch if that doesn't work. However, after making the bashed patch, I still can't find any onions, or any of the other food items added by CACO (like fennel seeds, cream, Ivarstead cheese etc.). They don't show up in shop inventories, and I still haven't found any in barrels, anywhere. Any idea what else I could try? Thank you so much for helping me :)
  16. Thank you! I have just tried moving SS and its VW patch to the bottom of my load order; it does not appear to have had any effect. I have just made a bashed patch. I've never done it before, so I'm hoping it turned out okay. I used the GamerPoets guide video. Is it possible to switch from FCO to RDO without starting a new playthrough?
  17. I'm using Complete Alchemy and Cooking Overhaul and I can't find any onions anywhere, although they're apparently supposed to be found in barrels. I think I must have another mod that alters the contents of barrels, but I don't know which mod that might be. Also, I'm using Supreme Storms, and while the snow works perfectly, the rain seems totally unaffected. I'm using several other weather mods, but I thought I had sorted out all the patches. If it's relevant, the Supreme Storms patch for Real Shelter, however, appears to be working perfectly. The rain is nice-looking and intense while under a bridge, but it is a weak drizzle in the open. These things aren't related, but they both strike me as fairly simple, so I felt it would be rude to make two topics I use ModOrganizer. Specs: LO: Please tell me if there's any other information I can provide. Thank you.
  18. Thank you for your answers! I don't know what the problem was, but it seems to have stopped on its own. Thank you though!
  19. My games keeps giving the (Not Responding) message. It happens when I load a save or load screens. Sometimes the game will work for a few minutes, but then stop responding. It's been a couple months since I set up my game and I haven't been playing it consistently, so I can't remember all the things I would've done to troubleshoot before. I'm using ModOrganizer, and I launch my game from its SKSE executable. I'm also using ENBoost. Specs: LO: Also, my ENBlocal.ini and SKSE.ini. I haven't changed them since I set them up using this guide and this guide, respectively, but I don't know if something may have changed them.
  20. I keep CTDing when I enter Windhelm. It always happens with the dock doors, and it almost always happens with the main gate. It's been okay maybe two times, but every other time I crash. I can't figure out what is conflicting with what. I think it must be JK's Skyrim, but it's still happening when I remove all the other mods I can think of that alter Windhelm, and while JK's does lower my FPS, I haven't had this problem anywhere else. I can't figure out how to find which mods conflict. I don't know what to do. Please help. LO: Computer: If I forgot any relevant info, just tell me and I'll fix it. Thank you.
  21. Thank you so much! This solved my CTD problem. However, now something else is happening; when I start a game -loading a save or starting new- the load screen will freeze and my cursor will turn into a loading circle. If I click, the message comes up that Skyrim isn't responding. It seems to do well enough if I just wait; it will load properly. But that it's happening at all is concerning to me. It happens even when I've disabled all my mods. The only time it doesn't happen is when I load vanilla from steam (I use MO). I hate to intrude on your kindness, but you've helped me quite a lot all ready, and I'd be extremely grateful if you could help with this as well. If not though, that's absolutely not a problem; I thank you for everything you've done. EDIT: That seems to have resolved itself too (I think it's because I forgot to close TESVEdit before I started the game). Again, thank you so, so much for your help!
  22. I keep CTD-ing in the middle of Bleak Falls Barrow, at the part with the first spiral ramp thing where you're attacked by skeevers. I have a vague memory of some sort of log that helps with this kind of thing, but I can't remember clearly. LO: Thank you so much for helping. If there's any more useful information I can provide, I will do my best to do so.
