  1. You can open the command console in-game by pressing F1 but I don't think you can install mods that way. The version command does allow you to see which mods are installed. To install a mod you need to create a folder called Mods in the game folder and then put the mod's folder in there. The default location would then be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods . Make sure that inside the mod's folder there is a file called ModInfo.xml, some mods are packaged in containing folders and you will need to only move the folder containing ModInfo.xml to your Mods folder. So the final path would then be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods\name-of-mod\ModInfo.xml
