  1. Precisely 300, also wearing one + stamina and one + sta regen item. That's enough to stunlock-kill most opponents with one-handed power attacks and shield bashes. And it allows me to have enough health so that I won't die if I have to fall back to normal attacks in the very short time my stamina needs to regenerate. And if I ever get beaten up enough to have to heal myself, having 362 stamina with that Item means I can fully abuse my perk-improved spell taht heals 300 of both health and stamina. Playing on master without potions btw, and I'd recommend keeping health slightly ahead of stamina early one, especially if you don't use a shield. Otherwise you might get one-shotted by dragons which means a lot of reloading. Since early game on master means a lot of tactical retreats, the perk that makes restoration spells also restore stamina should be taken as early as possible. You usually get beaten close to death before even being able to spend all your stamina anyway.
  2. Most of us have probably done it one time or another in a public pool, so it is possible. It could even be justified by making public baths the norm in the Cyrodiilic Empire, after all it is based on Rome which had lots of public baths (though people did not wear anything in them of course). But I guess pixelation/black bars should be used instead of underwear for both bathing and sex...
  3. Maybe it's because the children of the people who make these kinds of stupid rules are much more likely to actually have premarital or otherwise "sinful" sex than to actually behead or gut people. So more effort is put into the prevention of the more likely "sin"?
  4. Well I like the romance options in, for example, most Bioware RPGs too, I'm mosttly saying that a game like Skyrim where romance is limited to "hey NPC, let's marry for no apparent reason" does not need an option for graphical sex. the "lovers comfort" stuff is good enough. And without sex, there is no real point in nakedness. There's bathing maybe, but you rarely see that in games and nudity is not necessary for it. And I most certainly would not like to see realistic depictions of the other activities (changing clothes as well as "#1 and #2") where you'd be naked or at least "bottomless" in games.
  5. Just please, please don't make dead bodies naked after looting their valuable equipment... Partially undressing dead people is gross enough already. Also being able to have sex in TES games would also lead to some weird "fantasy racism" issues, read the in-game book Racial Phylogeny if you really want to know what I mean. Though I fully agree that violence should be seen as worse than sex (and both are totally overrated IMO), I vote "nay" for TES games. It would be another story if there was real romance, but you can always turn to creepy japanese dating sims if you want romance and sex in games ;).
  6. Weren't Orcs taller than everyone else in morrowind? Or is that just my memory?
  7. I've heard talk that dragons don't spawn before you pick up the dragon stone in Bleak Falls Barrow.
  8. The Esbern thing is probably unrelated, see here for how to fix it. Also you can just go to the ratway an bribe the Bartender of the Flagon for Esberns location and avoid having to do the stupid framing bulls***. Speaking of bulls***, I did the thieves guild questline without being stealthy at all, murdered a bunch of warehouse guards without being expelled from the guild (or it even being counted as murder) and gaining a total bounty of 40 DESPITE NOT BEING STEALTHY. What does any of this have to do with thieves? Also
  9. Esbern seems to use another file altogether, before the first patch I even had to manually replace that file for him to actually open his door. Here are the Instructions from uesp on how to get it: 1. Download BSA unpacker, which can be found here. <- This is for Oblivion but can be used for Skyrim as well. 2. Right-Click BSAUnpacker.exe and "Run as Administrator" 3. Click "Open" and go to the location "Skyrim/Data/Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa". If a window appears saying "This BSA archive has an unknown version number. Attempt to open anyway?", click "Yes". 4. Click on "Extract all" and choose the Skyrim Data folder as the destination. Note: you'll probably want to extract them from the japanese version to a temporary folder instead if you want to set Steam to english again later. This places Esbern's missing voice and subtitles, and he will open the door the first time you met him, and shouldn't give any more trouble from then on. Link removed. 10. I'm quite sure that TES is not the game series where you would expect a gruesome portrayal of medieval society and ignorance. That's more the domain of titles like Dragon Age. TES is a fantasy setting very much focused on the fantastic elements, though Skyrim does take a step into a more realistic direction seeing how you don't spend nearly as much time in different dimensions as in Oblivion. The system was really broken for me in the quest "Blood on the Ice", where killing a murderer before he struck his victim gave me a Bounty, while first beheading the victim myself and then running the guy who's sick job I just stole through with a blade was a-ok, not even increasing my murder count. With a guard standing right next to it and just watching. Letting the murder happen and then chasing the culprit into an abandoned house and dispatching of him was fine too. Reloading a save from before I fast-traveled to windhelm fixed it and alowed me to save the would-be victim while my murder count remained at zero, but seriously, this is one wicked bug.
  11. Level 10ish character on master, my first encounter with mudcrabs: Oh look, there's the easiest opponent from the previous game, bunch of them by a ruin in the swamp... ... wow, they have gotten some upgrades since then, but now I've killed them all... ...(gets hit by mudcrab from behind, now low on health) I'm not gonna run away and heal against f*cking Mudcrabs!!! ...(attacks last Mudcab, it goes down to half health but gets a hit in too. Character dead)... Or when I went into a Bandit cave under attack by lots of Falmer, still on master but with a char in the 40s. After dying lots of times I decided to only kill a single falmer since I needed Falmer Blood for a quest and run away, but I still had to try dozends of times. Among which quite a few where they chase me through the entire cave like a chicken until they ended up blocking a door...
  12. I like playing in a language I actually understand, but I'm wondering about one thing: I've heard "this and that" is an euphemism for sex in Japan, so it would be hilarious if they translated the merchant response "Oh [i sell] a bit of this and a bit of that" directly...
  13. In Soviet Russia, a guard once took a knee to his arrow. He then became an Adventurer to atone for the knee he destroyed.
  14. Just to clarify, yes this is just criticism of the games mechanics. Also shortly after writing this Ohdaviing took an imperial arrow to the knee (probably) and not only attacked both sides, after the fort was cleared of Stormcloaks he went on to fight - and kill - lots of Imperials while I heroically... grabbed me some snacks and enjoyed the show.
  15. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Skyrim teaches us some very important lessons about crime and punishment: If you throw someone off a cliff, it is never murder. The floor killed them. Examples include shouting someone down a waterfall for the dark brotherhood to only get 40 bounty for an assault, killing a stormcloack courier with Fus-Ro-Dah since killing him with a weapon or spell increased the murder counter, etc. Once I even shouted someone sitting on a runway on top of a cliff down (his fault for tempting me) and did not even get 40 bounty for an assault. If the dragon you call during a battle kills a few people on both sides, thats ok. Well it could be justified if you would have lost otherwise, but you should at least be put on trial (where they would find out you are strong enough to win this war all alone and called the dragon just for fun). Some people count as killed by you even if it obviously was someone else. At least if you are close by. Happened to me during the civil war, no matter what I did my murder count went from zero to one when one specific unnamed Stormcloak was killed by the Imperials. The solution: I walked away from the battle, when I came back almost all of my allies had died. If me and my daedric sword had been there, that would not have happened, but I can't go around murdering people on my "good character" now, can I? All human lives are equal and worth excactly 1000 septims. Well, almost all, at least there is no nepotism involved singe publicly killing the emperors cousin in public is also just 1000 septims. Also, horse-thieves and people who open gates for fugitives will be executed without mercy.
