  1. Overwrite SMIM with the mod that it conflicts with. I have multiple mods that SMIM does that with as they both change on the same files. Think of SMIM as a starting point and overwrite with others to make it better.
  2. Getting back into modding and have a question about adding support into a mod. I have some armor mods (DX Armors and a couple of others) that have option to change the armor from one category to another, say heavy to light or cloth (with a new .esp). I also have another that adds in weighted support and adds the high heels sound option (new .esp) to the original. I would like to know as it has been a long time since I did any type of modding, how can I add support and have the sound file when changing to another category? Do I just add the Heels Sound .esm as a master to the category .esp, or is it more entailed than that? Also, if HDT high heel is needed for a mod, can it be changed to needing and using Racemenu high heel?
  3. Will do. Will report back in a bit. Seems to have done the trick. Never thought about just running it. Thank you for the information. Hopefully will remember if it happens again
  4. I messed up, several things, and decided to wipe my Skyrim SE folder to get it all together. I had error notifications for Script Extender, and after wiping and replacing, I do not know how to get rid of them as they are still there. It is telling me that i have several and those mods along with the script extender were trashed and I only have my ENB, Script Extender and one mod installed and it is not one of the three that the notification is about.
  5. Problem is that when a file is renamed in the downloads folder, Vortex does lose the meta data for it. Then, when you try to get Vortex to recognize the mod again by re-entering the data, when you get to the guess download ID it will rename the mod back to the original name again. I have to say, I have many mods that would benefit from being able to re-name them BEFORE installing so that they can be grouped together with their required mods in their groups. Look at DX Armors, they alone have at least a dozen or more other mods that either change physics, colors or full re-texures. Problem is that even the original DX armors do not have the DX in the name on about half of them. So you have to look for the armor name without the DX to install it first then go back to the armor mod that changes it that actually does have the DX in the name. If we could re-name them before installing, the mods could be one right after the other instead of being a half a page or more away. On a side note, re-naming after install is not permanent. If for any reason that a mod has to be re-installed or if heaven forbid, an HD dies and the game has to be re-installed and the download folder is on another HD like mine is (and what has happened to me), the name reverts back to the original name.
  6. I hate to say it, but I now loath the site. When I went lifetime premium I could download as many mods for as many games as I wanted and never had any trouble with the site. Now I cannot download more than a few mods at a time if i use anything in Vortex that pings the Nexus servers. The downloads side needs to be separate from things like "query info". Basically, if it is not a download request, it should be handled differently. Had I known when I payed for a lifetime premium that this was going to happen, I NEVER would have given Nexus my money. Paid accounts should not be restricted. Well, according to your other post in the Vortex support forum, you were downloading a LOT. Actually, I had only downloaded 12 mods before hitting the cap. I had used Query Info before that to gather the info on mods that I already had first and that takes up a LOT of the API requests. Like I stated, download requests should be handled separately from information requests.
  7. Basically if you download a lot, the actual Nexus site will restrict you to so many requests from their servers per day of 2500 and after that 100 per hour. We can no longer download until our hearts content. Also, any other requests from a download manager such as Query Info or Guess ID's adds up to that limit. I do not know about anyone else, but i feel like I payed for a lifetime premium membership, just to be screwed in the rear. I could understand placing a limit on free accounts. But to do so on payed accounts????? Makes people not want to pay at all if they cannot get a premium service for the cost they are paying. Had I known that they were going to do this, I NEVER would have payed at all.

  9. Not sure if this is the place for this, but here it is. First off, completely unsure of how to do any of this. I have a lot of mods that I want to combine, not just install and then merge, but actually combine. Say I have 30 standalone (no shared data) armor mods and I want to combine them all into one and have just a single .esp to install. Single .esp or .esm, without having 30 inactive plugins in the list as with a merge. How could I accomplish this? Doing this for my own setup, not going to re-post or anything like that.
