  1. I get sporadic system crashes which always blame that sound driver file; which now include any attempt to start a new game (right after the slideshow, after one to two seconds of loading) whether with or without mods. Updating to the most recent Sound Blaster drivers didn't help, getting Steam to check my game cache didn't help, making sure I've got the newest steam client and Fallout NV version didn't help. Now granted I run the game on XP-64; so I'm wondering if this is just a matter of the game being less than perfectly compatible with my OS; or if there's some sound card related issue at work. Assuming anyone knows, of course.
  2. I'm currently running FNV on a 64 bit XP system; and since I moved it from a 32 bit XP system I've been having system crash problems...straight to the blue screen of death. So far I've discovered a couple of very specific NPCs (a ghoul in the far southwest, a robot in House tools) that immediately and reliably crash the system when they die; the other times I've seen it is when something which just fits in it's current container is removed (two specific mines from traffic cones, junk from a trash can in Vault 19 once). Removing those objects is not certain to crash the system, though; sometimes I can get away with it, sometimes not. I suspect a sound issue for the deaths, since it doesn't matter if they are onscreen when it happens or how they go; but I have no idea what might be the issue with the containers. Anyway, I've tried reinstalling the game but it didn't seem to help. Any ideas would be cheerfully appreciated, since this is getting in the way of game play.
  3. I'm in Firefox 7; after the ad runs, I click on the server, the loading screen comes on, then nothing. Firefox doesn't even have an http redirect blocking feature, so I couldn't have turned it on (and redirects work perfectly on other sites). This is not deeply comforting to my soul, oddly enough; so anyone have any ideas what I might try on this end besides muttering maledictions?
