  1. Oh, my mistake. I saw the Skyrim mod detectives thread in here just now and realized i should have put this question in there.... my bad. I have now asked the question there instead and i would shut this post down if i knew how. ^^
  2. Hey guys, i just recently saw a mod i got interested in, but i don't know what its called. It was featured for like two seconds in the 119th episode of "Skyrim mods weekly" at the 4:55 mark. (and NO, its not the butt seen in the thuimbnail of the video ^^ ) Its those three thrones in the jarl's room in the Blue Palace. Anyone know what mod that is? The mod which adds to the seat of the High King in the Blue Palace, and has a stone throne in the center? I have always hated the asymetrical design of the Blue Palace, with its wonky off-center throne and off-center door emplacement. I've looked around but i cant seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Oh! :D Cool, never found that one. Thank you. :) Almost makes the Stormcloaks look a little too good.. XD lol ... for various reasons, i have to ask.. do you know if there is something similar for the imperials? :D
  5. Alright, am i the only one who is fed up with the Stormcloaks (one of two major military factions in Skyrim) looking like the average city guards?? I know it could probably be construed as plausible that Stormcloaks use what they have, and that they are mostly recruited from the city-guards and whatever... but, although i am usually all for immersion into the lore, this is one of those rare occasions where i would favor some lore-breaking tweaking... i mean, i feel that for the Stormcloaks to at least gain some credibility as a major military power, they should have a separate type of armor as distinct from the city guards' outfits. They should visually be known as a force to be reckoned with.. after all, they are taking on the motherf***ing empire of mankind. I'm not asking for any type of extreme armor or fancy flamboyancy, i just want them to be as distinct from the normal city guards as the imperials are. Anyone up for the challenge?
  6. I see :O .. but i guess unequipping the torch is more realistic than sheathing it in the first place. ^^ So as for realism, that doesn't sound too bad actually. Is this something we can use? Put out on the nexus? Understand that i would be very happy if you did. ^^ Probably not safely... I am no expert when it comes to meshes. I have no idea what all should really be modified to switch it from light mesh to weapon mesh. It worked but I have no idea about long term stability. There would also need to be scripting involved to swap the light torch for the weapon torch. Not to mention that when the fire damage effect was applied, it did not do any fire damage to a test bandit that was consoled in. You mean a bandit walked safely through the flames? :O well... that just takes the reason for lighting oil slicks away in the first place. :(

  8. Correct, shield-bashing is when you press the attack-button while blocking with a shield. It disorients your opponent for a few seconds. Renn .. how is it going? ^^ any progress? I made the oil pools ignite when you drop a torch on them by doing what IsharaMeradin said, but I can't seem to do anything else. For some reason, a torch bash simply doesn't seem to trigger additional spell effects that I put on it. :/ Oh, i see .. :( so.. its a lost cause, then?
  9. Torches block when swung, but as stated above, when you press attack WHILE blocking with the torch, you "shield-bash" with it. :)

  11. i got faith in you... you can DO THIS!! :D .... make me believe you're god!
  12. Lol, god i hope so. ^^ If you manage to do this and put it up for grabs on NMM in a mod, you'll be my hero. :D ... might sound a bit overly-thankful, but seriously.. this has bugged me since the game was released. Please, keep me posted. :)
  13. Yeah, i've read about the fire-arrows as well. Granted, that's a step in the right direction... but... it just blows my mind... something so simple as a fire-wielding instrument like the torch, right? .. invented at the dawn of time, as we crawled out of the primordial soup and hunkered ourselves up onto two legs... it should really be quite simple, its the very first thing that came out of the invention of fire itself, the branch to manipulate it with.. no fancy pants magic spells, no effort to light arrows (which are for killing, not lighting fires), no breaking hanging pottery and hoping that something burning ends up in the pool of oil below.... Just simple, wooden, god-fearing, nature-given, man-crafted, guard-using, moth****cking .. TORCHES! I cant believe Bethesda dropped the ball on something so simple and self-explanatory.
  14. Ok, I have searched and searched but i haven't found this function anywhere in any mod and i must say, i got a little disappointed. I can't believe there isn't a mod out there yet which enables torches to set oil slicks on fire. o.O .. i mean, really? .. Yes, I know we start out with the fire-magic Flames-spell, so you might ask "why would we need to?" .... well... realism?? I mean, come on..? Magic and cutting down a well-placed lantern that just happen to be there???.. Gee, how's that for realism.. i bet all those guards strolling around the cities at night just happened upon some misplaced firespell-tomes and thought "oh, great! just what i needed in this dark and dreary town where i cant see s*** where i'm going. Let me get out my torch so i can light this sucker magically." ... magic and dangerously neglected locations for lanterns should not be the exclusive criterias in regards to lighing oil slicks on fire! Maybe you dont want to use magic at all? For immersive purposes, lets say the character is a strict warrior type who you dont want to have messing around with magic at all (in this case, choosing to ignore the magic spell you start out with). Fire-lit torches in combination with oil slicks should obey the proper laws of physics, damn it! ^^ I hereby petittion some skilled modder to do the dirty-work for me and make the oil slicks torch-reactive! Is it difficult to script, is that it? Is the desired realism just too hard to achieve? Who shall pick up my thrown glove? (if you DO know a mod which already contains this function in any form, please.. be a pal and notify me)
