I recently rediscovered a PC game called The X-Files made by Fox Interactive in 1998, it is a point and click movie game that I played when I was a kid. I found it here for free: https://oldgamesdownload.com/the-x-files-game/
The problem is I cannot figure out how to play it full screen on a 2560x1440 16:9 monitor. The game is in full screen mode automatically but it only displays in the center of my screen with the bottom and top of the screen blank with the game's image in the center (see screenshot). I have an AMD GPU so in the AMD Adrenaline control panel I tried enabling GPU Scaling and set it to full panel mode but it didn't help. I think the issue has something to do with the video footage for the game being shot in standard definition but I have no idea if it's possible to make it fit properly on a modern wide screen monitor.
I would greatly appreciate any help, advice or any suggestions to try.
