I read all four pages as well. I found I don't have near the intellect needed to keep up with the conversation. Please, bare with me on this. You meet with Valentine & through his deductive reasoning, he comes to the conclusion that the kidnapper was Kellogg. Kellogg, a man both he & Ellie knew as buying the shack in DC & having a ten year old boy with him. Now Valentine would certainly say that that was fifty years ago, but unless Ellie is a synth too, she's much to young to remember fifty years ago. So, it seems to me that this happened more recently. Did "Father" allow Kellogg to take synth Shawn out on field trips or what? Doctor Amari said that the memory of Kellogg & Shawn in the DC shack was more recent. Somehow I don't think we're getting the whole picture here. As Desi would say "Lucy, you got some 'splainen to do!".

If I try to load an interior save, I get an infinite loading screen. I can load any outside save with no problem. Anybody have any idea why?

I was thinking a glitch or corruption, that's why I did a new d/l from Steam. I'm going to keep working on it. I've gone back to my XP rig for now.

I just put together a rig using Win7 for an OS. I downloaded my copy of Skyrim from Steam. I installed it into D:\GAMES\Steam, on it's own partition. I ran the game & it seemed to be working fine, except there was no dialog. There I was sitting in the carriage with Ralof & Ulfric, Nobody said a word. When we got to the bend in the road where Ralof usually looks at you & says something like "You're finally awake", he just looks at me. The carriages make it into Helgen & we just sit there. The sounds in the background sound like we're still on the road, even though we're stopped. Thinking there was some kinda glitch, I downloaded an alternate start mod, where you start at the end of the escape tunnel. Exiting the tunnel, after character creation, Ralof still wouldn't speak. Anybody have any idea what the problem might be? I checked my Voice. bsa & it contains 1.4gig of data, so the files must be there. Thinking it was a corrupted d/l, I deleted local content & d/l the game again, no luck. Also, when I went into Riverwood, nobody would speak to me except Stump, who'd bark when I clicked on him. ETA: Just d/l the 1.6 Beta update, no change.

prensa, thanks for your reply. I tried downloading the 1.7 patch from Beth again, just in case. It didn't do any better. I allowed the game to regenerate it's own ini & again, it didn't help. I changed the SArchiveList load order & it didn't work either. This is basiclly a new computer & since I had had lots of problems on & off with FO3, I decided to try a complete new install of the game. Apparently Quazzy was correct when he said that some computers just won't run it. It's funny though, because it works fine with FONV. Thanks for your effort.

I just did a clean install of FO3 & all the DLC. I haven't added anything else, no mods, no fose, nothing. The game runs fine, until I turn on A.I.I., then it crashes immediately. If I go in & change "binvalidateolderfiles=1" to =0. it'll run just fine. I'm spoiled, I can't play this game without mods! Anybody have any ideas?

I'm using Firefox too & have AdBlock turned off for all the Nexsus sites. All my pages are loading properly, although I do have a hard time getting mod comments to load if there are very many of them. I don't know if there's any relation, but NMM won't d/l from the mod page. I have to manually d/l it, then install with NMM. I've tried using IE8 & Chrome as well, with no difference. This forum & many more that I frequent work fine, as do the rest of the Nexus sites, so it seems to be only Skyrim.

I've been having problems here lately with massive timeouts & just slow loading of pages in general. It usually takes two or three tries to get a file d/l going as well. This is only happening on Skyrim, the other Nexus sites seem to be working fine. It doesn't matter what browser I'm using either. This happens twenty four hours a day. This has just started recently, in the past week or so. Any ideas?

I've got this same problem, nothing I try can make the lens focus. I've tried flames & frostbite, just flames & just frostbite. Nothing worked for me. I even tried to shout at it :wallbash:

I guess this means I'll have to upgrade my system

Are you using the d3db.dll fix in your fallout new vegas file? If so, try removing it. The game will reconfigure your graphics settings & you can go on. I ran that file for quite awhile, before things began going south on me, same black screen you describe along with freezes. It got so bad I couldn't play for more than two minutes without a crash. Removed that file & it seems to be running much better.

Somehow I've made a pretty good looking Courier #6 in the game. Is there any way I can save this character, maybe in the presets? I just don't want to loose her when I go to start a new game. Thanks

Funny thing was, the game was actually running better than ever, just before Steam took over & began downloading the new patch. Just hope the new patch doesn't end up breaking stuff. Of course I wouldn't be able to tell if the new patch broke anything or it was just more of the same from the last patch.
