  1. Tony should get a title. Maybe something like "The Immortal Man Pointing the Way".
  2. I don't believe that you can create or modify meshes with any of those programs. You would need Blender (free) or 3DS Max (beaucoup caps). And don't try to jack someone's mod without written permission from the author unless you never intend to upload it here.
  3. "As of right now the general population that voted for him are blithering idiots." How interesting. I felt exactly the same way about Bush/Cheney supporters. Only the very rich ones seemed to know what they were doing. The rest are now blaming Obama for the bed that they made.
  4. Hatred should be reserved for more serious matters. A view is not a stereotype if it is a result of direct observation. The terms that you mentioned are pure Americanese, as is the quick-to-defend-anything-American knee jerk reaction ("When yer talkin' down mah country boy yer walkin' on the fightin' side a meeeee!"). I might add that the mode of speaking that you refer to is less a sign of nationality and more a sign of the thoughtless tendency of the mouth to move faster than the mind. Some people talk because they have something to say, while others talk because they HAVE to say something. BTW, were you actually looking for a mod or did you just want to start a thread to vent about your job and the contempt that you feel for people with whom you must interact?
  5. Preppy women? I thought that it was just Americans in general. Don't forget "you know" and "whatever".
  6. Many of the mechanisms in Fallout 3 are hardcoded and not a result of user accessible scripts. If you can't locate those actions then they might be hardcoded.
  7. How dare you rip off the work of my Jackson Pollack trademark meshes and textures!!!
  8. Boosting the brightness would help. It looks like you have intended to make low visibility armor for stealth, yet there is a nice bright red light on her chest in one pic. Is that to improve targetting the center of her body mass?
  9. I didn't realize that dreadlocks were tribal. I thought that they were rasta. Redefined with time, I suppose. Haven't seen any for upload here.
  10. That just goes to show how many people don't read anything that modders write about their mods. What kind of git will take the time to PM a flame to someone but not take the time to read the truth first? @OP I think the first place to ask this sort of question is in the comments section of the mod's display page. The author is more likely to see it there and he should be the most informed regarding questions about his mod.
  11. So you don't like my tone. I gave you actual names of threads and you still couldn't find them? ok http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showto...hl=pipboy+icons. You want links? Did you look at the pinned threads at the top of the page? Ones that include lines like "links, links, links" and "tutorials"? You never used GIMP or PhotoShop, so what software do you need? Well... GIMP or PhotoShop, I think. To make the best use of this forum you need to read what is here and learn to search for stuff. If I have offended you by pointing out the obvious, then I should also point out that only 3 people have responded to your questions, even though many people here know the answers, and you have told one of the responders to ignore your questions because I am "not helpful". Most knowledgeable people on this forum seem to respond well to questions from posters who have put efforts into finding answers on their own. Few like to expend efforts that save a poster from making efforts. If you doubt that, then consider the vast number of responses to your post. The search engine will respond to words over 3 letters long. and it will allow combinations of words. Learn to use it and read the pinned items with links and tutorials that people have made the effort to create. Do not say something like "to find small infos like that may take a while to find in the big tutorials... for now trial&error is faster... so i just ask, maybe somebody answers ^^". It makes it seem as though your time is more important to you than the time of the people from which you are asking assistance. BTW, I have made pipboy icons with PhotoShop saved as .dds files. No painting of the alpha layer is needed. Just start a new transparent image with the same dimensions as a vanilla icon and cut and paste a light grey image on it. No mip maps. Save it in subdirectories with the same names as vanilla icons. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/1103832-1251986561.jpg
  12. It is also possible that someone does not respond to a PM because they do not continually access their messages. Lately I have had the luxury to spend a lot of time checking out messages, but I travel a lot and sometimes either don't have access to the net, or work prevents me from playing around much. At those times, if someone were to PM me I would not respond, but I would not be deliberately snubbing anyone. The individual that you are talking about might be in a similar situation. It is always a good idea not to jump to conclusions about people's intentions or their situation.
