  1. Trying to navmesh a new interior is a sanity test. Every guide I've looked at and every video tutorial doesn't ever mention the numerous errors about mislinked vertices or whatever else that happens when you try to finalize and save a navmesh. I can't get a simple room meshed out because no matter how I design it, every triangle gets an error. Autogenerating a navmesh gets me past the errors, but the actual navmesh is broken in-game and barely works. And while almost every big interior map has one huge navmesh with hundreds of triangles, the GECK constantly breaks mine down into little sections that stop the whole thing from working cohesively. Am I missing something? Is it a GECK Extender bug? I'm really stumped at this point because I can't tell what I'm doing wrong and not a single guide I've read or watched talks about how to stop navmeshes from breaking into different triangle sections or resolving errors when you try to save the navmesh.
  2. I've seen several people say that Outside Bets is buggy and has various issues that've never been resolved, since it stopped getting updates a long time ago. I also heard there was an effort to redo it by the TTW team, but that apparently got abandoned and is even buggier than the standard OB. While Uncut Wasteland has an OB-compatible version, I've seen it suggested that UW+NPCs should be used in place of OB entirely. Anyone have any input on that?
  3. Very interesting. That'd definitely explain it. It may also be one of those things that becomes even more apparent at <60hz, not something you can really do without NVTF.
  4. This is an issue I noticed a long time ago, and it came up today: New Vegas seems to stutter depending on your audio setup. For reference, using New Vegas Tick Fix with a new stereo headset plugged directly into my case, .ogg files like ambient effects and dialogue would cause a significant stutter. Music didn't. Tried an old headset, same thing happened. Switched to a USB DAC rather than direct input, and lo and behold, the stuttering was gone. Same sound quality, same settings, just different connection method. For shits and giggles, I unplugged my headset and disabled all audio output, and the stuttering was even worse. Same if I only turned on my monitor's speakers. I'd never noticed this in any other game, just New Vegas. That I can use my DAC and do just fine means it's not a big deal, I prefer the USB's quality anyway, but still, is this a known issue? I just wanna make sure it's not something with my hardware. I found a few posts from years ago where people talked about having the same issue with bluetooth headsets, but this is just a regular stereo headset. Weirdly, one of the solutions one of those users posted - that he opened an .ogg file in Media Player then launched New Vegas - actually fixed most of the stuttering. It's very weird.
  5. Damn. Yeah, very annoying, but as long as it works in-game I guess.
  6. I guess it did cache, but luckily it worked in-game. GECK's preview was still my recording, but the actual dialogue in-game was right and the lipsync worked too. Inconvenient, but at least I know how to work around. I'll try toggling AI to see if they ever changes it too. Is there any way to manually clear the GECK's cache?
  7. Specifically, I'm setting up an NPC to use some dialogue from a vanilla NPC. I made the conversation topic, it works in-game, I set him to the speaker, and it shows a voice file. I made the mistake of using Record to do a test voice to make sure it played in-game, and now I can't change it at all. I copied the voice file name, extracted the vanilla audio and renamed it to it, put it in the folder, and GECK still only plays that original voice file I recorded. I searched my entire game and mod directories and the file it's playing no longer exists, but no matter what I do, it refuses to play the new audio files I copied over for the NPC to use and the voice preview is only the testing line I recorded myself, not the actual audio file I've renamed as the voice file to use. Anyone ever experience this before? Is there any way around it? I'm using GECK Extender 0.35.
  8. Monster Mod's pretty outdated and very buggy (and I don't remember if it adds Floaters to begin with), and the only mod that re-adds Behemoths has a bad texture that makes it prone to crash. Could anyone make a mod to bring back these two enemies? Floaters in particular were supposed to be in the game to begin with, but got cut. Behemoths are in too, but their FO3 texture doesn't work in NV. Pics if you need them. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Ahh04YrMMqw/maxresdefault.jpg https://i.ytimg.com/vi/uZIn75e_nAQ/maxresdefault.jpg
  9. Chiming in to say the latest ENB update's been giving me trouble too. It's been causing crashes according to NVAC. The old ENB didn't, but 0.322(?) had some bad lighting issues. I'm just gonna go without an ENB for now.
  10. I'm almost consistently crashing after killing the first two Geckos in Goodsprings. After the quest updates that I've killed them, the game freezes, forcing me to use Task Manager to exit it. NVAC shows a long list of exceptions, but I'm not sure what's causing it. Can anybody help me out? Edit: it was New Vegas Landscape Overhaul.
  11. I've got a problem working on some custom clothing items (armor) that keep giving DR/DT no matter what I set the amount to. For example, even I set a pair of gloves to give 0 DR, 0 DT, it still shows up as giving 1 DR in-game. I'm not sure if I have any other mods that may cause this behavior, and I'm mostly keeping it simple, making a new record in a pre-existing plugin via FNVEdit, so I don't know if there's something in the Geck I need to look at that causes this. So yeah, basically even at a setting of 0 DR, 0 DT armor still gives at least 1 DR. I've not tried it on many other items yet. Any ideas why this may happen? Is it intended behavior? EDIT: Nevermind, it's an intended effect of JSawyer Ultimate.
  12. Thanks for the response. I've reported it to GOG and will get in touch with xEdit.
  13. Got the Form ID as well. Just tried it again on a completely fresh install. No mods. Background Loader: <Error decompressing [LAND:00150FC0]: [EZDecompressionError] Data error> It's the Strip's worldspace.
