  1. So, I had this idea when I decided I like the Light Elven armor (w/o shoulder pads) better than the normal or guilded Elven armor (with shoulder pads), purely for aesthetics. But! I feel all kinds of armor should have heavy and light variants, like dragon and imperial armor does, with different appearances and stats. Ex : All the heavy armor looks very plate-based, while the light armor, well, doesn't. It looks like a lighter material, like it should. More sleek. More curves, less hard edges, and far less brutish. Even the weapons express this heavy/ light difference. And, while light Dragon has some great looks and defense (when light armor tree is maxed out), a light daedric would offer more defense, feel better, if done right, look better, and be a bit more rewarding to make with those elusive daedra hearts. On the flip-side a heavy elven or glass armor would look great (again, if done right, harder edges, bulkier, etc.), and would add more variety to the game. This is basically a cry for more variety while keeping the same look and feel to the game for the most part (the really high resolution textures on the most of the armor, and Japanese/ manga style/ samurai crap looks really out of place in my opinion). I guess the point of this thread is to see if anyone else feels the same way, that all materials should have heavy and light armor variants, and to ask: Would anyone be willing to take up the task of keeping the vanilla meshes and textures but making both variants of the armor without another variant? Or is someone very stuck in their elder scrolls ways (this is always light and this is always heavy) kind enough to explain to me why my proposal is morally wrong? I just thought it would be a really neat idea. It would just take the right people with the right designs. Thoughts/ feelings? Share!