  13. You did not say whether you are running any fan based mods, and they might be the problem. I found that to be the case with my own mod, which I had to correct in order to get Broken Steel to work. While making my mod I looked at several of the quests in the Vanilla game for pointers. It seems that the GECK will make duplicates of any vanilla items that you interact with as you make your mod, and store the duplicates in your plug-in. I don't understand the reason that the GECK was designed to do this, but I found it to be the case. Broken Steel modifies the ending quest in vanilla FO3 in order to start. When my mod was loaded after Broken Steel, the duplicate of that ending quest in my mod would overwrite the modified quest and change it back to the original. I had to use FO3Edit to indentify those duplicates and Fallout Mod Manager's Plugin editor to remove them. After doing that, the conflict was resolved and Broken Steel could start as intended. If you are running a fan based mod that is loaded after Broken Steel and has quest duplicates that have not been cleaned then that might cause Broken Steel to fail to initiate.
  14. Supermutants are creatures, not NPCs. The mesh is not like an NPC mesh. The only facial animations are opening and closing the mouth and moving the eyes. As already pointed out, they lack most all of the NPC body animations. If someone were to rework an NPC mesh and skeleton to resemble a supermutant and then create a custom playable race with them I suppose then it could be possible to play as a supermutant.
  15. I was not recommending that you use the sound file that I made, only trying to explain the process that I used to add a new soundfile to a new holotape. And I meant only that you look at my mod to see how I did it, so that you might UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS in case that the method I used could work for your own unique sound file and your own unique holotape in your own mod. There might be other ways to do this sort of thing. All I can say is that the method that you have tried doesn't work, and the method that I have tried to describe to you does work. Use it or not, that is up to you. Please don't shout at me for trying to help you out.
  16. I did that by adding the holotape recording to an NPCs list of dialogue. Then when the holotape is activated it is referenced to that dialogue, even though the NPC never uses that line. You could check out the Supermutant Capture Team holotape recording in the Return to Shady Sands mod with the GECK if you get stuck, but it isn't that tough to do, so you may be able to figure it out without needing to do that.
  17. Have you tried: Items / Levelled Item / WithAmmoMiniGunNPC ? I use weapons from the "WithAmmo" list for my NPCs and they don't seem to run out of ammunition. Companions my be different though. It seems that the developers may have wanted you to keep feeding them.
  18. Really? I just typed "pipboy icon" into the search box and got multiple thread listings. On the second page of threads there was even two entitled "Creating new PipBoy Icon in PhotoShop" and "How to create Pip Boy Icons Please?" How much simpler can it get? Well, getting someone to retype it all again for you is simpler I suppose. Z3R034T. I used to answer questions quite a bit, but now I pretty much avoid answering the same questions that I have already seen a great many times.
  19. I have disabled any of the vanilla spawn points within the perimeter of Shady Sands, so if the MMM spawn point that you are talking about is an addition to the Wasteland worldspace then I don't believe that load order will make any difference. If MMM only adds more creatures to existing points then changing load order might help. Return to Shady Sands has been uploaded as a masterfile, so MMM would also need to be a masterfile to change the load order in a way that the spawn points could remain disabled, I think. I don't run many mods, so I am not the best source of information about load order. It has been suggested that I advise people in the R2SS readme file to disable MMM while playing R2SS, but I am loathe to do that. Neither do I plan to ask the author of MMM to change his mod to accommodate mine and I really don't have time to create workarounds for other fan-based projects, either. Any mod that creates settlements in the Wasteland will likely be affected by MMM in some way, considering its widespread effects in that Worldspace.
  20. I would like a laser sight that mounts under the muzzle of my weapon that only presents a red targetting dot when the weapon is in the firing position, and turns off when it is slung or holstered; instead of seeing a crosshair all of the time.
  21. Yes you can do that. I created several NPCs with zero health, placed them with Havoc and then included lines in scripts for them to killactor 1 1 so that they would be dismembered. It works on NPCs with zero health just as well as fully animated ones. Mix in a little vault blood pooled and splattered around the body on the ground and it looks like proper mayhem.
  22. If you place him as a dead character, you can use Havoc in the GECK to make him lie flat. Then he won't stand up again. If he starts out alive and then dies, it is a different story I suppose. In many cases I have scripted NPCs that I plan to kill to be disabled once they are out of sight or no longer needed for the storyline.
  23. If you go to the mod files portion of Nexus and search for "ninja" you can see what is there. On second look, what is I saw there looks more like a ski mask than a head wrap. I might have been thinking of a mod that was made for Oblivion.
  24. Other people say that quicksave and autosave are sources of corrupt savegames. I still save often, but I just use Esc save.