  10. I do not know why Query Info was not working, but I tried it on 3 different installs and now that the folders are on separate drives it is working. In fact, I tried it back in December last year when I first got my new PC and transferred my drives, files and settings over and it would not work for me then. I could download and sign in thru Vortex, it just would not retrieve the information for the mods that I already had in a backup folder that I transferred to the downloads folder. But it is all cool, I will continue to use this great modding tool and manager. Thank you for the work on this.
  11. Got Query info to work......for some reason it was not working when I had the mod staging folder and the download folder on the same drive. When I did a total re-install of everything (again), I changed the location of the downloads folder to a different drive. Now I have the staging folder on an SSD with the games, and the downloads folder on a mechanical storage drive. Tried the Query info button after selecting one mod and hitting ctrl+a to select all, and it actually started getting all the information. All but 4 now have their metainfo....which is a heck of a lot better than over 300 needing it.
  12. Vortex, Settings, Downloads, "Download Folder"..., change this to something else, and Vortex will start moving all the downloads for you, a process that can take some time. Vortex, Settings, Mods, "Mod Staging Folder"..., change this to something else, and Vortex will start moving the installed mods for you, for the active game. Again, the move can take some time. So, Vortex can already do this, and at least in my experience you'll also keep the information, like all the rules etc. created between mods. Did not know that, hopefully will not have to do it in the future, but good to know.
  13. Re1. Very understandable. There are people out there that do not know what they are doing and could end up messing up something in windows. Was asking as Vortex states the downloads folder has to be empty when trying to move the folder, instead of just recognizing what is already there. Re2. Mods were moved, downloads and mod staging, that was why it stated that the metadata needed to be purged as I had to move it because of a HD starting to fail. I did used the Query Info button on the downloads tab as I stated in my original post, and I also tried using the Guess ID on the Mods tab and only about 30 mods had the information after. That was why I asked about the retrieve info button. On another note, maybe a way to move folders from within Vortex so the information remains intact? Like with Steam, an entire game folder can be moved thru the Steam console to another drive. Just throwing that out there. Vortex has been one of the most intuitive programs that I have used and I know it is still a work in progress. I do love that it recognizes conflicts and sorts load orders without having to resort separate programs for those functions and I will keep using it......even if I have to re-download my mods to get the metainfo again. One more thing......HARD DRIVE FAILURES SUCK!!!
  14. 1. When trying to change locations of folders, force the actual location. I had to completely uninstall and re-install Vortex to get it to make the changes I had to do when shifting to a different HD. Had the downloads and mod staging on one HD and had to shift as it started failing. Vortex kept telling me that the folder had to be empty......why? Same file structure, just a different location (was not a problem in NMM). This problems leads into the next.... 2. A retrieve info button that actually gets the information for mods from the Nexus that have already been downloaded and backed up in case of anything going wrong. In the process of having to do the above (tried just a re-install first without wiping out everything), Vortex decided all the metainfo that I had had to be purged in order to keep functioning, which stops Vortex from recognizing the mods I had already downloaded. Back to square one on any information that Vortex had on my mods.....otherwise all it had was the name, no other information available such as Version or Categories (which is how I install everything). Just the above two things could make life a lot easier for people that have problems with a rig that losses an HD (like me) and they already have other ways around the loss, but not from Vortex. I have over 3000 mods backed up in folders for each game that I can mod, but it does me no good if Vortex does not get the metainfo from Nexus. Now to get the metainfo for Fallout 4, Skyrim and SkyrimSE, I have to download over 1200 mods all over again. Let alone Fallout 3 and NV along with Morrowind and Oblivion. I tried the Query info button on the downloads page along with the guess ID on the mods page. It did retrieve the Metainfo for around around 30 mods, but that was it. that was for Fallout 4 and there are still over 300 without info.
  15. After a long hiatus (about 6 months) and a replaced HD, I decided to come back and get back into modding my games. I used Vortex before last year on a different PC and a little on my new one until I had to replace an HD that had everything on it for my games. Which version is better, the base or the install anywhere. I was thinking the second and installing everything (including Vortex) and having everything (downloads, files, games, name it and it would be there) on a single drive-E to be upfront. Or should I go with the base that installs on C and then tell it to put everything on E (along with everything else)? Just want to get the smoothest experience possible in modding several games.
