  1. Definitely a classic Fallout system. It would need some tweaks for how everything works in Fallout 4, but I'd love a system with traits, separate perks and skills, and SPECIAL that is more or less set in stone. One tweak I can think of would actually be to get rid of speech and barter, as Charisma now affects speech checks and that's not a bad idea. That's the kind of streamlining that makes sense, because Charisma used to be such a dump stat.
  2. It's good to hear from him (albeit by proxy), hope everything is well. I check back here nearly everyday, I'm excited for his work to come to fruition. He can take all the time he needs.
  3. Oh yeah, the unpaid modder who makes free content for the community while having a personal life certainly owes us his undivided devotion. The Inheritance was a quality project with professional voice acting and lengthy additions to the game, made primarily by a single person. His other projects are considerable in scope and ambition, but he has delivered quality content to us thus far. These things take time that can't always be accurately estimated, and he needs to maintain interest in what he is doing, hence his work on multiple projects. You know what? It's good that you've stopped hoping and waiting for NVB III, because he is in no way obligated to make the damn thing in the first place. The last thing he (or any other modder for that matter) needs are people like you who demonstrate disrespect for the long, arduous labor of love that he is making for the community. Get a clue.
  4. NVB has tons and tons of unique, colorful targets, and this is just pure Fallout-style humor. If you are able to implement this painlessly I'd love it. That example is hilarious.
  5. Yes, though I haven't decided on the exact duration yet. That's awesome! I just like the idea of my characters travelling actual distances. If Fallout suddenly resembled Oregon Trail whenever the character traveled a long distance, I'd be overjoyed.
  6. Yeah, Firebase Zulu will have an introductory and ending slideshow, if that's what you're referring to. As for Russell's trek... I'm not sure, particularly since only a portion of the mod would take place in a separate worldspace. Thanks for the feedback! I actually wasn't referring to slideshows, but that's lovely as well. I meant how when you go between Mojave and Zion or Mojave and The Divide, there is a 2 week and 3 day passage of time respectively. I'm just a little silly about that kind of detail, so I was curious if you were gonna throw in a similar script for locations that have a considerable amount of real world travel time.
  7. It crossed my mind, particularly with Zulu. However, there is already a companion written for Zulu (not yet implemented), named "Dallas", who's a charismatic cannibal the player meets en route to the Firebase. He's... unique. As for The Message... maybe, though that's a pretty solo affair, given the narrative. I'm much more comfortable with worldspaces and LOD now, so part of Russell's quest could involve a trek through the Sonoran and/or Altar Desert. We'll see. Russell's politics might be a challenge, as he is vehemently anti-Legion (he was enslaved as a child when his tribe was assimilated), but also opposes the NCR in principle (he refused to acknowledge the Ranger Unification Treaty). He has a brother in the Legion, though, so it's complicated. You'll see. That sounds great. Sidenote, for new worldspaces taking place a distance from the main Mojave, could you add in a passage of time with the loading screen like they do with Honest Hearts and Lonesome Road? It just adds a little to the experience. I usually like to have travel and other things take realistic amounts of time when I play, even to the point that I will simulate with the wait screen. Perhaps a little crazy, but I don't know. It adds to my investment.
  8. I think separating Russel is great idea, and I'd love to see him in April and wait longer for Zulu. We need some male representation in the companion department, and Niner, while well-done, just isn't my cup of tea. A Desert Ranger is right up my alley, considering my weakness to gritty, post-apocalyptic rogues who wander and try to do the best they can in their given situation. Good stuff. I've been postponing New Vegas playtime so I can start a fresh character with a bunch of new mods, including your refurbished NVB I and II. I think having to start over from scratch is perfectly acceptable, especially if NVB I will also be a refined experience.
  9. Where did you get the impression that everybody hates New Vegas? I have never gotten that impression. In fact, I have honestly experienced more people who dislike Fallout 3. New Vegas itself has most of the fans Fallout 3 has, and a decent number of rabid fans devoted to it specifically.
