  1. Agree. The current set up breaks immersion.
  2. I fail to see the necessity to hard code anything....
  3. The skyrim/oblivion/borrowing theme is very memorable. Especially when played to death in midi in morrowind. I can decide which one is better. I love the violins in Oblivion, the Chanting in Skyrim and the dunmer feel of Morrowind. Its eerie.
  4. There is a Rick Grimes named gun in F4. Also, I agree OP came off as demanding. Water under the bridge, let's move on ;-)
  5. So far I'm loving it. I will reserve all comments till I play 50+ hours... My only complaint so far is that locations in Boston that should be west of the City are north.
  6. Its harder, but I have been able to sneak, snipe & melee on Survival mode. Get sneak way up. I'm using a hunting rifle ATM, until I find a sniper rifle. My power armor is in the garage.
  7. I have a newer i5, no problems yet, except the dressed ctd cause by the audio bug. Nvidia 760
  8. Happy Fallout all! I'm traveling across country, but will be back in Boston asap. ;-)
  9. Hey Guys - I'm missing a texture? here. Can anyone tell what it is by looking at it (this is not click-bait). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have the official and unofficial patch for Skyrim.esm so I'm at a loss... Thanks! 10. You can only mod UI and small things in this game. Mostly to maintain game balance.
  11. I love the single player games. At this point, I am tired of Skyrim though. I will be trying ESO to see how they have done it. The possibility of exploring all of Tamriel is epic, plus it seems like they have a good bit of lore. I'm just hoping its more like TES and less like an MMO. So far, my 2 biggest gripes are no 1 handed wielding skill tree and forced grouping of races into alliances. I guess we will all find out how they did right after 4/4/14.
  12. Yes, as a choice, but not as a generally accepted way of using weapons. They can just build it into the engine and let modders take care of it, would be much better. Personally, I hate when people suggest it just because it's "cool" because it's a very useless thing. Everyone thinks about how good it looks, but nobody thinks about the fact that it's a pointless exercise. Sure, it looks cool, but in a post-apocalyptic world where ammunition is scarce (unless you let Bethesda make the game, then there's ammo anywhere) you're basically wasting ammunition and a single bullet can mean the difference between life and death. In Skyrim that works because the weapons are melee, not ranged. It's easier to handle two blades than two guns, less thinking involved, no need for precise aiming, no wasted ammo, no recoil, no empty clips, ability to dodge hits, etc. As someone who has extensive knowledge of handling firearms, I can agree it's possible to use two weapons at the same time. Firing pistols at the same time only works if firing at stationary targets that are wide apart, moving targets are very hard to hit when you have to account for target speed and aim with two weapons at the same time, and firing at a single stationary target is a mess. Automatic weapons are damn near impossible to dual-wield because you can barely hit anything with one automatic single-handed weapon unless the target is in the same room with you, you'd be lucky to hit anything with two of them. Then you have to account for the fact that most people in this world are right-handed, most others are right-handed and a small percentage is capable of using both hands equally effectively. Problem is, right-handed people have problems firing weapons from their left hand, and left-handed people have trouble firing weapons from their right hand. So you actually have one weapon that will maybe hit the target since you can't aim right switching from one gun to the other, and a second weapon which will just spray bullets all over the damn place since you can't hold it right. And then there's recoil. Pistols and sub-machineguns are hard to fire and you need training, it's not like FO3 where you get a pistol and know how to use it immediately because you used a BB gun, pistols are not rifles and they're much harder to use. Each time you fire you need to take a moment to realign your sights with the target, which is hard enough with a single weapon and near impossible with two of them, there's just not enough time to do it (which is why it's a mess to fire two guns at a single target). Why do you think a proper way to hold pistols is with two hands? Also, reloading. Reloading a pistol while having another pistol in your other hand complicates things a lot, you have to take the magazine and push it into the pistol. Complicated? Nah, that's easy, complicated is when you have to do that while having a pistol in each hand, being fired at and running to cover in order to survive, all at the same time. And finally, because Bethesda is making it. Seeing as how people yapped about dual-wielding for a long time, and seeing as how this is Bethesda we're talking about, I wouldn't be surprised to see dual-wielding Kalashnikovs. Bottom line is - it's not "fanboyism" or "being an idiot", it's the fact that anyone who knows about weapons will be staring at the screen thinking "what the f*** did I just saw". It's illogical and only seen in movies and emergency situations when you need covering fire (and that one is rare). I can see the option set there as optional that can be toggled on/off or player-only stuff, but if NPCs are going to use dual-wielding, I ain't getting the game. I'm not interested in "kewl lookz", I want to play a game that has some sort of sense, and dual-wielding doesn't. In a situation where there's plenty of ammo for someone to do something like that, like in today's state of things where you can literally find ammo in a bush, feel free. But in a place and situation where every shot counts and you pray to find any kind of ammunition? No. This. I'm so glad you said it so well. Kudos to you my friend.

Alrighty. My thoughts: I'm squarely in the single player catagory. I love all the TES games and most of the FO games. However, I have also played a multitude of MMO games before WoW killed them. AC, SWG, AC2, DDO, LOTRO, SW:tor and probably some others I'm forgetting. My current issue with MMO games is developers are now making them so you can solo almost everything and not need to group ever - ala - SW:tor. You have companions and you have easy mobs. This is a single player game with chat attached. No one groups or socializes much at all except for supposed group RP and supposed guild events. Some of my favorite game moments have been with a small group of players you can grow with, RP with, and experience the world with. This journey is the BEST part of MMO's. And they are killing it. They are killing it because too many people insist on seeing all the content by themselves or don't want groups. Now - without a reason to group - not as many people do. Its like going to a party and having fun once you get there, but before hand being lazy and not wanting to get off the couch or bed. You gotta go to experience it. So, my comment is.... if its SP great, keep it single player, keep it excellent, keep it fun and keep it mod-able. If its an MMO, keep it an MMO. Dont try to make it SP and MMO, because that will ultimately fail.
  14. Let me start off by saying I love you guys and this site. Having said that, where oh where has my advanced search feature gone? It used to be in the drop down menu "files"... Now I have to hit catagories, then sift through the new search functions. Sorry guys, but what you had, IMHO was not broken. If it aint broke, don't fix it, as they say. In fact, it was genius. This is my small plea to return to the good old days. My 2 copper.
