  1. (solved) Hi guys! I just wandered if there is a way to speed up the retrieval of the elder scroll "dragon" to be able to continue the dawnguard questline. I would even use player.additem xxx to obtain it, because I don't want to redo the vanilla quests to continue with dawnguard. I would only skip it if there were no problems with my savegame later. Does someone have experience with that or can point me to a post / vid where it is done? UPDATE: Nevermind - I thought it was a longer one as I missed the quest begining with the book in the mages guild and started doing other stuff for them.
  2. Hey guys! Just a small feedback - you helped me out a lot. Thanks for that! My Skyrim really runs nice with the features I want and how I want them. Costs a lot of time on my part, too, but worth it  Having some issues with SIC atm, but that shouldn't be permanent. If you wanna have a look - I posted it here. I made some minor changes to my planned used mods and load order, but here it is: Should be fine I think. Papyros logfiles only show the error for the current crash and some missing files, but the mods logged that you can ignore them.
  3. Hey guys! Thanks for your answers again :) There's so much information in Lukezkee's second post and it took me a while to not only follow the steps but to understand what's behind it. At least I began to understand. After some more time on mod author pages and using tes5edit for creating a merged patch I learned a lot about load order and what merged patch means. I am not using the merged patch atm, but used the process of creating it to learn about what the load order changes. WryeBash seems to do about the same, but tries to be a little more "intelligent". If I am right it sometimes takes the e.g. 17 when mods before use 15 and 20. The tags are for some priority order I guess that tes5edit doesn't have?! I also like the feature of it when it shows "not satisfied" mods - in relation to the load order. Seems to offer a bit more for patching. Both tools lack some intuitive controls though. I prefer good old Eclipse ;) My ~50 mods are up and running and I didn't have a single crash. (shouldn't have written that :P ) For now I am using the populated series instead of the immersive patrols, but only because I already know the ImPats from an earlier installation and I like the big bad commander on each side. I had to turn down some AA stuff and shadows, but now it's playable even in the big battles. I like both mods! Oh damn my campfire just went out - gotta go! CU soon!
  4. Thanks very much!!! That's much more help I imagined in my wildest dreams  The wall of text is perfect, because I am one of the "I have to understand it" types. I am still busy installing the mods one after the other, but now I know how to proceed. My brain has still has to process some of the steps, but I am getting there. Will update my progress soon. Btw: Any thoughts on "Audio Overhaul for Skyrim" as Sounds of Skyrim alternative? When create my two patches - can I get rid of some compatibility patches for mods? Just thinking...
  5. This is so you actually get enough perks through your playthrough to spend in your SkyRe skill trees. I'm assuming you're using the SkyRe uncapper ini file that comes with the SkyRe installer. And, finally, leave all of your MCM menus at their default values until you get through the opening scene and actually get into Helgen Keep. This is to avoid the opening scene bugging out, and you wasting a lot of time. Good luck! You shouldn't have any problems. Hi Lukezkee and thanks for your answer! That's exactly what I was looking for :) - Going to replace Immersive patrols with Populated Skyrim Civil War. - Sounds of Skyrim is gone. I will look out for something else less crashy, but I really can live with Vanilla sound in exchange for no SoS based CTDs. - I don't really want to play as Dragonborn, but I can start as him and just ignore the Greybeards quest line to not have the mentioned problems. - I am familiar with the uncapper.ini. I am using the one supplied with SkyRe atm, but will make some changes. - Will wait until the scripted dragon event in Helgen is done - thanks. I am not really familiar with merged and bashed patches. Watched Broduals vid about tes5edit, have tes5edit and wyrebash installed, but I am not sure what to with them that could really help me, so I didn't start messing around - yet. If it is meant to include all the tools in one file that adapt the damage/armor rating for SkyRe of the stuff IA7 and IW adds - I just tried out "Pre ReProccer WAFR IA7 IW Patch" by xathra (new version today, only 157kb...!?), used ReProccer and it looked fine for me. That's the only campatibility patch I use for SkyRe atm, because it was posted in the forum that only this patch would be needed. Not sure if I got it all right though. All those different patches, dependencies and abbreviations are driving me a bit crazy. What should I do a merged and bashed patch for? Is there a good doc or vid you could point me to that I understand those tools better?
  6. Hi guys! I am trying to find out how to make a clean installation of this game with my wish-mods in the savest way possible. I've got about 50 mods I would like to install and it seems I could use a little help. It's enough to point me in the right direction - I am not asking for a babysit just to try and avoid CTDs later  Unistalled the old game, deleted everything in steamapps\common\Skyrim and users\me\documents\My Games\Skyrim Installed game via Steam Adding SKSE and SSME into Skyrim folder Adding mods and compatibility patches Running ReProccer including BOSS Starting Skyrim with SKSE from NMM I listed my mods below - so have a look if you want to help. Which order would suggest you to install the mods? Biggest problem I consider is not the BOSS / ReProccer thing, but which of the ReProccer compatibility patches to use in which order and what XML file for IA7. Read a lot on the mod sites but I am unsure how to do it right. I am looking to create a good compilation of mods for a challenging survival playstyle with a hopefully stable Skyrim. These mods seem to do the job, but if you have any suggestions what mod to remove please let me know. My computer is not the strongest, but can handle these mods, ultra settings and medium shadows at mostly 60 fps. ENBs are out of the question. Even tried the performance ones and fps is really bad. My Skyrim includes all DLCs btw.