  10. I was annoyed that you immediately make the Fort hostile when you free him that way, what is the point of the Stealth Boy? I think someone should tweak it so it happens off screen, but the Courier should take a reputation hit when they're out of harms way. Who else would have freed Benny, after all?
  11. Awesome. Screw NVBIII, this sounds fantastic. I know everyone can expect amazing work and a worthy addition to the Fallout universe if you're developing. Out of curiosity, is the pro-Legion option you mentioned pro-Legion because it just involves attacking the NCR, or is it more along the lines of actually collaborating with the enemy? I'm thinking along the lines of the Legion side of I Put a Spell on You, where the player is acting as an NCR contractor but actively sabotaging the NCR.
  12. How significant of a difference will the Fallout 3 version be? Just random fluff, or does it remove a lot of the work you've laid down without it?
  13. Any chance of an in-game shot of those Death Squad Armors? Pretty much the most badass armors ever created for these games.
  14. When has it ever been suggested that either of these is true? If you talk to Bruce Isaacs, he'll tell you that the Bishop child is a boss in New Reno, and he had sex with his daughter. The Courier doesn't have any option to be like "Hey! That's my dad!" or anything of the sort. In fact, it's utterly illogical for him to be the Courier's father, considering New Vegas is 40 years after the events of Fallout 2 and the Courier would have been born while the Bishop Child is a kid. Also, Ulysses is from the Twisted Hairs, a tribe that has absolutely nothing to do with the Bishops, and seems to be even older than the Courier. So not only is it not implied, it's ridiculously improbable. OP: Several people have tried recreating old locations, but each one has given up. Vehicles are also difficult to implement. For armor, I suggest this: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/38738 it adds classic leather armor. For weapons, this: http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/37002 has every weapon from the series. You might want to look around at the highest rated quest mods and pick some that suit you. There are plenty fantastic ones, some very lore friendly, and some that just aren't for lore sticklers. Just look around.
  15. I agree about having some sort of reason, because with many of the vanilla DLCs with the exception of Honest Hearts, I tend to make one up. Depending on how big you intend your mod to be, it'd be cool, and I'd imagine more optimal, to have each location in their own worldspace. That way, if you want to have the player travel from somewhere in Arches to Moab on foot, for example, it could take a realistic amount of time. You can also focus on fleshing out each location with detail instead of having to worry about the wasteland space in between. Sort of like the originals. Also, your intention is to transition the player to the I-15/I-70 junction, right? With Honest Hearts, the journey to Zion on foot is 2 weeks, a pretty accurate number. Walking from the Mojave to that junction would be somewhat longer. As for having NCR troopers patrolling that area of I-15, I don't think that would be the case. Honest Hearts doesn't mention it, and they're spread thin in the Mojave as it is. They aren't going to care about barren, resourceless areas that have a heavy tribal raider presence until they settle things in the Mojave. Instead, I would suggest perhaps using a detachment of the 80s on that junction. They've only been mentioned thus far, it would be cool to see them. I don't have much GECK experience that could be used, but I am familiar with the area you want to portray. Feel free to ask me questions whenever you'd like. EDIT: Hear are some real-world suggestions for some of the locations: - Green River, Utah, as Ouroboros. As of now, it's a tiny town with the fertile Green River flowing through it, along I-70. Considerably closer than Arches, but still very far away. IMO, a bit more in scope for the base NV. An excellent husk for a tribal settlement after nuclear war. - Some place in the San Rafael Swell, for Burham Springs. An area with many mines some 30-40 miles west of Green River. Easily accessible from I-70. Some of the mines are actually radioactive today. - There are plenty of canyons in the area. Black Box Canyon, in a Northern part of the swell could house the Nursery. As for why the Courier is headed that way, they are a courier. Why not have them deliver a package to someone/something in the area? A heavy risk task, but high-paying. Probably better to keep it simple.
