Hi there, I am creating a character which uses a custom race a tattooed skin and would like to give her dreadlocks http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/21228/? but unfortunately the hair doesn't work with the custom race. I read i that it would need to be patched so was wondering if someone can some one tell me how to make them work together. I'm new to fallout and have no experience with Wrye Bash so am at a loss, right now I'm struggling to get Wrye Bash to install. Thank you.

I would like to change the colour of my vampire's eyes while keeping the normal red for NPC. I was thinking I could replace the vampire texture she uses to one of the eyes of beauty-player, that way she would have it but no NPC would. I have read somewhere that you can re-texture but the instructions were limited. At the moment my character has eyes of beauty Dawnguard bright blue (dds 1) while the NPC use dds 2. Is this possible and how would I do it? Thank you.

Just a quick update + thoughts... Got the GTX 970 and Samsung ssd both are now installed. Software that comes with ssd for transferring files borked my system so ended up with a complete new install, (Note to self, go with gut instinct first) SSD...fast, gone are the days of making a coffee while waiting for pc to boot. Game loading is also a lot faster and said coffee waits a while longer. 970 card, easy to install, runs quieter than my old 760 and temps seem to be down. Game wise I've hit a snag, probably due to the amount of mods, were some areas in game suddenly drop to 2 fps and game grinds to a halt. Thinking that even this card has limits and I will need remove a few mods. On the whole I'm very happy. A huge thank you to all those for their advice.

Slept on it, made a decision and went for the... Samsung 840 EVO 250GB EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW. Now all I have to do is wait for my news toys to arrive. Thanks to everyone for their help,

marat569... The 850 pro ssd is around £250 for the 512gb here while the 670 cards are either hard to get or ridiculously priced, both would cost me near £550 or more. Amyr... That I can do.

Now I'm totally lost. My understanding of computers is limited and mostly based on building computers with duel core and older graphics card so I thought I'd done my homework when it came to upgrading this pc (obviously not) So here's the question... If you were going to replace your graphics card and add an ssd, and had around £400 hundred to spend what would you get to handle a texture modded skyrim.

I looked at the GTX 970 but was put off as they have 4gb ram but a memory bus of 256. I thought the two cards were better as the GTX 790 has 3gb ram and a memory bit rate of 384 while the R9 has 4gb ram and 512bits so both can actually utilize the ram they have. So confused...

I'm planning on replacing my Nvidia GTX 760 for something with more omph to handle skyrim and my mods. So far I have picked... I have a cosair 800wt PSU and an Intel I5-4670k CPU, also 8 gigs of ram. I am also adding a SSD but its the graphics card I'm unsure of Out of the two, which would be best? Thank you.

Hi and thank you for your help. My PC was built to order by Overclockers UK. Real Vision http://enbdev.com/ and http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30936/? is a clean install. When checking mods (my first thought as the cause) and this didn't fix the issue I un-installed the game, removed all Skyrim files and reinstalled adding my mods and Real Vision in the order listed on ENB page. Its odd how it suddenly started crashing after months of running fine and now, yesterday, it decided to freeze leaving me with no choice but to go into task manager and shut it down from there.

After countless hours searching and reading, here and Google, I've come to the conclusion its my VRam that's causing the problems, as in not enough. I've been looking at the MSI GeForce 4gb ... http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-212-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1830 but have been reading mixed reviews. I have also looked at Bethesda Bethesda Hi-Res DLC Optimized by Vano89...and Optimizer Textures by AdPipino... The one thing that puzzles me is why now. For months I had no trouble and could play for hours and hours. Perhaps I should go back to the previous version of real vision, maybe this update is too much for my GPU? The crashing is annoying but as long as I save every few minutes its not that big an issue so will do a lot more reading before I make a decision.

This past week my game has suddenly closed without warning. System specs... i5-4670K 3.4GHz 8.00GB ram Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 (2MB) HDD...677GB Free Windows 7-64 Game... C:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Product Version - 1.3.22.0 DLC...Dawnguard, Hearthfire, Dragonborn. Other programes... NMM Version...0.50.3 SKSE...0.1.7.0 BOSS...2.3.0 There's no one thing I can say causes the crash, it can be anywhere and doing anything. The only two things that have updated are Nvidia driver and Real vision. If tried cutting back on mods (48 instead of 56) and even a complete install (deleting all files included). The new install caused it's own problems such as saved filed crashing game at start up and mountains looking poor in game but I ignore the scenery and started a new game. I updated real vision (Performance) and changed from injector to wrapper only for my GPU and PSU fans to go into hyper drive so switched back to the injector which solved that problem. I get 60 fps constant with lag only when briefly after loading a new area. I hope the information and boss file helps. As for the dirty edits, this is another clean install and I haven't got to cleaning them yet (not that it helps). Thank you.

I only recently added BASH, I'm still reading up on the program so haven't really done much with it apart from open and look to get familiar with it, merging anything is not for me until I know what I'm doing. Someone else posted on the download page that they too had the same problem, from what I understand the Smim folder was needed from optional downloads. No idea what Smim is and if it says optional I tend to ignore it unless otherwise stated in main description. I have left the mod out for now as I am happy enough without it. Maybe in the future I will re download, this time with the Smim files. Thanks again for your help.

Found it! Vivid landscape dungeons and ruins was the culprit. Following your instructions I removed all texture mods then added them one by one. When the purple chest reappeared I removed the last mod added (Vivid landscape), the purple vanished. Installed the mod again and the purple chest came back so it was definitely that. I also found I had Bethesda's HD packs which had installed automatically. I disabled them as I use Skyrim HD which I'm happy with, not sure if that was okay to do but saw no point in having to packs installed. Thank you for your help. Off to play now with no purple chests...yippee!

Before re-installing I deleted the entire skyrim folder from Steam/ SteamApps/ Common and all files from My Documents keeping my saves listed in another folder elsewhere. I used to play The Sims and it was the same way to do a re-install (don't laugh). Will try what you suggested and let you know. Below is what you asked for, thank you again for your help.

Hi and thank you for your help. The chest replacer texture was added last night in the hopes it would fix the problem (it didn't). I use NMM to install and check the modders info in case the mod needs to go somewhere else than what BOSS says and had been working until I re-installed. Question, boot/loot logs, where do I find them. Sorry about my list, so much for being helpful.

I'm relatively new to Skyrim and loving it but recently found some of my textures are missing. So far I have some of my chests with a horrid purple plastic look, bench seats and alter table surfaces. Reading up on the problem I found it could be... lack of memory, graphics card or a mod. All were installed in correct order and are in the correct load order according to BOSS. Dirty edits cleaned. I had steam verify which replaced five files but this never fixed the texture problem. My game is also a new re-install (following instructions) While the missing texture don't affect the gameplay it is annoying and a fix would be nice if possible, hopefully without re-installing my game.
