Dawnguard...Castle Volikhar won't open

My issue wasn't with Serena. I hopped forward to the quest part with Harkon, without a glitch - but the gate is still closed, so I can't go in or out. Guess I'll just keep popping myself in and out of there with the console. Trying to figure out if I can just delete the gate all together. -
