  1. Things skyrim forgot: That athletic characters can run faster than non-athletic characters....... Not everyone wants to be Achilles, the super studious mage...... Miyagi say, best defense no get hit. Athletic chars dodge better than non athletic chars......
  2. Unless I am missing something in the question, necromancy is a popular wizard playstyle in RPGs for many and having that option in a game which features wizardry seems to make sense.
  3. Don't move folders. Just modify the .ini files like was said and uncheck the .esp. The Bethesda HD pack is in a .bsa format and is not in the texture folder. If you make the game load them like that there is no conflict with any textures in your texture folder.
  4. I think for NEW items that are imported the textures work, but for existing items that you just put a new texture over(body, weapon, armor, monster, etc) it will not work. Also, are you sure you are not looking at a new HD texture that Beth gave you?? The difference between bethesda HD textures and user HD textures would not be as big as old textures to either HD texture pack.
  5. Too much from Skyrim(Mage/Warrior/Rogue) and not enough from Oblivion(Assassin/Acrobat/Adept/etc).
  6. It means hopefully a lot of the clutter will be cleaned up from Nexus as those mods are hosted on Steam. Nothing really serious or "must have" has shown up as Workshop exclusive yet so time will tell if/when that happens. The fiasco with the initial DLC screwing up any previous texture mods does not offer much in the way of confidence that SW will be able to deal with any kind of conflict or load order.
  7. The only issue is that if you don't use a workaround, all of your textures will be disabled with the 2 .esps checked. I mean all of them. So I just did like was mentioned above and fiddled with the .ini and get the best of both worlds.
  8. If you could add an alternate style of fighting with some craftable staves(and thus lootable from the enemies) that would be outstanding. I could get behind a martial artist/monk mod using alteration if the spells had the right "flavor" text.
  9. Ah, but I'm liking this. It's better for how I imagine things. Why shouldn't a character be able to pick up a bow just because they use magic? Skyrim allows it but with a nice leveling aspect, so that using a bow won't do much until after you practice with it. You still only get good at the things you practice a lot with. Why I prefer a hybrid of what we had in Oblivion with what we have in Skyrim. The perks system is great(even if some of the individual perks are lackluster) but Skyrim as is seems to be without the flavor of what the class system or attributes added. (Oblivion or Morrowind you could still pick up a bow later if you wanted, it just was not a primary skill that leveled you up, and would not be an issue in Skyrim) Think about a great steak without any condiments/seasoning. Sure, you still have a great steak, but the nuance that comes from various marinades and spices are absent.
  10. Same. Haven't had any issues since the 1.4 update.
  11. Depending on how broad you want to make the strokes: You have 1 class: Hero or Dovahkin Then break it down into : Battlemage, Ranger, Warrior, Rogue, Mage Where you take it further from that is just a matter of semantics and how much imagination you can put into a computer game.
  12. Any good monk uses avoidance for defense and at least at this time there is no way to be more agile/dodgy than the next guy. Perhaps a nice mod will come in from the CK that somehow creates a mechanic to base an actual unarmored defense.....
  13. If a mod is uploaded to the workshop and Steam claims ownership/sells it what would that do to the same mod hosted elsewhere?? I realize this is all speculation but I know several folks will upload to both. I would hate for Steam to claim copyrights and force it to be removed from the Nexus. Which if they are making money from Mod X I see no reason to believe they would allow it to be uploaded elsewhere.
  14. I doubt it, not the way he worded it. Would be good and bad if so, though. Bad that PC users have to wait, good that we know it's on the way. Unless it's an unlocking from Steam, there really isn't anything else it could be. At least for PC users.
  15. This is nothing compared to Fallout New Vegas. Now there is one F-ed up game. Skyrim is sweet relief compared to that unholy mess. Yet from a logistical perspective, Oblivion is sweet Relief compared to the unholy mess of Skyrim. It's all perspective.
