  1. As the title states, my issue has to do with the black/purple texture glitch that has been reported about a million times. However, throughout all of the topics/forums I scoured, not one post seemed to have my specific issue, which is as follows. After about 509 hours of playing on my very first character, I decided to abandon it and start a completely new play-through after the NMM ver. 0.60.+ completely deleted all of my mods from that play-through. So, on my second play-through (with the same exact mod list from the previous play-through), I now have about 100+ hours logged and I have finally received the purple/black texture glitch, but only on furniture pieces and armors (including vanilla and modded). The furniture and armors that happen to receive the bug are random and the glitch can also happen at random times, from just a couple of minutes of playtime to a couple of hours. A re-start of Skyrim does, indeed, fix the issue, but I'm getting tired of having my gameplay interrupted by constant restarts. My mods, do, indeed, consist mainly of re-textures (and the ones that aren't are all sorted by LOOT, with no conflicts) and my pc's VRAM is less than 1 GB, but can those two things really be the issue when this problem has never occurred before in a previous play-through of 509 hours? I've also heard that the game could just be running out of VRAM, but then that begs the question of why it's never occurred in my previous play-through (that was as chock full of re-textures as it is right now!). Also, I've tried verifying the integrity of my game cache at least 10 times as well as re-installing the game twice (once from Steam and once from my game disc), but it was all to no avail. I also use the SKSE INI memory tweak as well as ENBoost (as I did in my first play-through), but it doesn't seem to be helping now. For reference, I am also using the same exact Skyrim INI settings as my first play-through did. It must also be noted that I'm getting other issues that I've never had in my first play-through, such as floating grass (usually in Nordic ruins, but once outside). Anyway, I'd be deeply grateful if someone could help me figure just what is going on in my game. Edit: I have used the Bethesda High Res DLC's from day one and the purple texture glitch has never occurred until my second (current) play-through, so the culprit cannot be that. Similarly, I've used SMIM forever and everything has always been properly installed, so that is not the issue either. Also, the purple texture glitch is much more frequent than the black texture glitch (which has only happened a total of 2x on my current play-through), and both always occur when I'm in interiors. The purple texture glitch also likes to occur after a loading screen.
  2. So, it seems to me that you've got an arrow stuck in your hand, which has happened to me once or twice. I simply un-equipped my arrows and then re-equipped them and the the bug was gone. I'm not familiar with the bugs that could occur with the 3 mods you mentioned, but you should try scouring their forums for solutions if mine doesn't work.
  3. This is probably a silly question, but do you use any kind of mod organizer, like LOOT or BOSS, to sort your load order? You seem to have a lot of mods (that I don't use) that add lots of new things to your game, which could cause general instability and or conflicts between each other. The few that I do use are things like KS hairdos and hair plug-ins usually belong near the top of the load order; yours is at the bottom, so it seems unlikely to me that you're using a mod organizer.
  4. In response to post #31881060. #31885190 is also a reply to the same post. I think WursWaldo meant that TW3 is intended for a mature audience, due to the nudity involved.
  5. Hm...it turns out that I do have "dsound.dll" but it's been on my computer since long before I even started playing and modding Skyrim...and it claims to be an application extension of DirectX.
  6. Yes, it seems to be a vanilla glitch, and I'm in the exact same boat as John. I also did a reinstall of Skyrim and my mods (which do not, in any possible way, cause this issue!) and the issue still persists. I even downloaded a clean save (no mods) from someone else's game and loaded it up, only to find that the armpits were still messed up. I've also got 500+ hours of gameplay on a previous character who did not have this issue. The issue only occurs on any new characters I create (with the exact same mod list as the previous character with intact armpits did). Also, the bra straps on my character's vanilla body clip slightly, so it's more than just the armpits that're messed up. edit: I've found a fix! I downloaded some body meshes from zzjay (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65684/?) and my body is now completely back to normal!
  7. @ blacksupernova: thanks, that was exactly what I needed to know! Now, here's how to pull up the plug-in that you want to edit in the creation kit: 1. Click the folder icon--under the "Files" tab--that's titled, "Load" 2. In the new window, scroll through the list and find your plug-in 3. Once you've found what you're looking for, double-click it 4. If warnings pop up, press "Yes to All" and wait for the plug-in to load up 5. Find which item you want to edit--via the search bar--and double click it 6. In the new window, confirm that the item has no enchantments and that the item has the right keywords in order to make it enchantable. As blacksupernova said, a necklace should have the keyword, "ClothingNecklace", a ring must have the keyword, "ClothingRing", and so on. Also, if there are any keywords such as, "DisallowEnchanting", you should remove them. For additional reference, examine some vanilla items in the kit. 7. Once you've made the desired changes, click "OK" There's one last thing to note--do not save your changes as a new plug-in file or it will contain only the changes that you made. For instance, I made some changes to some jewelry and then saved them as a new plug-in. So, the items existed in the game, but didn't have any 3-D models, meaning they didn't show up on my character. Finally, for additional help, there are numerous tutorials on YouTube that walk you through using the Creation Kit.
